way of doing it is with your heel pressing against the, they call it the norbhutte.

There's a tiny little chakra at the tip of, they call it the tip of the jewel, and it's

the tip of your sexual organ, and for male that's very obvious, for women that's the clitoris.

So, either in the perineum, which would be stimulating sort of a female energy, and it's
**Speaker 3**
a different small chakra, a particular ritual.
**Speaker 3**
And then the other leg is resting comfortably on the thigh.
**Speaker 3**
If that's not a comfortable meditation position for you,
**Speaker 3**
and you can't hold it for several minutes, then don't do it.

But this is sort of a class where you can experiment with something.

You know, like experiment with your winds and channels.

And see what happens when you get into this particular meditation position

and then try to focus on it today.

Focus your mind at the tip of your nose, watch them.

So, how about the circumstances you get after the evening of the circumstance?

The point is you should do your practice in a way that fits up the process.

And by the way, just to state again, in our immediate lineage, we don't do guitar this way at all.

And we would say there's no benefit at all to cutting the feather, okay?

And so we don't encourage people to do it, right?

It's not at all Hakacharya is done in your own language.

But, how do we know you're in your capacity?

You see, you're seen in yoga asana practice,

but you don't stick to your capacity to get hurt, right?

You know lots of people who try to do asanas that they're not ready for.

and they get hurt.
**Speaker 2**
And then you see other people who
**Speaker 2**
are so concerned about not getting hurt

because they never have.
**Speaker 2**
They're never going here.
**Speaker 2**
So, you know, we were in the three-year retreat

and we had the honor of
**Speaker 2**
Shannon and David came out to help us.

On one of the trips, it was a few days after that.

And we didn't know about that for two years.
**Speaker 2**
And, you know, we looked nervous somehow.

And there were fighter planes fighting for all the fighting together.

We didn't know what to do.
**Speaker 2**
But I remember those sessions, and they would get us into the room,

and one day they bound our legs, and they got us down to our stomachs,

and shared these extra junkies on our back.

And our back, you know.
**Speaker 2**
And for a long time, she said afterwards, I think she was trying to finish up, she didn't

cry, you know, an artist cry, and then...
**Speaker 1**
And that was worth it.
**Speaker 1**
It made her cry.
**Speaker 2**
And then you did this thing where you joined your artist, you know, cross your husband and
**Speaker 2**
and they push them down a little more and a little.
**Speaker 2**
And some of that, and in our tradition, we're taught people.

How do you as a student know what your limits are?
**Speaker 2**
The easy way is to just do your teacher's things.
**Speaker 2**
Because your teacher knows what your limits are.
**Speaker 2**
And then they can take you beyond the limits you think you have.
**Speaker 2**
So there are many examples of this. I know in this Master Aiyangai,
**Speaker 2**
the reason he can do his signature pose, right?
**Speaker 2**
Look at the mantra out there.
**Speaker 2**
Is that when he was a young man, Sri Krishmacharya's teacher
**Speaker 2**
brought him up in a demonstration in Kunalasota,
**Speaker 2**
and said, "Do the splits." And he said, "You know, honorable teacher, I can't do the splits."
**Speaker 2**
And he said, "Do it." And he forced him down into the split and it ripped all his
**Speaker 2**
siblings out of his coin. And he was in Major Cain for about six months.
**Speaker 2**
Then later he was all loose and he could do everything.
**Speaker 2**
And there's another story. We watched Guruji work on an American woman.
**Speaker 2**
We went to observe him one day, years ago, in my store.
**Speaker 2**
And he was jumping on her also. And she was screaming.
**Speaker 2**
And he was forcing her down to the floor. And in some posts.
**Speaker 2**
And you know, I think he helped her afterwards.
**Speaker 2**
In the scriptures there are examples of Naropa, his own teacher, Tidopo, one day he tells you,
**Speaker 2**
"You're ready now for higher passions. I want you to do this wedding being held in the New York Times."
**Speaker 2**
"They'll be serving punch, liquor punch. And I want you to go and get involved."
**Speaker 2**
And so Naropa said, "Anything teach us less."
**Speaker 2**
So he went to the village and he had his biggest ball.
**Speaker 2**
He scooped up one ball and brought it back to his teachers.
**Speaker 2**
He said, "I'm not going to drink a whole thing, he won't go.
**Speaker 2**
Who is I supposed to take a job?"
**Speaker 2**
And he said, "That's the best thing you've done to my disciples so far."
**Speaker 2**
I want you to go back and steal the rest of it.
**Speaker 2**
He said, "Well, you know, the teacher said..."
**Speaker 2**
So he write it, he did it, he stole the rest of it.
**Speaker 2**
And he got to be the help for it.
**Speaker 2**
But I really doubted it.
**Speaker 2**
Here is our teacher, we had a ballet teacher named Laura.
**Speaker 2**
I'm a Laura.
**Speaker 2**
also in three-year retreat. And we were out there working in the building, and she said,
**Speaker 2**
"If I ever ask you to do something you feel more accurate, don't do it.
**Speaker 2**
Don't just blindly listen to the teacher. The student knows themselves rather than the teacher knows that they're worried.
**Speaker 2**
They know it's something my hurt them.
**Speaker 2**
She said, "In my own case, I never do a move in yoga or ballet if my teacher tells me to if I go on my hurt."
**Speaker 2**
So I just took my blood from sleep.
**Speaker 2**
And I know they wouldn't want me to get hurt, so I never push it that far.
**Speaker 2**
And there's a famous example in the scriptures in Tibet where a teacher got with his four disciples,
**Speaker 2**
and he said, "You know, I want you to all go to the local bank and rob it tomorrow.
**Speaker 2**
You know, bring me all the money."
**Speaker 2**
And then two of them went to the bank and robbed it and bought the money.
**Speaker 2**
And one of them came in and said, "You know, with all due respect,
**Speaker 2**
I can't believe what you're asking us to do.
**Speaker 2**
And, you know, from my own morality, I can't steal anything from you."
**Speaker 2**
And Ayyed Ghajman also said in his Sur-Layka, "Banit-Chartim", he said,
**Speaker 2**
"Even if Allah not asked you to please help him, which is immoral,
**Speaker 2**
you should be respectfully refused him."
**Speaker 2**
And the person who didn't know of the man who was placed by his teacher,
**Speaker 2**
said, "You're the only good student to help you."
**Speaker 2**
And the other three are fools.
**Speaker 2**
So I think it's very important to do anything you don't ask.
**Speaker 2**
and to refuse to do what you're not mad.
**Speaker 2**
Right?
**Speaker 2**
We have scriptural, kind of a book on both sides, and we have actual stories.
**Speaker 2**
It's always right to do what you're not mad.
**Speaker 2**
Right?
**Speaker 2**
And you should refuse the immortal request of it.
**Speaker 2**
Right?
**Speaker 2**
That's the new practice. That's the new practice. That's the act of the new practice. That's what it really means to act of the new practice.

