<iframe src="https://drive.google.com/file/d/1DccHhBKClkwa8RqzNlA3ky2t6IEHw-2t/preview" width="100%" height="80" allow="autoplay"></iframe> I'll start with an offering of thanks for this holy pure lineage coming to us, and then a prayer to set our intention for the class. Satsang with Mooji Shri-la- Satsang with Mooji So, I'll start with the meditation. Everybody, try and get into a comfortable seated position. In a place where you can hold your body still for a good period of time. Then let your body settle into that position and fall still and in silence. Still the body and you still the mind. Make sure your back is straight. Close your eyes. And then focus on the place at the tip of the nose. watch the air as it flows out and then back into your body. Try to keep a single point of concentration. your mind starts to wander then just gently bring it back to the breath, the point at the tip of your nose. Thank you. Aplausos. Now we are going to call a Holy Angel to come and sit before us. Picture that you are in a room alone sitting with the most beautiful exquisite creature you can imagine, body blazing in life, the most attractive being you've ever seen. They are sitting right across from you, close enough to touch. First the outline of their form. their perfect holy body. Next, bring your gaze up to the exquisite beautiful place. You are in awe at their bidding. they are gazing at you as of such love makes your heart melt You can smell a sweet scent coming from their body. You can feel the heat coming off of them. You look into their eyes, you realize they are madly in line with you. in the purest possible way. And you ask them to help you, to bless you, to take you to enlightenment as quickly as powerful. And they reach out to you. They come and kiss you on the forehead, grant their blessing to your body to become an angel's body like them. Then they kiss your lips, grant you an angel's divine speech, pouring the highest teaching of the Dharma effortlessly out through you they reach out in touch your heart blessing your mind your heart to become like theirs wide open with pure love for every being stretching out infinite beings knowing their thoughts knowing what they need. Then you fall into their holy embrace. Two angels joining and becoming as one. Bodies of light melting into each other. Thank you. Imagine now two halves of a whole, male and female energies join completely. the angel, neither one nor two. Okay, you can start to slowly open your eyes. Thank you. So that was a meditation on your imagined partner, right? Or the angel being of light. And if you have a partner, it's them in their ideal, most perfect, enlightened form, right? If you don't have a partner, then it's them that will come to you. And so either way, you can do that holy practice. And so this is the, we're actually on day three of our readings. And we're at Wednesday now. But we covered some of the stuff from the old classes. we're okay. But this particular class is all about practice with a partner, which we've been talking about for a couple of days. And one of the things we'd like to cover, which is not so explicitly stated in the Hatha Yoga Pradipika, is the importance of how we view a spiritual partner. And this meditation gives us a very good idea of the importance of seeing our partner as a holy being who can guide us. Because that's the difference really between a normal partnership and a spiritual partnership. It's you think that this person is going to get you to heaven. Right? And there's really no other reason why you're with them. It's, I mean, that's the basis of your partnership. It's like, let's make a deal. You take me to heaven, I'll take you. And it's not a problem that, like, you see yourself as a normal being and them as an angel, but they might see you as an angel and them as a normal being, and that's not a problem. And you can still simultaneously get each other to heaven because of emptiness. because of the beautiful understanding of emptiness. So we're going to talk about that. So your spiritual partner must be someone who has already traveled the paths of the channels and the winds and they already know everything perfectly. And that's the person you want to guide you, is a person who's done it themselves, a person who has already got the winds into their central channel and knows how it feels and knows the little triggers that it's going to take to get you there. You know, so are our partners equipped to handle that, right? Do you have a partner right now who has reached the ultimate goal, who has reached enlightenment itself? And everyone's like, oh, no, no, no, no. I know. Don't worry. If you don't think that your partner has that quality right now, you don't have to run out and drop them and get a new one. That's the magical thing about this practice, is that you can create the partner you need to take you to heaven, and that's the only way that it works. is that you use your understanding of karma and emptiness to make your partner into somebody who can take you to heaven. By taking them as your holy spiritual guide. By taking them as your holy teacher. What did we talk about last night? About the power of your teacher. Where does it come from? Yeah, people said, you, surrender, faith. Yes, all of those are right. The more you surrender to your teacher as a holy, enlightened guide that can take you to heaven, the more power they will have to do so. And that's just the way it works, karmically. You know, the more you try to see their enlightened qualities, the more enlightened qualities they start to have. Because you are planting seeds in your own mind to see them as purer and purer. Does your partner have enlightened qualities? No, yes. Your partner is as empty as New York City, right? There is no partner out there, independent from your perception of your partner. The only partner that exists is the partner that you perceive. Right? There is no base reality partner. There is no base reality lama. Right? There is no Geshe Michael. Aside from the Geshe Michael that you guys, like 200 people, are perceiving slightly differently with slightly different minds. There's 200 Geshe Michaels in this room and there's no Geshe Michael. Right? There's 200 Geshe Michael's in this room, and there's no Geshe Michael, including the perception he has of his own self. Right? And that's just another one of the 200. But there's no base reality. And your partner is the same way. There is no partner. There is no partner out there, and that's why you can create a perfect partner. That's why you can create the partner of your dreams, the partner that is the enlightened angel that will take you to heaven. How do you do it? You do it in the beginning by imagining. Plain, simple pretend. Like you go back to second