**Speaker 1**
Actually, the chakra was just between the eyebrows, or an inch, maybe an inch, or an inch.
**Speaker 1**
So you don't think it's painted under?
**Speaker 1**
Like, people in India paint a vindo here, but it's to represent a spot which is like an inch in.
**Speaker 1**
I think my pain is locked in.
**Speaker 1**
To me, okay?
**Speaker 1**
And if you meditate and if you focus your mind about an ancient in,
**Speaker 1**
you suddenly have to take concentration time and you can go much deeper in concentration.
**Speaker 1**
And that's because the upper opening of the center channel is here.
**Speaker 1**
One of our lamas, Kishipi Chinyo-chan, who trained us in Naropa's practices together, trained us together,
**Speaker 1**
he said it actually comes down here and it curves them faces outwards so it opens like a circle.
**Speaker 1**
And there are practices we'll be doing there.
**Speaker 1**
But the two side channels come down along the side, and they cross around in separate directions,
**Speaker 1**
and then they come down all the way around here, cross, come back, and then they continue down to here.
**Speaker 1**
Do you see people concentrating and they're scratching the other side of the room?
**Speaker 1**
They're actually stimulating them. It's very interesting.
**Speaker 1**
at the end of the sun-channel, and if you smile, seriously, it loosens this area, it
**Speaker 1**
loosens this chakra, it opens this chakra. It's healthy for you to smile. It's good for your
**Speaker 1**
chakras. It's good for this opening at the end. So, we are trying to concentrate the
**Speaker 1**
mind. And we're trying to stimulate this area. That has sort of a suction effect. Like if
**Speaker 1**
you take a McDonald's straw, it's not a McFlurry, okay? It's more like a gnosine. But the McFlurry
**Speaker 1**
It will stick you to it.
**Speaker 1**
You hold the upper end of the straw, right?
**Speaker 1**
And then you pick it up, and then the suction will keep the liquid in the straw, right?
**Speaker 1**
And then when you release that, it releases down.
**Speaker 1**
The milkshake flows out of the straw, right?
**Speaker 1**
We're doing the same thing here.
**Speaker 1**
See? By concentrating the mind, and if you can, a physical touch on this opening,
**Speaker 1**
You are feeling it. It's a mudra. Right? You are feeling it.
**Speaker 1**
And then what he says is semen will not so much.
**Speaker 1**
Maybe if a really sexy lady is like banging out with her or something.
**Speaker 1**
And, but the idea, the release of semen is a sign that the Atana Vyar is operative.
**Speaker 1**
You see? The downward tearing wind. That is called Tursa Gino.
**Speaker 1**
Say "Tinsa"
**Speaker 1**
"Tinsa"
**Speaker 1**
"Tinsa"
**Speaker 1**
That's the bayou or the wind that allows the elimination of the sun of the body through the lower movies of the body.
**Speaker 1**
And one of the important practices of yoga is to reverse the flow of that wind, so it moves upwards,
**Speaker 1**
and then to lock the flow of the upward moving wind, called "ginger-gyu"
**Speaker 1**
sometimes they say the Pada Vaya is simple,
**Speaker 1**
how to seal it with a Jala Nara, which we'll get to later.
**Speaker 1**
So you're sealing the top and you're sealing the bottom.
**Speaker 1**
In this case, you're sealing the top like this jaw here.
**Speaker 1**
In the Pada Vaya cannot move out.
**Speaker 1**
If you're doing a good job at it,
**Speaker 1**
then even if you really have to go to the bathroom,
**Speaker 1**
even if you really have to go to the bathroom,
**Speaker 1**
even if you were having your period,
**Speaker 1**
Or if you were about to lose semen, it wouldn't come out.
**Speaker 1**
So, it's not the point that sowers are trying to retain semen, which will come.
**Speaker 1**
But you're actually trying to retain the mint, which lies below the semen.