Always do it, no-matter-what it means. And then there's a huge discussion from anybody, I'll give him that teacher.

You're almost being enlightened in this lifetime.

It's feeling that, because you want to know lots of things, if you want to teach them.
**Speaker 2**
I think, we have this in our business courses above.
**Speaker 2**
If you look at different courses in business management, you can see that opposite actions
**Speaker 2**
in different companies have success, equal success.
**Speaker 2**
And you can also see that opposite actions in different companies have to go further.
**Speaker 2**
So, it doesn't seem to be in the action itself.
**Speaker 2**
The action itself seems to be somehow neutral.
**Speaker 2**
And it's how you load the action, or how you do the action, that creates a success of failure.
**Speaker 2**
So the lesson here, yukta yukta means that it's always appropriate in the circumstances
**Speaker 2**
to do whatever you personally think will help the most of the people.
**Speaker 2**
If your thought, at any given moment, in your yoga practice, in your life, if you are at detention,
**Speaker 2**
is "I will do this to help you."
**Speaker 2**
You know, "It's going to hurt me," or, you know, something like that, but in your mind you say, "I will do this to help others."
**Speaker 2**
Then the action is correct.
**Speaker 2**
Okay?
**Speaker 2**
Then you've loaded the action with the correct intention.
**Speaker 2**
So, there won't be any easy answer to what is appropriate.
**Speaker 2**
You know? There's no easy answer.
**Speaker 2**
"Should you let Sharon jump out in black and possibly damage him?"
**Speaker 2**
Or, "Should you say, 'No, I can't do that.'"
**Speaker 2**
And the answer is either one. You have to get used to that.

Life is more complicated than that.

I just want to do a couple, but nobody can tell you this is true and this is bad.

The only guideline for Yukta-Yukta, what's appropriate, is your own intention at the point.

Do you see her jumping on your back as a big benefit for others in the future?
**Speaker 2**
Then it's good. It's important.
**Speaker 2**
And if he decides he shouldn't jump on the back with some selfishness, then that's also wrong.
**Speaker 2**
See, so the ultimate guideline of what is appropriate for you in your younger family is a sincere attempt to do what will help most people.

And that's lupism. Okay? It's difficult.
**Speaker 2**
He'd like me to, I sense this person in the room, people would like me to say, "Do this or do that?"
**Speaker 2**
It's not that easy. It's just not that easy.

You know that.

You have to do what will help the most people.

In your perception, I bet that.

It might change the next day.

That's especially helpful when your mama tells you two opposite things to do.

I have a couple of questions that I wanted to address before I go into this first.

Someone asked me if people who are familiar with the seven-point posture of Rarotana,
**Speaker 3**
one of the steps, that's like a very classic meditation posture in Tibet scripture.
**Speaker 3**
And, you know, your legs are in a certain place, your hands are in a certain place,
**Speaker 3**
your back is totally straight, your chin is level, your eyes are a certain way.
**Speaker 3**
And then there's this thing about your tongue.
**Speaker 3**
And tongue is like pressed against your teeth on the top of your mouth.
**Speaker 3**
And people asked me if that was like some kind of modified HR.
**Speaker 3**
I think it's a mild form of it, but I think there's a specific difference in what would happen to you if you press your tongue against the back of your teeth,
**Speaker 3**
and if you press your tongue against something that's going to trigger the Ajna Chakra, or if you press your tongue farther back in the Lala Chakra, the soft part of the upper palate.
**Speaker 3**
and you have to experiment for yourself.
**Speaker 3**
It's kind of like playing a piano on the top of your mouth.
**Speaker 3**
It's like, "What's happening here? What's happening here?"
**Speaker 3**
Did you feel it when we were doing the meditation and suddenly we pressed our tongue against the reverb?
**Speaker 3**
Did you feel it in here? Yeah? Most people.
**Speaker 3**
Oh, something, right?
**Speaker 3**
So you can see how it's used.
**Speaker 3**
Like, first hand, not just like, you know, it's much better to actually experience it for yourself than it is to have someone tell you all about it.