grade. You call up your powers of imagination. You know, yeah, this is not a jungle gym. It's a spaceship. Like, you remember those days, right? I don't know. I remember those days really well. And then I get little decanies reminding me of those days. I think I should be around them more because, you know, such a precious time, childhood. You know, the days when you could actually go into a secret world and actually believe it existed. When you could actually have an imaginary friend that you believed in so much that they started to, like, move stuff in your room. You know? And then later people convinced you that that couldn't happen and it was impossible. and then you convinced yourself, oh yeah, I was just imagining it. The powers of imagination, because everything is coming from your own mind, because every single thing is a projection from your heart, are infinite. You imagine that your partner is a holy and lightened angel that's going to take you to heaven, and you know what happens? They start to become that for you. More and more. With every day. Right? So we stop, like, in the beginning it's hard because there's a discrepancy between the time you plant the seeds and the time when the seeds kind of give their results. So you'll have moments when, you know, you're planting the imaginary seeds of Holy and Light and being Buddha taking me to heaven and they're still doing normal things. I don't know, like, I don't know, pick their nose or something. I don't know, whatever normal things are. They pretend to get angry at you or something like that. And you have to fight against the normal view. You have to struggle and fight against this normal view. No, no, they're getting angry was just all part of the divine plan. And then you practice the view. And you hold on to it for dear life. it's really not them that's going to get you to heaven. It's the view of them. It's your own view of them that's going to take you to heaven. And it's the view that's going to save you. And it's the view that it's like your only lifeline. You know, like I am, I'm not going to waver from this view. No matter what you say, no matter what you do, you're an angel. You know, it's like you take this vow. It would be, you know, I think all spiritual partners should have that as part of their marriage vows, you know. Or maybe their only marriage vows, I don't know. I mean, it's the one and only thing that you need to get to enlightenment. It's like, you're an angel, whatever you do is helping me get to heaven. And then it becomes a matter of, why was that going to get me to heaven, you know? I'm just a normal human being, and I can't see the past, and I can't see the future directly. I can only see this tiny little space of time, which is the present moment in my present body. And I can't see the minds of other beings. So I don't know what your wholly expansive mind is like. And I don't know why you asked the cab driver to go down the street that was like 20 minutes slower when I told you to go down the other street. But there must be a reason. that directly relates to my enlightenment. You see? There's always a reason that directly relates to your enlightenment. Because once you enter on the spiritual partnership path, nothing is accidental about your spiritual partner. Everything is a divine plan to get you to heaven as quickly as possible. So then it becomes up to you to decipher the messages. You know? What message was it in the cab on the way, you know? And it's fun. Really, it's fun. At the beginning, it's hard, but it's fun. And the more you practice it, the more fun it gets. Why? Because it starts to come true. Right? You get in the beginning, you just get, like, glimpses. You're going to, you know, you're out for a normal dinner. It's like every other Friday night or Saturday night. And you're sitting across the table from them. and you're having a normal conversation and then all of a sudden out of their mouth comes the most holy divine message from God. You know? And you're like... And their eyes start to glow a little with light. You know? And you think you might see a halo and you're like, whoa. But then suddenly they switch back and they're like, pass the salt. You know? And you're like... I saw you. I know I saw you. You can't fool me. You know? But they do. they'll fool you. Every time they'll fool you. They're like, you'll fall for their normal tricks. Don't fall for their normal tricks. Don't buy it. Don't believe it. Because the more you hold the line, the stronger their angel power gets. Right. And then like what amazing life you have, then you're living with a holy angel and not just like some normal schmo, you know, like, and that's, isn't that what it's all about? And as the spiritual path progresses, life gets sweeter and sweeter and you start getting more and more divine things happening to you. Like, oh my God, I'm married to an angel. I didn't even know in the beginning, you know? Then like interesting things like all the normal stuff that you had happen in your relationship up to the point when you practice, you start revising it in your mind. Like, God, they couldn't have been a normal being. Even back then they weren't a normal being. I just didn't know it. And then the story just gets completely rewritten. And it's like the very first time they bumped into you, it wasn't an accident. You thought they just spilled the coffee, but in reality it was all a plot, a divine plan to get you to enlightenment every single step of the way. And that's crucial, crucial, crucial practice for practicing with a spiritual partner. And it's not directly stated in the Hatha Yoga Pranipika, But there are many, many, many texts about it in the Tibetan scriptures. And it's actually much more dwelled upon than the physical practices, which are what is in the Hatha Yoga Pradipika verses. Did I forget something? Oh, yeah. So, the other thing that I have to talk about is the difference between an imagined and an actual partner. You know, a lot of times, especially in the monastery, you know, with ordained people, they do practice with a partner, because yes, it is the highest way to get to enlightenment in this lifetime. And they would be harming living beings if they had the capacity to do so, and they did not do so. You see? And because they have compassion for living beings, they must take up these practices when they are ready. But a lot of times, oftentimes, they use imagined partners. Which is similar to what we did in the meditation today. You visualize the person in front of you affecting your channels and your winds and your drops. And depending on your amount of concentration in your meditation, it could be just as powerful, if not more powerful, than practicing with an outer partner. In fact, there are