**Speaker 1**
Semen is a gross expression of what we call a whiteout, which is a much more subtle substance in the body.
**Speaker 1**
But if you lose semen, you lose the white element.
**Speaker 1**
The white element is connected to the downward turning in.
**Speaker 1**
If you lose semen, you lose the white element, you lose the downward turning in.
**Speaker 1**
It releases.
**Speaker 1**
And then the whole idea of inner fire is oil.
**Speaker 1**
You can't make an inner fire.
**Speaker 1**
Because that involves reversing that downward wind and pushing it up into the middle area.
**Speaker 1**
So if you release, then you have lost that power. So a yogi is trying to restrain that part of the way to do it is to feel the strong power.
**Speaker 1**
Okay? That's what they discussed. So you can raise the ADA flag.
**Speaker 1**
I remember when we were sitting running this subject in the monastery and
**Speaker 1**
Christine Barrett got ahead and asked, "Is this a title of women off the line?"
**Speaker 1**
And he said, "Yeah, so the price also to the structural flows that are won't equally
**Speaker 1**
equally in the class. So why did they mention them? These texts were mostly written for
**Speaker 1**
men. It was a patriarchal system for many centuries. It was passed down among men, even
**Speaker 1**
until recent times. Only in this generation have a lot of women, aside from the UMA, broken
**Speaker 1**
into the yoga scene in such a big way. And our teachers are very excited about it. And
**Speaker 1**
So, again, as we move through the text, we'll have to clarify how women do certain practices,
**Speaker 1**
what they press on to get the same effect.
**Speaker 1**
Hugh does same to it, I think.
**Speaker 2**
The initiative to worship was always very proud of me for doing my Vagyo-beenie practice so well
**Speaker 2**
And then when he found out I was left handed, like it went off the toes, you know?
**Speaker 2**
It was like, I got to make my mama happy without ever doing anything and show up and like he's already happy with me.
**Speaker 2**
It was so nice.
**Speaker 2**
So, yeah, he was.
**Speaker 2**
Um, we're going on to the next verse.
**Speaker 2**
I'm sorry, okay.
**Speaker 2**
Chaito
**Speaker 2**
And whenever the essential drop shifts coming to the sphere of the vagina, then the movement upwards is lost.
**Speaker 2**
Restrain it then with force using the vagina seal.
**Speaker 2**
So basically these two verses are both talking about the same thing.
**Speaker 2**
You know, there are certain practices in this yoga tradition and in the highest level of this tradition
**Speaker 2**
where we were talking about before, mudra as a seal is actually talking about a seal between two bodies
**Speaker 2**
and now a seal is one body.
**Speaker 2**
You know, where you would practice your Buddha practice with a partner.
**Speaker 2**
And you would use what they call the path of desire.
**Speaker 2**
Which is interesting because we were just talking about Soma yesterday.
**Speaker 2**
And in one sense you could think of Soma being the milky white substance that runs through the left hand channel.
**Speaker 2**
That is responsible for all of our feelings of desire.
**Speaker 2**
And instead of thinking of that as a negative thing, instead of using it, trying to get rid of it, you kind of channel it.
**Speaker 2**
Like you bring that energy of desire inside the central channel.
**Speaker 2**
And you use it to fire the flame in the central channel below the navel.
**Speaker 2**
And there's practices to this.
**Speaker 2**
and a lot of them, some of them involve imagining a partner, some of them involve an actual partner.
**Speaker 2**
Why? Why would you do this?
**Speaker 2**
The only purpose for any of these practices is so that we can see emptiness directly,
**Speaker 2**
so that we can get the winds inside the central channel,
**Speaker 2**
so that we too could become angel beings of light who could go around in multiple bodies and save all the beings.
**Speaker 2**
That's the only reason anybody would ever want to do these practices.
**Speaker 2**
So, you know, as a teacher, you know, your particular mama or guru would be evaluating you quite strongly to think, you know,
**Speaker 2**
will they use these practices for the right purpose?