The other thing is, we were talking about the difference between one leg up and the other leg up.

I think, I was thinking about Full Lotus when I was talking to you the other day and I wanted to correct it.
**Speaker 3**
There are people who live mostly in their right hand channel.
**Speaker 3**
Then there are people who live mostly in their left hand channel.
**Speaker 3**
There are people who like yoga and hate to meditate.
**Speaker 3**
Might be, I don't know, some people are the same.
**Speaker 3**
Then there are people who like to meditate and really hate yoga.
**Speaker 3**
You know, it's like, there's always, and maybe it reverses depending on how you, you know, the month that you're in that year.
**Speaker 3**
But, you know, there are people who are really involved in their body or involved in the outside world.
**Speaker 3**
And then there are people who are living totally in their head.
**Speaker 3**
Like computer programmers or something.
**Speaker 3**
They're living in the left-hand channel.
**Speaker 3**
Depending on which type of personality you are, it would be better for you to access the other side in order to balance yourself out a little bit.
**Speaker 3**
So when you say you're someone who likes yoga and doesn't like to meditate so much, you're living in your right-hand channel more than you're living in your right-hand channel more than you're living in your right-hand channel.
**Speaker 3**
So maybe you're living in your right-hand channel a little more than you're living in your left-hand channel.
**Speaker 3**
So constrict your right-hand channel a little bit more.
**Speaker 3**
Let the left-hand channel flow a little bit more.
**Speaker 3**
Your mind will hop to the left-hand channel because it's a more open channel and you'll be able to sit longer in meditation.
**Speaker 3**
If, on the other hand, you're such a cerebral person and you're not even comfortable in your body,
**Speaker 3**
and you love to meditate and you hate to get on your yoga mat, it's probably better for you to do the opposite.
**Speaker 3**
Constrict the left hand channel. Let the channel on the right flow a little bit more.
**Speaker 3**
But if you're in full notice, it's the opposite.
**Speaker 3**
You would want...
**Speaker 3**
The person living in their right-hand channel would want to put their left foot up first
**Speaker 3**
because the right foot is more constricted, the foot on top is more constricted.
**Speaker 3**
Does that make sense?
**Speaker 3**
Everybody can see.
**Speaker 3**
This is more constricted.
**Speaker 3**
And it sets the prana up.
**Speaker 3**
Full lotus is great because none of the prana stays stagnant in the leg.

It's all forcing the prana up into the core of the body.

You know, the...

Who's called this?

Yeah, torso, but something else.

Anyway, it's forcing in here.

So you don't have any stagnant prana, so you're not wasting any energy.

And also it's a perfect position to get your back only straight, which is very important when you're meditating.

So, then the other thing that we talked about in the beginning of class,

with the whether to put your foot in the perennium or whether to put your foot at what they call the tip of the jewel,

and, you know, that's like modified Siddhasana, right?
**Speaker 3**
Like, it's ha-hosted asana, where you're putting your first heel right at the tip of your sexual organ
**Speaker 3**
and stimulating a certain chakra there.
**Speaker 3**
That's more of a male energy.
**Speaker 3**
You know, if you're going to put your foot in the pernium, that's more of a female energy.
**Speaker 3**
And as Gishmachal was talking about the other day, it's good to balance out the disparate energies of the body.
**Speaker 3**
So, it's good to have different ways to stimulate the female energy in the body.
**Speaker 3**
It's good to have different ways to stimulate the male energy in the body.
**Speaker 3**
You have to play with it yourself.
**Speaker 3**
Okay, next verse.

We're going on to verse 37.

"Halam parang mukhin kirtva,

also known as the wheel of the sky.

So again we're talking about the tongue being able to be turned back

and reaching up all the way to the Ajna Chakra to touch the place where the two side channels cross it.

That is what it means to be the Ajna Chakra.

It's that choke point where the two side channels are actually cropping the central channel.

But that's also the opening of the central channel.
**Speaker 3**
So it's a powerful spot for, we were working on the lower end of the central channel,