texts in the scriptures that say, people of lower capacity need an outer partner. People of higher capacity can do it in their minds. So I'll just pass that information on to you, because it's not completely necessary to use an external partner for these practices. You can have a very deep relationship with an imagined angel that becomes less and less imaginary every time you close your eyes. And that's something very much in our tradition, and it's something I think that you need to realize, because there might be times in your life when that is a more appropriate path for you. A path of the imagined partner. So I'll just give that to you as an option. And also it's helpful to know that it's not about a physical thing. It's about an inner wind thing, and a channels thing, and an element thing. And those things can be affected through meditation alone. So it gives you an inkling into the practice, the subtlety of the practice, and what we're really talking about here. Okay. Then Geshe Michael gets to do all the stuff, you know, racy stuff. Yeah. Are you cute? You know. Well, just by way of introduction, because I know there might be some new people today, This group has been going through this text for four years now. And it's about 500 years old. It is the best Indian text that we're aware of for learning the practical aspects of yoga. So it's like a textbook. It's the best. Yoga Sutra is the best book for Raja Yoga. mental, meditational, comprehensional yoga. But then Hatha Yoga Padipika, for Hatha, for physical yoga, it's the classic. And there's nothing that approaches it that we're aware of. All the modern schools of physical yoga come from the Hatha Yoga Padipika. And it's very, what do you call it? Comprehensive. It has all the practices of Hatha Yoga, physical yoga. So in the middle, there's a section on practice with a partner. I remember the first time I took a yoga class, which for me, I was almost 50, in the West, when I took my first yoga class. And then the teacher was touching me and pushing on me with her body. and, you know, pressing here and pressing there, and it was very uncomfortable, you know? It was very, especially for a monk, you know, it was very, I was like, I felt very tense, you know? Like, this doesn't, like, they're invading my space, you know? And it didn't seem, at the first time I took a yoga class, it seemed almost inappropriate. And then as I got to know yoga better, and how people teach yoga, I mean, today we went to a very nice class by Julie at Jivamukti. And you know, Jivamukti, they rub your ears for you, and they rub your toes for you, and, you know, then they beat you up and push you around. And then, now I just got used to it. Like, I don't have any, what do you call it? I don't have any social, society problems with it. You know, I know that's how yoga is taught, and I don't think she's trying to molest me or anything. you know, no, I'm just like, she's trying to move my hip up, I have a hip problem, I know that, you know, Mama Christy said, I always told you about the hip thing, and, and, uh, I didn't say that, and, uh, so now I just take it as, uh, it just seems very normal to me now, it seems very comfortable to me, it seems the way it should be, you know, and, and I think we're gonna now embark on practices which are done physically between men and women. By the way, they can also be done between gay people. It doesn't matter. It's a win practice. And they wouldn't think it was any more sexual than touching a woman's breast who had breast cancer to do the surgery. You know? Like, my mom had breast cancer. So I know that a doctor, whose name I don't know, cut her breasts off, you know? And I know also that he didn't have any, what do you call it? He wasn't like hitting on her while he's cutting her body, you know. It wasn't in his mind, it was something to save her life. And so when we teach these practices, because they're in the text, some people take them out. There are auditions that just take the verses out because they're shy, you know. The British took them out. During the 1900s, the verses were gone. As we go through them, think of them more as saving people's lives. It's no more sexual than a breast cancer operation. It's done between partners, and it has none of the connotations of sex in our society. Nothing. They didn't have that in ancient India. Even in modern India, they don't... Until America started beaming down this brainwashing sexual thing, they didn't have it. I mean, women would breastfeed their children in public, and no one thinks anything. Or women go to the Ganges and undress, and they go in, and nobody thinks anything. It's a Western thing to get people all thinking sexually and then tell them they shouldn't do that. You know? So, it's don't don't think like that we're just writing practices to save people's lives and that's all so we're going to do reading 3 verse 83 chapter 3 atavajrali svichaya vata manopi yogoktar niyamar vinar vajrali myo vijanati sayogi siddhi vajana even if a person engages in its practice just on his or her own accord, and even if he or she is lacking in the various commitments to proper conduct prescribed in the text about deep practice, still if they are able to develop the skill of the diamond fluid, then they are a yogi who is a worthy vessel for all attainments. So we're on to now, what practices are we in? The mudras. We're finishing the mudras from the third chapter. Ten mudras. And we just got done with an inversion, and before that we had a munabandha, and now it's just another mudra for them. Vajroli. Say Vajroli. Vajra means diamond. It can mean a diamond. It can mean a lightning bolt. I don't know if you've seen monks have a vajra and a bell. They hold this little thing that looks like, a vajra. And you hold it in one hand. It can represent love as opposed to wisdom. It can represent the male as opposed to the female, which is the bell. We have a bell. So the bell opens up like a female. And the vajra is like a man's organ. And sometimes in the secret language of the scriptures, the man's sexual organ is called a vajra. Vaj is a root that means to be full of life and to be full of energy. And very virile word. And then it comes into words like vigor or even awake comes from the same root. Like that. So vegetable comes from it. Vegetarian comes from it. Power. It means power. One of power. Okay? And it's interesting. I was in the diamond business. Natural diamonds form in, they're called twin crystals, octahedrons, which are exactly the same as the vajra that monks use. And I think originally they were designed from diamond crystals. So it came to mean diamond also. And in some parts of India and Tibet, it was thought that lightning had at its tip a little diamond. because when lightning