**Speaker 2**
After they know that he's a person who wants to receive enlightenment and who would use these practices for the benefit of all their beings,
**Speaker 2**
then they would teach you these practices.
**Speaker 2**
and that they are passed down orally in small groups with your own root murder.
**Speaker 2**
And so we're not going to cover them here.
**Speaker 2**
But one thing that I can say is that when...
**Speaker 2**
The process of realizing that you don't actually walk to the door is kind of scary.
**Speaker 2**
The process of realizing that you don't actually have a body is kind of scary.
**Speaker 2**
And the process of realizing that you are not really you is really scary.
**Speaker 2**
So actually deconstructing every single thing in your universe
**Speaker 2**
and realizing that they're all a projection and nothing has any actual nature of its own,
**Speaker 2**
it can be viscerally quite frightening.
**Speaker 2**
And we tend to not want to go there.
**Speaker 2**
And we tend to want to hold on to it, especially ourselves.
**Speaker 2**
Like that's the last thing.
**Speaker 2**
That's the hardest thing.
**Speaker 2**
You don't want to lose your own identity.
**Speaker 2**
You don't want to see that you are also empty.
**Speaker 2**
It's scary.
**Speaker 2**
So you use the path of bliss to get you beyond the fear.
**Speaker 2**
Like, you're using this feeling of bliss to get your wings into the center channel.
**Speaker 2**
Right?
**Speaker 2**
because that's what it means to get the wind into the central channel.
**Speaker 2**
You start to have a feeling of blissful feeling.
**Speaker 2**
And when your mind is focused on the feeling of bliss,
**Speaker 2**
you cannot have that fear about letting go of your own identity.
**Speaker 2**
So it's one of the ways that it's like a skillful means
**Speaker 2**
to use bliss as a tool to get us to see an interesting story.
**Speaker 2**
It unlocks our clenchedness on this fake identity that we think we must protect, that we think we must hold on to for dear life or it's going to go away.
**Speaker 2**
If you're in the middle of bliss, you're not going to worry about that so much and you can let it go.
**Speaker 2**
So it's a very powerful means.
**Speaker 2**
It's a very powerful, skillful means.
**Speaker 2**
And it's for very, very specific purposes.
**Speaker 2**
It's not just because people like to have a fun time in their meditation.
**Speaker 2**
It's also very helpful, though, because you should have a very pleasurable object of meditation
**Speaker 2**
that you want to go on your cushion every single day for at least an hour a day.
**Speaker 2**
And it gets people on their cushion, too, which I also really quite like,
**Speaker 2**
because I don't like hearing people say that they don't meditate every day.
**Speaker 2**
If it gets you on their cushion, I'm all for that, too.
**Speaker 2**
So this is talking about, like Geshe-Mango said, the movement upwards.
**Speaker 2**
This is talking about the apana vayu, the downward clearing wind, reversing this process.
**Speaker 2**
And this is really valuable in getting the inner fire to rise up to the tip of the head and then melting down the white element.
**Speaker 2**
If the white element melts down too far, then you're going to douse it in the fire.
**Speaker 2**
You're going to get rid of it.
**Speaker 2**
So you actually have to stop it at a certain point.
**Speaker 2**
Before it gets all the way down, you have to stop it at a certain point.
**Speaker 2**
And then you have to resist the process again.
**Speaker 2**
And that's what this verse is talking about.
**Speaker 2**
And that's a certain meditation practice within what we were just talking about that we're not going to go into too much detail here.
**Speaker 2**
But one point that you can get from this is that any kind of release of orgasm for both men and women is a release of prana, it's like a loss of prana.
**Speaker 2**
You're mostly just losing your energy. You're mostly just losing your chronic energy for other practices.
**Speaker 2**
So, and then normally in the act of sexual fulfillment, like your channel opens up and then it closes down even tighter.
**Speaker 2**
Mostly because it's involved in some kind of self-satisfaction.