trying to get the winds into the Shreveni at the place below the navel.
**Speaker 3**
But there's also a possibility of working up here to get the winds into the central channel.
**Speaker 3**
So when they say the intersection of the three, we're not talking about down here anymore.
**Speaker 3**
We're talking about up here.
**Speaker 3**
This working up here in the top of the head, it's a little bit dangerous.
**Speaker 3**
It's good for when you're sort of sleepy and, you know, wakes you up.
**Speaker 3**
but I've come across a lot of different incidents where people have actually,
**Speaker 3**
they've gone on their own and they've done some really heavy channel meditations,
**Speaker 3**
either at the top of their head or with the Ajna Chakra,
**Speaker 3**
and there's a billion little tiny channels inside your head.
**Speaker 3**
They're like branching out from the top chakra and they're going all over the place.
**Speaker 3**
And they're so tiny and they're so fragile.
**Speaker 3**
And if you get the wind into one of them and something goes wrong,
**Speaker 3**
and if you get too much wind into a tiny, tiny channel, it can burst the channel.
**Speaker 3**
And it takes a long time for it to heal.
**Speaker 3**
And so there are people I know who've done the practice in a mistaken way,
**Speaker 3**
and something happens and they hurt one of their chakras at their head,
**Speaker 3**
and now they can't meditate there at all.
**Speaker 3**
Like, they can't meditate above the heart.
**Speaker 3**
They can't even picture their asana chakra without being in pain.
**Speaker 3**
You know, like this aggravated channel pain.
**Speaker 3**
So you have to be really careful.
**Speaker 3**
You have to be really gentle with the chakras at the top of your head.
**Speaker 3**
Which is why most of the time we recommend that people focus down here at the lower chakras because it's safe.
**Speaker 3**
You can't, if your concentration is not perfect on the name, on the spot inside the central channel,
**Speaker 3**
It doesn't matter down here.
**Speaker 3**
You know, yeah, you'll get a little bit more warmth.
**Speaker 3**
Then, you know, instead of getting the warmth at the pinpoint, you'll get a general warmth.
**Speaker 3**
And then you'll know, oh, I'm not doing it correctly.
**Speaker 3**
And then you go back.
**Speaker 3**
But nothing drastic is going to happen to you if your concentration is not good enough and you veer off.
**Speaker 3**
If you're working up here, you have to be very careful and go on very short bursts and not push too hard.
**Speaker 3**
One of the temptations is that people, most people I know can feel something up here.
**Speaker 3**
So they want to work up here.
**Speaker 3**
They're like, I can't feel this down here.
**Speaker 3**
I can feel this, you know.
**Speaker 3**
But try and develop the feeling down here.
**Speaker 3**
It's important.
**Speaker 3**
It's important to get that resonance.
**Speaker 3**
So, when they're talking about embracing the intersection of the three,
**Speaker 3**
is it necessarily that your tongue has to be physically touching the Ajna chakra
**Speaker 3**
at the intersection of the three channels?
**Speaker 3**
To be the truth, it's, you know, the tongue is this gross, physical thing,
**Speaker 3**
and the channels are made of light.
**Speaker 3**
They're not at all the same kind of substance.
**Speaker 3**
and pressing on the roof of the mouth is probably just as good of a stimulus as anything.
**Speaker 3**
It's like trying to cut your tongue and forcing it up there.
**Speaker 3**
It's a little bit overdoing it in our tradition, you know.
**Speaker 3**
You can put your mind in some place mentally
**Speaker 3**
and get it there much, much better than you can do anything physically.
**Speaker 3**
When you're talking about the inner body
**Speaker 3**
and you actually picture the three channels, the intersection at the Ajna Chakra,
**Speaker 3**
your mind takes you farther than your body is ever going to go.
**Speaker 3**
So when they say embracing the intersection of the three, it's more of a mental thing.
**Speaker 3**
It's what we're doing in the meditation.
**Speaker 3**
If you actually trigger this spot and you start to get the wind in the central channel at the upper opening,
**Speaker 3**
you will have an automatic understanding of Exodus.

And that is why the accomplished ones have designated the song by the name of Sky Dancer.

Skydance or it means K-Chari.

Chi is the sky, but A is in the sky, K.

And then the char is to go or act or move or dance.

That's the dance or the sky.

And we all have a very clear picture of ourselves and other people.

and it comes from the two-side channel.

And we have a very clear picture of ourselves and then the outside world.

We have a very clear picture of time and of space, right?

I know that it would take me about, I don't know, 15 steps against the door over there, right?

I know how far I am away from the door.

I have a sense of space and I know how long it would take me to get there.

And, you know, in the, well, if I didn't have a bunch of very devoted students getting these flowers,

I know how long it would take me to get there.

But, I mean, just like in an empty room, walking from here to the door, you know, right?

And, um, we think that, we think that this space around us is totally fixed.

You know, we think that we actually get up and walk to the door.

But what's actually happening in our minds?

What's actually happening?

I'm having a projection of this tiny little rectangular thing.

And then I'm having a projection of taking a step.

and I'm having a projection of seeing a tiny rectangular thing that's a little bit bigger.

And there are flashes of pictures in my mind getting bigger and bigger rectangles

and it looks like I'm moving to the door.

Right?
**Speaker 3**
It looks like I'm moving to the door.

I'm not moving anywhere.

When you walk to the door, you can never walk to the door.

You can never walk to the door.

There is no such thing as the space from here to the door.

The space that you think exists in this room from you to the door, it doesn't exist.

It's just a projection.

It's all just like a movie.

It's all just like pictures, fast pictures that make it look like you're moving in time, in space.

You're walking around.
**Speaker 3**
You're not walking around.

You know, it's this whole virtual reality thing that's flashing picture by picture,

projection by projection, as each public seat ripens.

You get a different picture. You get a different picture of the door getting bigger and bigger and bigger.

You get a different picture of walking out of the room, walking out of New York.
**Speaker 3**
It's all in your mind. You can close your eyes right now and see the spiraling doorway outside

and then you can see 59th Street, Central Park South, and you can see a park across the street

You can see the two, you know, streets running alongside the Central Park and you can go further.

It's all in your mind.
**Speaker 3**
Like every single thing, it's all in your mind.

And it's nothing but in your mind.
**Speaker 3**
Right?
**Speaker 3**
I mean, go further.
**Speaker 3**
Oh, you can see all of Central Park.
**Speaker 3**
Oh, now I can see all of Central Park plus the two rivers.

Oh, now I can see the whole island.

Right?

When you go into emptiness here, when you go into the direct process of emptiness, all of that is off.

Like all of that illusion of all of this space, you and everything else around you in this grand space, it all collapses.

And the mind, it ends with it, it's also.

Which is infinite.
**Speaker 3**
So, how is that helpful?