hits a tree, it just explodes, you know, it just breaks it open. So they thought, well, what could cause that? It must have a diamond on the tip of it. So it came to mean thunderbolt also. So you can see that. So that's vajra. Oli or uli is a difficult root in Sanskrit, very rare, but it comes into English with all the words of oil or olive or fluid. Roots meaning some kind of a liquid or an oil. So we translated the practice of Vajrali as the diamond fluid. Frankly, Master Svatmarama, who wrote the book, he says something unprecedented. He says something no yoga teacher should ever say. And it's confusing. I mean, if you really know the Asian traditions, he says something very unacceptable. He says, I don't care if it's Rangawa. Say Rangawa. Rangawa is the Tibetan translation. It means, I don't care if you're just experimenting with this practice on your own without asking a teacher, without getting any proper training. You just picked up the book at East West Books and opened up to the Rajoyi chapter. and so I thought, I'll try that tonight. I don't care if you're that kind of person. And I don't care if you're keeping your yamas and your niyamas. I don't care if you're an ethical person. I don't care if you're a moral person or not. Learn this practice and you're a high yogi. Learn this practice and you're a high yogi. That's like totally off the wall. Impossible. We call Maingak. Say Maingak. Maingak in the monastery, it means to emphasize the importance of something by saying, I don't care if you don't do that. You see what I mean? What he's really saying is what? Yeah, you don't do these two things. don't come near this practice that's what he's saying but he's also saying it's a very powerful practice and what he's saying is you can't get good at it if you don't have those two qualities you will never master the practice of the diamond fluid of the sexual fluids you will never master it if you don't have those two qualities one you must learn it from a qualified teacher. You must know what you're doing. And you should never just think you could just go off and do it on your own. You'll just have trouble, trust me. They say in the monastery, your mind will blow up. Your skull will split open. They say, try to do these things on your own and you'll just have many years of pain, many years of confusion. like that. Or nothing will happen, which is worse. What's worse is if nothing happens. Then you must have yamas and niyamas. You must have a, you must be leading an ethical way of life, a strictly ethical way of life. In the Tibetan scriptures, they say a yogi who embarks or a yogini who embarks on these practices must be even more ethical than anyone. You see? They are built on an ethical foundation. A person is engaging in a breast cancer operation without training, without ever having been taught anything. I mean, they'll kill somebody. Or from a person who's doing it for sex. Would you want the doctor to be thinking about sex when they're cutting off your breath, it'd be like that. He's naming the two most inappropriate conditions you could have for doing these practices. One, that you're interested in some lower thing, you don't have a moral sense, and then two, you're doing it, you don't go to medical school and you try to cut off a person's breath, with no training, without any knowledge. So he's just warning us at the beginning, you know, you have to have these qualifications, you must have these qualifications. It's not appropriate. You know, there's a long list of terrible things that will happen to you karmically if you try to, if you do these things with a low motivation. And then there's a, but sometimes Lama Christi and I, sometimes we sit and talk about it, we think it would be more disturbing if nothing happened. You know? You just tried it for a year or you tried it for two years and then nothing happened. And then you went on to something else. Because these are high practices. You can get liberated. They are the fastest way to get liberated that there is. So I think the biggest loss would be if you tried them, not knowing what you're doing, not having a strong ethical foundation, and then nothing happened. And you went on with your life and you died. You got old and died. And that would be more of a, how do you call it, crime than doing something immoral. Just to get old and die is more of a crime for a yogi than doing their practices for the wrong reason. Well, that was light-hearted in my mind. Okay, we're going to read the next verse. Verse 84. The following are two basic necessities for this practice, and they are difficult for anyone to obtain. The first is the milk, and the second is a woman who will follow your wishes. I really like this verse. It's quite funny to me. So we'll talk about what Master Swatma Rama is actually saying in these verses. From what we talked about last night, what do you think the milk means here? Right, right. So we're not talking about anything that you don't know. We're talking about, for those of you who weren't here, the white element that resides at the tip of the head. It's an essential drop of nectar that is passed to you from your father at the time that you were conceived in the womb. And it serves to help develop the entire body, starting with the channels and moving on to the more gross outer forms like your bones. Versus the red element, which I think I forgot to mention, is responsible for blood and skin and stuff like that, right? this particular white element is something that is only found... The white and red elements are something that is only found in certain beings. There are different realms of beings. And, you know, it's always funny to talk about this because you can't really verify it so much. And it's like... There are You could say five or six rounds Depending on how you want to divide it But basically There's the human realm Which we know about Then there's the animal realm Which we also know about Then there's the realm of spirits Which I guess some people know about Like Ghosts or whatever you'd want to say We are living around a lot of them right now, this very second they're in this room. But you can't see them normally, and you can't hear them or feel them normally. Sometimes when someone that you love has died and you're very close to them, you have feelings of that particular spirit coming to you. And that's the validation that some people have for knowing that this realm even exists. Then there are two other realms which we can't see right now. The hell realms and the god realms, right? Worldly gods, temporary pleasure beings, right? Now, of all these realms of beings, it is only the human realm that can get, reach enlightenment in their lifetime. which is why in the Tibetan scriptures it says it's not such