**Speaker 2**
You know, you're focused on selfish, like you're pleasing yourself.
**Speaker 2**
And so it clenches down even higher afterwards.
**Speaker 2**
So there's beautiful practices that you can do of abstaining from sexual interaction with other people.
**Speaker 2**
Even if you are in a relationship with somebody else, even if you have a partner, it's a really
**Speaker 2**
sweet practice.
**Speaker 2**
Like you decide to take a certain amount of time, say you're going on a retreat, or maybe
**Speaker 2**
you're just, you want to, you want to rejuvenate yourself.
**Speaker 2**
You want to have a little bit more life energy.
**Speaker 2**
So you talk to your partner, or if you don't have a partner, excuse me, you don't have
**Speaker 2**
to talk to them.
**Speaker 2**
Talking to them could be quite difficult.
**Speaker 2**
I've talked to partners where one person is really excited about the practice and the other person is like...
**Speaker 2**
You know, I'm just crazy.
**Speaker 2**
So, you know, if you don't have a partner maybe it's a little bit of a blessing in this game.
**Speaker 2**
But, you know, we just did these beautiful vows of celibacy at Dinamonten.
**Speaker 2**
Where we gave celibacy vows for three months.
**Speaker 2**
And everybody dressed in these beautiful white clothes in the hall.
**Speaker 2**
It's like, I don't know, it's about, I don't know, three times as big as this room,
**Speaker 2**
and they're all full of people just like you, but they're all in white.
**Speaker 2**
Everybody was in white, and it was so beautiful.
**Speaker 2**
And we all took these boughs together, and it's such a sweet practice.
**Speaker 2**
And most of them in the room had partners.
**Speaker 2**
Most of the people in the room did it with their spiritual partner.
**Speaker 2**
And they just decided they were going to preserve their sexual energy,
**Speaker 2**
and they're going to abstain from a lot of sexual contact for the next three months and see what happens.
**Speaker 2**
It's an exploration in prana. It's an exploration in pranic energy.
**Speaker 2**
And you, um, I've had some remarkable responses from people even in like the last three weeks.
**Speaker 2**
There was one person, they said, "Celabus is so sexy."
**Speaker 2**
Yeah, it really is, you know.
**Speaker 2**
One thing people noticed when they had a partner was that, like, now they're totally conscious of every single touch.
**Speaker 2**
You know, you get to a habitual pattern of your partner, and it's kind of like, oh, I, I mean, you know what I'm saying.
**Speaker 2**
You know, you don't, you get these habits, and it kind of breaks the habit, and it makes every single, like, hand-holding kind of special to get it.
**Speaker 2**
Like it was way, way back in the beginning, you know?
**Speaker 2**
And it makes everything like you're gazing at each other's eyes again instead of, you know, it's interesting.
**Speaker 2**
It's very interesting, especially for, I think, for couples to practice this like for a month or a few months at a time.
**Speaker 2**
Just as an experiment and see how much energy you have left for your spiritual life
**Speaker 2**
and how much you can channel into your day and into your practice with each other.
**Speaker 2**
You know?
**Speaker 2**
Mmm.
**Speaker 2**
Anyway, so many yogis practice Selda Zee all the time.
**Speaker 2**
You know?
**Speaker 2**
Just like in the Hatha Yoga Panifika, there are several lineages I've studied with where
**Speaker 2**
they won't teach this to anybody but celibate yogis.
**Speaker 2**
Because they think it's a waste of time.
**Speaker 2**
So it's something to think about.
**Speaker 2**
It is a powerful force.
**Speaker 2**
The sexual energy is a really powerful force and you can use it.
**Speaker 2**
And you should know how to utilize it in your body.
**Speaker 2**
Because it's like something you were born with that's a gift that you should be able to show.
**Speaker 2**
So that's all I have to say about that.
**Speaker 2**
Thank you.
**Speaker 1**
Amen.