How is that helpful?

Well, you can learn how to bend space-time and you can get to places really quickly.

You think I'm joking.

No, it's true.
**Speaker 3**
You know, once you figure out that everything is a projection, once you figure out that the

space from here to the door actually doesn't really exist, it's only in your own mind,
**Speaker 3**
I could be at the door without walking over there.
**Speaker 3**
You can learn how to emanate once you realize that you're not fixed in a certain space in
**Speaker 3**
your own body.
**Speaker 3**
You can actually learn how to emanate other bodies and you can actually help more people
**Speaker 3**
at once, which is what being enlightened is all about.
**Speaker 3**
But you learn how to emanate before you get completely enlightened.
**Speaker 3**
you can actually start emanating like one, maybe two, you know.
**Speaker 3**
It happens slowly, it happens slowly.
**Speaker 3**
As you start to understand the implications of emanating,
**Speaker 3**
you could learn how to see the future.
**Speaker 3**
And all of these, I mean, they sound like these really elaborate, miraculous things,
**Speaker 3**
but if you actually had them, you could really use them to help other people.
**Speaker 3**
I mean, you could design, you have a certain student body,
**Speaker 3**
and you could design their whole future 50 years in advance, or 100 years in advance,
**Speaker 3**
and you could be able to see it, and you could be able to see how it's going to actually happen,
**Speaker 3**
and how it's going to evolve, and how a certain movement is going to evolve in this country,
**Speaker 3**
and it can give you a certain power to make it happen.
**Speaker 3**
Very useful stuff.
**Speaker 3**
I like to tell you this because then you start to dream a little bit.
**Speaker 3**
And it's all true.
**Speaker 3**
And it's all like very, very close to you.
**Speaker 3**
It's like at the tip of your fingers.
**Speaker 3**
All you have to do is practice a little bit all of the stuff that we're teaching you about
**Speaker 3**
the inner body and about emptiness.

You could touch it for yourself, just like you felt the Ajna Chakra for yourself.

I wanted to talk about this culture, Shana, Shana Ardha, Shana Ardha.

Shana and Tibetan is legitimate. It means I'm finished now.

Right?

Ardha means half of that.

So it means like, pretty quick.

They say if you can touch the top for just that long,

then basically you would get in life. And then elsewhere you see and say, "You can charge

you how to take six months you'll get in life." "Nasachaya" which means "Do Dao,
**Speaker 2**
Tantong Me" you say that, you know, "Beyondini Dao" you will get in life. And so, I wanted
**Speaker 2**
I wanted to talk a little bit about that. In the yogic scriptures they offer to graduate on purpose.
**Speaker 2**
If some of you are going to study, you're going to have the honor of studying the book on the Central Channel in the next few years.
**Speaker 2**
It's a great secret book in the Dutch church by the earliest doctors.
**Speaker 2**
And in there they give instructions for holding attentions, how long to hold your breath.
**Speaker 2**
They up it every day. You know, you start with one minute, you know, by the end of the week you're doing seven minutes.
**Speaker 1**
The other two weeks you're doing half an hour. You know?
**Speaker 2**
And they're very serious. It's all put down exactly, you know, for like 40 weeks ahead.
**Speaker 2**
And if you try it, you will die. I tried it. I tried it. I went into a treat. I had to live my mom and I said, "Opa no."
**Speaker 2**
No matter what I do, it was for me. I had a million times. And it didn't work.
**Speaker 2**
So, uh, well, it's a tradition, and it dates, you look back to the, uh, they call it Manjushri Sanghiti Nama.
**Speaker 2**
It's the first book in the secret section of the practice in their country, in the Tibetan canon of 2,000 secret works.
**Speaker 2**
It's the first book. And in that book they, they screw up the instructions.
**Speaker 2**
They take the instructions like 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, and they throw them in the hat and then they pull them out one by one and they wear them both like that.