a good idea to go to the God realms. Even though it's fun there, you can't get anywhere with it. Like, you go there and you burn up all this good karma, and then the karma's finished and then you're sent down to a lower place and you've pretty much just wasted all your time there because you can't further your spiritual path. Why? Well, the beings in the God realms are either unable to experience bliss, the bliss of joining together the two sexual organs, that kind of bliss. They're either unable to experience it, or they experience a weak form of it, but because they lack the red and white elements, they're unable to do anything with it. So this starts to tell us how essential these two elements are inside of our own body. They are the ticket to our enlightenment. They are what is going to transform our bodies from that of flesh and bone to that of an angel's body of light. These are the resources that we need to use in order to enact the transformation. And bliss is a part of that. The bliss that comes from the falling of the white element, from down from the tip of the head through the central channel all the way down to the base of the spine, that is an essential part of using that, that is an essential part of getting to enlightenment itself. And that's pretty wild, you know? That's pretty wild. So we know that the gods can't get enlightened in their lifetime. What about spirit beings or animals? They do have red and white elements. Animals do have red and white elements in their body. They do have channels. But they were born with a lot less karmic intelligence than we were. They were born without this ability to understand even being on a spiritual path. So they would never jump to this radical conclusion that that particular bliss of joining together with your partner could be used for a spiritual path. It's just totally beyond them. Like, they have, their karma is not good enough to be able to see that as a path. You know? So, they are pretty much ruled out from reaching enlightenment in this life. And I know some of you probably have very, very dear pets, and you think of them like humans, and it's hard for you to hear this. We could say primarily. There are probably some exceptions. But to be quite honest, one of the conditions for reaching enlightenment in a single lifetime is that you have a very similar form to what you are going to look like in the end. When you become an enlightened being, when you become a Buddha, you look like this. You look like your outline form is roughly the same shape. It's like a person shape. It's not like a dog shape, you know? Enlightened beings don't, like, turn into enlightened beings as a dog shape. They turn into enlightened beings as this shape. So, you start to realize the incredible good karma of your last birth. Like, oh my god, I was born not as a god, not as a spirit being, not as an animal, not as a hellroids. Forget the hellroids, my god, they're in so much pain they can't even think straight. Like, that's just not an option. But I was born as a human, you know? I was born as a human, and I have these elements inside of me. I look like the Buddha already in my outer shape, and I'm so close. You know? I'm so, so close. Then they say that there are other places that humans can be born, like other continents that humans can be born. But these places, they have a very long fixed lifespan. Like, everybody lives for 5,000 years or something like that. You know? And they all have perfect health, and they all have perfect amount of money, and they have no problems. What's the problem with that? Yeah, they won't have any reason to get on a spiritual path until it's way too late. Like, they're just fine. Everybody's happy. And they're not thinking about spirituality at all. And they don't have any renunciation. They don't have any reason to reject this life because it's going so well. And then they don't develop any compassion in their hearts for the trials and tribulations of others. Because nobody has any trials and tribulations. They're all the same. So, not only were you born in the only realm you could get enlightened. But you were born on the only continent in the only realm that you can get enlightened. You were not born on another place in another time where things were better. Because that will not get you where you want to go. So the reason why everybody's in this room instead of out having a good time on Friday night. Right? Like you could be in a bar right now. You could be like, I don't know, doing lots of other things, I'm sure. You could be at a Broadway show. You could be, I don't know. I heard Ani DeFranco was playing. You could be there instead of here. But you're not. You're in this room. And there's a reason for that. It's because you yourself have experienced the pain of this life. And you've watched people that you love experience the pain of this life. And you know it sucks. You know? And you want to get out. Like, you want to change something about your existence. And you believe that you can. You know? So, that's so rare. That's so, so rare. And it's such a precious, precious time and precious opportunity to live in this place with this perfect body that will get you to enlightenment. You know, it has the perfect elements inside of you. Just waiting for you to pick them up and use them, right? To transform yourself into your ultimate evolution. It's like, now's the time. Basically, it's like telling you, now's the time. Now's the time to practice. You have been given the perfect conditions. Absolutely perfect conditions. You are so spiritually intelligent, I can't even tell you. You've waited so many lifetimes for this moment. And it's nice that Master Swatmarama reminds us how rare it is. That this particular element inside of us that's going to produce the bliss, that's going to help us see emptiness, that's going to push the winds into the central channel, that's going to get us enlightened in this lifetime. You've got that. You've got that. Right? Okay, now for the really controversial one. The second is a woman who will follow your wishes. we had we had a lot of jokes about this verse as we were preparing this talk basically what he's saying is it's very rare to find a perfect spiritual partner it's very rare to find someone who wants to journey on this path with you you know you have met the teachings you have started to understand like i want to get enlightened in this life and i need to do it with somebody else you know uh who who is that enlightened angel we talked about before who is going to guide me to heaven right but then how to find that person it's so karmically expensive. Really, it's so expensive. Most people enter into partnerships for some other reason, like I want to be comfortable. I want someone to go to the movies with. I want financial stability. I want emotional stability. I want, you know, there's all these other lower reasons for being in a partnership. Like, I want you to give me attention when I want it. I want, you know, how are we going to find the person who wants to get you enlightened or wants to go to enlightenment with you? And he's just saying, it's really rare. It's really rare to find someone like that. So, but do we find them? We talked about it before, you know, the beginning of class. We don't find them, we create them. We create them. And when you know how to create them, it's not a problem, right? You don't have to go looking at every single Starbucks in New York City for this person, right? Because they will come to you. You will draw them to you with the power of your pure intention, the power of your practice. And even if you have an existing partner that you think does not want to follow this path, they will change. There are many, many, many circumstances. Like, you know, we've taught at Diamond Mountain for many years now, and there are definitely some people who come to Diamond mountain regularly whose spouses are not in the courses, you know? And, uh, I've watched them develop over the years, uh, with their partners. And it's so remarkable the change that goes, like if people really work hard, um, they don't need to come to the classes, you know, the partner doesn't need to come to the classes, but this, um, this shift happens in their mind and they start becoming this really spiritual holy being for their partner. You know, because the partner is practicing so much, and so regularly, and with such a great understanding of emptiness. And it's just beautiful to watch. It's been beautiful to watch. And I know some of the people at Diamond Mountain, they know some of the people I'm talking about. So don't ever think that you're stuck, you know, in a relationship with somebody who doesn't believe in your path, because that can definitely change, right? And all you have to do is see them as your teacher and then they start to become that in a very, very powerful way. Okay. Okay. Really? yeah so sexy though yeah okay the next two verses which I'm not going to read you have to deal with that how to do Vajrali what's the method for diamond sword how do you how do you practice this practice and the basic practice is to use your sexual organ within the sexual organ of your partner to to suck up, to contract the muscles, and to suck up what they call essential drops from your partner. Those drops can, you know, normally you would think of them as the seminal fluid or the ovarian fluid. But we're talking about a deeper energy, a deeper power in the partner's body. And we'll talk about that. There's a, what do you call it? There's a tradition in India by yogis who follow this practice, yogis and yoginis, to practice by themselves before trying it with a partner, or between sessions with a partner. and the tradition for a male or a female, and he will get into, the cool thing about Swatmarama, and one of the first verses to be cut out was how women do this practice. So he actually covers that, and it's very nice. So we have many editions, 17 different editions of the text. We restored the proper verses. But traditionally you've got a small bamboo tooth, maybe this long, and then the man would insert it in his penis, and then he would practice trying to contract the muscles, doing like a mula bandha, different bandhas, and then try to suck water up out of a cup with the control of the muscles, learning to control the muscles. And so we knew people in India who tried this. Without a teacher, yeah, Rangawa, right? and they were doing it with the Indian pond water and so of course they got very very serious urinary infections and very very serious intestinal infections but it's a bad idea to do it the traditional way and without a teacher it's foolish it's foolish to do it without a teacher you'll hurt yourself those people have been sick for years so nowadays if you wanted to try it don't try it find a teacher find a good teacher but normally nowadays a catheter a piece of a catheter would be good use a lot of tiny one and also distilled water is very important. So you should never try to introduce... There are many yogic practices where you introduce water either through your anus or through your sexual organ and you don't want to introduce anything but distilled water. Distilled, not even just good water. Because you will get problems. These are just practical instructions. What's going on and why are you doing this practice? What's the goal of trying to suck some kind of energy, some liquids? What energy are you trying to withdraw from your partner's body? What's been the theme of the mudras that we've covered this week? Yeah, you're trying to reverse the flow of the down-clearing wind, okay? The apana vaiv. You're trying to turn it back. So there's a wind. Those of you who haven't been here this week, there's an inner prana which is responsible for elimination of feces, urine, semen, menses from the body. Retention and the elimination of it. And that wind is flowing downwards, right? Because it can't flow upwards because there's a triple knot at the heart. It should flow upwards. If it did, there wouldn't be so many problems. It's only flowing downwards. So a yogi, either by pressing the heel into the perineum, or sitting with their anus on a wrist bone, sorry, ankle bone, or doing a viparita karani, an inversion, right? Or doing, and then locking the top wind down with a jalandara bandha, right? So the goal of the whole, the goal of this practice, and it's logical, right? It flows from the mudras we've been having. It's the same goal as doing an inversion or pressing the heel into the perineum. It's to try to seal or block the downward clearing wind and try to get it reversed. Try to send it back up towards the heart chakra. And in the Tibetan scriptures, it's very beautiful. They're very clear about it. The woman is using her apana. She activates her apana to push the man's apana back. So she's like releasing her upon her, purposely. And then they say if you take a straw and you took incense smoke in your mouth and you pushed it into the straw, then you would see incense smoke coming out and it would push the air that was coming this way, right? You would see the incense smoke pushing. They say try it sometimes, you know, to visualize what's happening. Ideally, the woman is pushing down her upon her. and then she's pushing back the manza and that's how the Tibetan scriptures describe it so the goal is that you're trying to push your partner's downward clearing wind back up into their body and we should talk about what happens then the people who have been here this week they