And it was, these are all methods to discourage what?
**Speaker 2**
I'm not trying to do without a teacher. They are all methods by which the tantra, and again, Yomgai practices tantra.
**Speaker 2**
And they are ways of discouraging unauthorized use of scriptures.
**Speaker 2**
So there will be a lot of claims in the scriptures. They'll tell you to do something you can't possibly do.
**Speaker 2**
Hopefully you'll fail and then go look for a teacher to explain to you what to do.
**Speaker 2**
But then sometimes in scripture when it says something will happen within an instant,
**Speaker 2**
the lawless explain it differently. It's there all of what's happening within an instant.
**Speaker 2**
Here, they're talking about the direct perception of infinites.
**Speaker 2**
This is an experience that doesn't take more than 20 minutes.
**Speaker 2**
You're not aware during that time of the passage of time.
**Speaker 2**
Because time is not ultimate reality.
**Speaker 2**
During this time, during the direct perception of infinites,
**Speaker 2**
which is the purpose of this whole chapter, and the next chapter,
**Speaker 2**
The whole purpose of all the yogi practices in this chapter, you've got to see anything.
**Speaker 2**
So, when it really happens to you, you're not aware of the fact that you're part.
**Speaker 2**
You cannot be, because time is not ultimate reality.
**Speaker 2**
You're also not aware that you are singing it.
**Speaker 2**
You're not aware of that, because being aware of yourself is also not ultimate reality.
**Speaker 2**
You're just indirect believing in ultimate reality.
**Speaker 2**
And there's no sensation of the passage of time.
**Speaker 2**
There's no awareness of yourself thinking.
**Speaker 2**
You can't say, "What? I did anything else. Yeah, yeah, yeah. I knew you."
**Speaker 2**
You know, that kind of doctorate.
**Speaker 2**
Because you're not aware of anything. No more often.
**Speaker 2**
All of the obvious things we have now is going to.
**Speaker 2**
You can't - You're not -
**Speaker 2**
You're not aware of anything except ultimately.
**Speaker 2**
Time passes 10-20 minutes.
**Speaker 2**
If you can spend 10-20 minutes in that meditative state,
**Speaker 2**
you can, within a very short time, become a being who can save every living creature in you.
**Speaker 2**
If you can spend that 10-20 minutes in that way,
**Speaker 2**
Because of the power of what you want to see, within a very short time,
**Speaker 2**
we will become a being who can protect countless beings, countless lives.
**Speaker 2**
So, that's always interesting in that billions upon billions of life-lives you have, countless life-lives.
**Speaker 2**
There's countless lives.
**Speaker 2**
You've been billions upon billions of years.
**Speaker 2**
So what's ten minutes?
**Speaker 2**
See, what's ten minutes?
**Speaker 2**
Just shun our dark.
**Speaker 1**
Just a second.
**Speaker 2**
Then typically, to tell you the truth, sometimes I don't tell people.
**Speaker 2**
It takes down my hands for me.
**Speaker 2**
Typically, they call it a Lenten law in the scriptures.
**Speaker 2**
And it's true.
**Speaker 2**
So, if you've seen that object directly, if you've had that experience directly, then within, surely within sound like that.
**Speaker 2**
Very typically within sound like that. If you've practiced tantrum within that same background, you will become a guy.
**Speaker 2**
you will have the ability to stand on countless planets at the same moment and speak to countless beings
**Speaker 2**
at the same time as a protection of the country.
**Speaker 2**
It's this huge mother complex that we all want to do.
**Speaker 2**
So if you think about that, in that context, four persons have seen that to the story, seven lifetimes in a month.
**Speaker 2**
You see, like you get impatient on a boss, or you get a little bit trapped, right?
**Speaker 2**
Or you get impatient waiting for a letter or a phone call.
**Speaker 2**
But a person who has seen this thing, in seven lifetimes it's nothing.
**Speaker 2**
This is what, 490 years or something.
**Speaker 2**
It's just nothing.
**Speaker 2**
It passes like a moment.
**Speaker 2**
It just means like a moment inside.
**Speaker 2**
Shalama. So in those senses, the 10 minutes have to go into the earth. And the 7th night time
**Speaker 2**
have to count as ours. It's half a black time. It's a blessing to you.

Isn't it cool that we could turn the practice of turning your tongue upside down into talking
**Speaker 3**
about very presentative?

I'm not, I'm not.

soil them, the Lord of death will never strike them.

So, yeah, now we're talking about someone who's actually danced in the sky of their own mind,

someone who's actually gone into their life, someone who's actually seen emptiness directly.

What's it like?

in one sense

after you see emptiness directly
**Speaker 3**
none of your
**Speaker 3**
old karmic
**Speaker 3**
seeds ever have to go off
**Speaker 3**
like you've got billions
**Speaker 3**
and billions and billions of karmas
**Speaker 3**
inside of your heart
**Speaker 3**
you've got billions and billions of mental inference
**Speaker 3**
like every single second
**Speaker 3**
you produce 65 of them
**Speaker 3**
so how many do you have?
**Speaker 3**
You've lived for endless times.
**Speaker 3**
How many are still there?
**Speaker 3**
There's a lot from a lot of different lifetimes.
**Speaker 3**
They're all stored up in there.
**Speaker 3**
Some of them are really good and some of them are really bad
**Speaker 3**
and some of them are just, you know, neutral.
**Speaker 3**
Once you've actually seen emptiness directly,
**Speaker 3**
the charge that makes karmas go off is ignorance.
**Speaker 3**
And so we say once you see emptiness directly, they're no longer loaded.
**Speaker 3**
You know, all those karmic seeds, they don't have the activating force to set them off.
**Speaker 3**
So you don't ever have to deal with them again.
**Speaker 3**
All of those negative seeds that could send you to a hell realm, you don't have to, you never have to go.
**Speaker 3**
You never have to go.
**Speaker 3**
You never have to experience all the things that you did before you found out about karma and emptiness.
**Speaker 3**
You know, all those things that you wish you knew when you were a child.
**Speaker 3**
And, I don't know, I spent a lot of time during my three-year retreat thinking about the things that I said to people in high school.
**Speaker 3**
I was like, "Oh, that was so mean!"
**Speaker 3**
And if I had known about karma and emptiness, I never would have done that!
**Speaker 3**
And, you know, after a while, if you practice this long enough, you'll realize there's stuff in there that you're kind of scared of.
**Speaker 3**
Like, things came out in three-year retreat that I did not expect, that I didn't feel like was me.
**Speaker 3**
Like, yeah, I have an expense of the me of the moment, but there's so many things lodged deep inside there that are part of me of the past
**Speaker 3**
that I don't really even have a conscious awareness of.
**Speaker 3**
And when it comes out, sometimes it's quite shocking.
**Speaker 3**
So don't think that you're just the person that you see yourself living right now.
**Speaker 3**
You've got tons and tons and tons of seats stored in there.
**Speaker 3**
And some of them are not so good.
**Speaker 3**
So when they say, oh, you no longer have to deal with your karma seats,
**Speaker 3**
it's like, wow, for people who really know what that means, it's such a big deal.
**Speaker 3**
It's like, oh, thank God, you know.
**Speaker 3**
I'll see it's missed directly just with that.
**Speaker 3**
So, and then eventually, you use your understanding, once you've seen them to distract you, you
**Speaker 3**
use your understanding to systematically go and destroy any negative karma in your heart.
**Speaker 3**
You just destroy the seeds, you know, using the four powers.
**Speaker 3**
And that's the path of habituation.
**Speaker 3**
And that's the last path before you get in life.
**Speaker 3**
Once you see empty distrugly, that's all your job, really,
**Speaker 3**
is to clean up your heart so that all the seeds that you see are pure.
**Speaker 3**
All the things that are ripening around you are pure.
**Speaker 3**
You no longer see stuff like beans.
**Speaker 3**
You see holy angels in front of you instead.
**Speaker 3**
Even before you see emptiness strike you, if you have a good understanding of emptiness, you can practice this.