heard it there's a wind in the upper part of the body pranavayu down because of the same knot. There's a wind in the lower part of the body that's trying to get up. You can purposely reverse, like standing on your hand, it will reverse the value that's going down, and it will also reverse the lock on your chin when you do a shoulder stand, for example, will force that value towards the heart. As the two winds approach the heart, the two winds approaching the heart only happens in a normal person under two circumstances. What are they? One is orgasm. For a few seconds, the two winds are opening, the heart chakra is opening slightly, and there's a pushing of the two winds against each other. And then that takes you into some sort of almost ecstatic state. When you die, the same capsule breaks open and the winds can flow towards each other. When you die, then that, when you're in a state of extreme sexual orgasm, your mind actually goes almost unconscious. You are close to what we call the natural clear light. And when you die, your mind is also sent into the natural clear light. So at a stage in the unconsciousness as you die, at a stage in the unconsciousness of a really heightened sexual experience, your mind approaches what it's capable of. Your mind approaches its natural state, which would be some kind of like extreme ecstasy. It's the natural state of the mind. The mind should have been there, but for the knots in the heart. And when you're in this ecstasy, or when you're in this state, then the mind, the heart opens to ultimate love also. Total compassion for all beings at that moment. It's only at those moments that you are capable of true love for every living being, as if they were yourself. It's only in that state of high ecstasy of the opening of the heart and the pressing of the two winds towards each other. If you continue that process, you go into a state of clairvoyance, And you can see other planets. You can see people on other planets going about their day, you know? And you can see billions of them in a single moment. Billions in a single moment. Your mind has the capacity. But for the knots around your heart, you would be in a state of ecstasy and you would be serving directly billions of people at the same moment. You see? So this practice is very, very, how do you say it? it's like it's like making Jesus out of somebody you see what I mean you're engaging in this practice to be able to come to countless planets to help the people there at the same time in the same moment if you did it properly if you were trained properly and it had the proper effect you would become the Jesus or the Buddha or the Dalai Lama on countless planets in a single moment. So the stakes are high. The stakes of these practices are very high. The goal is don't shortchange yourself with the goal. God, man, what if I could be the Dalai Lama on just 50 planets at the same time. Me. And you will be. And you can be. And this is the method. It's extraordinary. It's amazing. So keep up that motivation as you go through. You will do that. That is your natural condition. It's not like you're trying to learn something. Your natural condition is that. You are a Buddha. You are a Dalai Nama. For countless planets, it is your natural condition. You are blocked from it now. You are obstructed by the channels at the heart. So these practices are very holy. We are trying to recover our real condition. And that condition is immortal. You continue serving people forever. And you teach them that, you know, you're going to give a Vajrayoli lecture somewhere on Saturn, I guess, you know, in a couple of years or something. No, really, it's like that. It's like that. I'm not kidding. I'm not exaggerating. it's like that if you do your yoga well you will see it's like that it's good it's Friday night they don't have to do anything tomorrow Those very nice ladies at the front desk would probably not appreciate that much. All right. All right. So, these are just some practical, the last two questions that we have to cover before the break are just some really practical things. I've had people in the past, you know, come up and ask me all sorts of funny, interesting questions about spiritual partner practices. Like, if I really see them as an angel, do I still have to use birth control? I know. Seriously. And, like, we thought it might be important to talk about this because, like, no, it's very, you know, you are projecting this being, right? And sometimes you see them as a holy angel and sometimes they toggle and you see them as a normal person, right? That's the level that maybe we're on right now because we're not perfected beings ourselves. And so our view is not perfect of our holy partner. Once our channels, as our channels and winds and drops start to get more and more pure, we start to see our partner as more and more of an angel and less and less of it as a human. But as long as you've got some seeds to see them in a normal way, You can have the same seeds to have normal things like pregnancy happen to you, okay? Like, you know, just know that. Like, just, I understood the question, and it actually was a really powerfully good question from somebody who understood projections in a very deep way. It's very true that if you saw them completely as an angel, it probably would be impossible to get pregnant, right? unless you saw that as also a divine thing, you know, unless you were going for the pregnancy, in which case you would see it as like this divine baby, you know. And that's what you should do, I guess. That's another topic. If you choose to have children, or if somehow children happen to you, In either case, children are a very, very powerful part of your spiritual practice and your spiritual partnership. As a couple, you do the same thing with your child or your children as you do with your partner. From the very moment that they are conceived in the womb, you take every single hint or sign that they ever give you as a sign of an enlightened holy being. You know, they are what we call a tuku. They are a reincarnated lama in your womb. You know, and that's like, hold the line with that. You know, like you only think of them in a pure enlightened way. And you treat them like they are reincarnated mama. When they come out, you're like, hello, teach me, please teach me, please guide me on the path. And you know what happens? Because they're empty, it's the same thing with your partner. They do start to teach you. They do start to guide you on the path. And, you know, children can be the most remarkable, beautiful teachers anyway. Just, like, so precious. You know, like, slow down, look at the butterflies. You know, like, you know, I've had so many divine teachings from children, I can't even tell you. Just like, they're