When it says the Lord of death will never strike them, in one way it's talking about actual physical death, but in another way it's talking about everything that has to die.

Why do things die?

Why do things die?

Why do people die?
**Speaker 3**
Why do things die?
**Speaker 3**
Why do things wear out?
**Speaker 3**
Why do buildings wear out?

Why does a rose have to die?

Why does this rose have to die?

Well, where is the seed of this rose?

Where is the seed?
**Speaker 3**
It's completely gone.
**Speaker 3**
Right?
**Speaker 3**
It was destroyed.
**Speaker 3**
The seed was destroyed when the flower bloomed.
**Speaker 3**
Right?
**Speaker 3**
There is no more seed.
**Speaker 3**
There is no more potential for a rose out there.
**Speaker 3**
That's what it means to be a seed for a rose.
**Speaker 3**
It's like a potential for a rose.
**Speaker 3**
Now the potential for a rose has been destroyed with the birth of the rose.
**Speaker 3**
The birth of the rose killed the potential for a rose.
**Speaker 3**
You see?
**Speaker 3**
The birth of the rose killed the seed that makes roses.
**Speaker 3**
So it killed itself by being born.
**Speaker 3**
It killed itself by flowering, by blooming.
**Speaker 3**
The rose killed itself.
**Speaker 3**
And that's how every single thing in our life is.
**Speaker 3**
Because they all come from karmic seeds,
**Speaker 3**
every single thing in your life,
**Speaker 3**
the birth of it is like it's destruction.
**Speaker 3**
It's killing itself.
**Speaker 3**
As soon as we were born, that was the flag.
**Speaker 3**
Oh, you're going to die.
**Speaker 3**
You know, because the karma for this life or for this birth, the seed for it, it got destroyed in your birth.
**Speaker 3**
It got destroyed when you were born.
**Speaker 3**
So everything is like that.
**Speaker 3**
You meet somebody.
**Speaker 3**
You have a beautiful new relationship.
**Speaker 3**
You're killing it.
**Speaker 3**
It's like the dust of it. Just as soon as you first come in contact with them, the first moment your eyes laid on their eyes, boom. It killed it. Right? It's so depressing.

It's because the seeds flower and then the results, they last for a certain amount of time and then they wear off.
**Speaker 3**
But it doesn't have to be that way. It doesn't have to be that way.
**Speaker 3**
In the Yoga Sutra, what does it say? Does anyone remember? Karma? No, not that one.
**Speaker 3**
The one about black and white karma.
**Speaker 3**
Yeah, who said that?
**Speaker 3**
Yeah.
**Speaker 3**
Karma shukla akrshna.
**Speaker 3**
Yogina.
**Speaker 3**
What does it mean?

It says yogis don't have black or white karma.
**Speaker 3**
What does that mean?
**Speaker 3**
Yogis don't have good karma or yogis don't have bad karma?
**Speaker 3**
Yogis don't have shikara karma.
**Speaker 3**
Yogis don't have kurshna karma.
**Speaker 3**
Why?
**Speaker 3**
Because that kind of karma wears out.
**Speaker 3**
That kind of karma wears out.
**Speaker 3**
In Tibet we call it sakje kule.
**Speaker 3**
It's impure karma.
**Speaker 3**
It's the kind of karma you do,
**Speaker 3**
it's the kind of seed that's planted with ignorance.
**Speaker 3**
You're nice to somebody.
**Speaker 3**
You see a homeless person on the street, you give them money for food, or maybe you go buy the food.
**Speaker 3**
Then you get a dinner back.
**Speaker 3**
You don't understand where the dinner came from.
**Speaker 3**
So that's impure good karma.
**Speaker 3**
You're going to eat the food, it's going to wear out,
**Speaker 3**
and the karma, the karmic seed that you got from helping that person is dead.
**Speaker 3**
It's over with. It's gone, and you'll never see it again,
**Speaker 3**
and maybe you'll go hungry next week.
**Speaker 3**
Unless you go have somebody else.
**Speaker 3**
But yogis don't live that way.
**Speaker 3**
Yogis are constantly conscious of the good needs that they do.
**Speaker 3**
So yogis, like when they give somebody a meal,
**Speaker 3**
or when they give somebody money to go get a meal,
**Speaker 3**
or when they take care of somebody,
**Speaker 3**
they're aware that they're planting a karmic seed in their mind.
**Speaker 3**
And what does that do when you get the dinner back?
**Speaker 3**
You realize, oh, that must have been from last week when I helped that homeless person get a dinner.
**Speaker 3**
And wow, now I have my favorite meal here.
**Speaker 3**
Someone just brought it for me.
**Speaker 3**
It was so nice.
**Speaker 3**
And you see the karmic connection between the two.
**Speaker 3**
And what does that make you want to do?
**Speaker 3**
Go feed people more.
**Speaker 3**
Right?
**Speaker 3**
It makes you want to perpetuate the karma.
**Speaker 3**
So that's why there's impure karma and then there's pure karma.
**Speaker 3**
There's sakmehubay, if that's it.
**Speaker 3**
We don't even call it karma when you're doing that now.
**Speaker 3**
Like they give it a totally different word.
**Speaker 3**
They give it the word of collection, a collection of good deeds.
**Speaker 3**
Because you're so aware of what you're doing that you create a habit for continuing to do that thing
**Speaker 3**
And then the karmic cycle becomes this incredible upward spiral.
**Speaker 3**
And you can't stop yourself giving away food to other people.
**Speaker 3**
It's like now burned into your brain.
**Speaker 3**
Like, I must give food to other people.
**Speaker 3**
And it's a beautiful process of slowly getting to enlightenment.
**Speaker 3**
You know, where you get on these upward spirals.
**Speaker 3**
So, if you're a yogi, then every single thing that you do during the day, like we've got
**Speaker 3**
white karma, black karma, and neutral karma, right?
**Speaker 3**
Like white karma would be this beautiful space.
**Speaker 3**
I love those little circle things.
**Speaker 3**
They have it at all to exhale.
**Speaker 3**
In fact, that probably sold us on why we wanted to have our glass and exhale yoga is that
**Speaker 3**
little circle thing.
**Speaker 3**
It's so zen and so simple and nice and white-haired.
**Speaker 3**
And I just love this place. I really do. I love the atmosphere.
**Speaker 3**
So that's a good white karma for me, right?
**Speaker 3**
Then the black karma is like, well, it's kind of hot in here.
**Speaker 3**
So it's like, okay, so that's the navy karma.
**Speaker 3**
But then there's all this neutral stuff.
**Speaker 3**
Like, I don't know, the color of the wallpaper in the bathroom.
**Speaker 3**
You know, you don't really care one way or another, you just want to go.
**Speaker 3**
Or like the dress of the person sitting like five rows behind you.
**Speaker 3**
Like the pattern of it.
**Speaker 3**
It's like all this random stuff that you could care less about.
**Speaker 3**
It's all from neutral karma.
**Speaker 3**
It's all just from ignorance.
**Speaker 3**
Well, all of that could be different in your reality.
**Speaker 3**
all of it could be totally shifted if you were acting in some kind of mindful yogi way constantly.
**Speaker 3**
Instead of just going through your life in a, I don't know, asleep all the time,
**Speaker 3**
in a sleep way all the time, like I need to get my breakfast, I need to dress myself,
**Speaker 3**
I need to brush my teeth, I need to go to work.
**Speaker 3**
If you were doing it in a way that was mindful,
**Speaker 3**
if you were doing it in a way that you were consciously collecting pure good deeds
**Speaker 3**
with every movement that you made,
**Speaker 3**
then you would start to shift.
**Speaker 3**
All of those mutual karmas around you would start to be
**Speaker 3**
different karmas,
**Speaker 3**
karmas that would get you to enlightenment.
**Speaker 3**
What do I mean?
**Speaker 3**
Say you're eating breakfast.
**Speaker 3**
And this is what it means when people do grace over their food.
**Speaker 3**
Like, instead of just eating the food for yourself,
**Speaker 3**
you would do the same act with a totally different intention.
**Speaker 3**
You would take your breakfast cereal, we like Cheerios,
**Speaker 3**
take your Cheerios, your bowl of Cheerios,
**Speaker 3**
and you would say in your mind,
**Speaker 3**
I'm going to eat this bowl of Cheerios so that I can be of service to every single living
**Speaker 3**
being.
**Speaker 3**

were eating it, imagine what kind of karmic seeds you would be planting if every single

action that you did during the day was actually for the sake of other people.

What if it was for the sake of getting everybody on the earth enlightened?

I'm going to eat my breakfast cereal so that I can reach a state of enlightenment

so that I can help every single other living being.
**Speaker 3**
Now, the act of eating your breakfast cereal becomes like laden with power.
**Speaker 3**
It has this power.
**Speaker 3**
The Cheerios suddenly have power.
**Speaker 3**
And then when you eat it, you know, it's like charged with all this, like, that's how you do collecting, you know, collection.
**Speaker 3**
That's how you do pure great karma of a yogi.

You take something that's normally neutral, or you take something that's good, like giving food away to somebody,

or you even take something that's bad and you turn it around.
**Speaker 3**
be totally transforming into a completely pure act for the sake of every living being.
**Speaker 3**
You know, a completely pure act that's actually going to get you, your Cheerios are going to get you enlightened now.

And now every single, you know, thing in your whole universe becomes a different thing.
**Speaker 3**
It becomes a potential thing that you could use to get yourself enlightened so you could help other beings faster.

And nothing is neutral anymore. Nothing is neutral. Everything is charged.

Everything has that potential to help you get enlightened as fast as possible because they're all waiting for you.

And that's the kind of thing that people who understand emptiness, that people who actually experience the kechari dancing in the sky of their own minds, that's how they act.