all my holy mamas. And there's something about a child that's totally different than a partner in that you are there only to serve them. Like, you're not expecting them to fulfill your emotional needs, or you're not expecting to have an equal relationship with them. There's no issue with, well, why don't you give back to me what I gave to you, you know? Like, there's all these things in partnerships that block us from truly engaging in our partner in an enlightened way, which is all these kind of cultural mores of having to meet each other's needs emotionally and physically. And we don't have that issue with children at all. From the moment they come out, you know your only job is to serve them. So it's like a pure relationship. So oftentimes people feel like their practice with their children is even much more powerful than their practice with their partner. Just because of the nature of their relationship. So it can be a very powerful path. It can be a very powerful path. But for those of you who are not that interested in that path at this moment, who, I don't know, they want to go on a three-year retreat or something, you need to take the proper precautions, right? As yogis, you need to take the proper precautions. You know, I think Eshimaka wanted me to talk about this because he always gets stuck talking about this and he feels a little silly talking about it because he's not a woman. But the different methods that you can use of birth control are kind of an issue. for a spiritual practitioner because, and I was, you know, I've talked to many, many women about this and a few men, a few like enlightened men who actually cared enough to ask. But, you know, the pill is kind of a difficult option because it affects your hormonal balance. And I'm not sure how good it is to be on a drug for a long period of time that is affecting that part of your body hormonally because it will affect your inner channels, and especially the red element. The red and white elements get affected because you're doing something with the gross manifestations of those red and white elements. Right? Like, semen is the gross manifestation of the white element. It's like the white element is very ephemeral, and it's like light, and then there's a grosser manifestation of it in the physical body, and that's this semen. And then menstrual blood, or blood in general, is the gross manifestation of the red element. And whenever you screw around with those, you're screwing around with the essential elements inside your body. And to tell you the truth, the medical profession right now doesn't know exactly what they're doing. you know they don't know about channels and chakras and winds and drops and they don't know what it's doing to your inner body and so you're taking a risk when you put yourself on a drug and you don't quite know what it's doing to your inner body because as we said before this is like the precious chance that you have you know you've been given these substances and it's what's going to take you to enlightenment and then if you fool around with it you know it could be it could be damaging but But on the other hand, a child who you have to take care of and you can't do your spiritual practice could also be damaging to your practice. So you have to balance it, right? Then there are other methods like IUD. And to tell you the truth, I was asking someone in the medical profession recently. And they were like, we're not quite sure how it works. And I'm like, you expect a woman to come in here and let you put that thing in them, and you're not quite sure how it works. I was a little offended, you know. But anyway, the issue with the IUD, and I'll level with you very, very frankly, is if you fertilize an egg and then you kill it, it's murder. Because conception begins at the time when the sperm meets the egg. Right? And there's life there. And you're killing a human being. And now that you know how precious it is to be born a human being on this realm, in this continent, you know what you're killing. You know? Like someone had the chance to have a body and a mind that could get enlightened in this life and you killed them. You know? And it's like a very serious karma. So we have to be very careful because if it is the case that the IUD actually gets the egg out of the body before the sperm ever meets the egg, then that's cool, right? And that's fine. But if it's the case that the egg is already fertilized before it gets out of the body, that's a problem. That's a problem because then you're doing, you never know if you just committed murder or not, you know? And there's something in the back of your mind. There's some sort of really negative karma going on in the back of your mind if you know that. And I hate to lay this trip on you because it's going to make it more difficult, right? But I think it's very important that you know if you're on a spiritual path, you're on an ethical path. A very strict ethical path. Because as we said before, as Genshin Michael said, you can't do these practices without being completely strictly moral and expect them to work. They just, you know, it just won't work. It'll be a total block in your practice and you won't get any further, you know. So we as spiritual practitioners have to know these things, you know. Am I at the risk of killing a life or not? Then there are other methods, I'm sure that you guys know, that are maybe not so effective, you know, percentage-wise. These two methods, I think, are the most effective. They're like 99% effective or something, 99 point blah, blah, blah. And then other methods, they're not so effective, and then you run the risk of having a child, in which case you'll have to take the path of a spiritual practitioner who has a child. And if you want to, you have to know that. If you're engaging in a spiritual partnership with a union practice with your partner, then you have to be willing to take that on. And you should just take that responsibility on yourself as soon as you start your practice, knowing that that could happen. And knowing that you would be willing to have that happen. do you be willing to have divine intervention come and guide you to a totally different path at the spur of the moment you know you get one phone call and you're like oh my life has changed you know and that's it's beautiful and great and cool and and and you you know but be ready for it you know if it happens then um there are uh other options which is not to completely engage in sexual intercourse when you're practicing with your partner. That's an option. Just go up to a certain point and then that's it. And that's definitely a 100% method, unless you get really divine intervention, which you never know. It can happen. But just not engaging in sex at all. with your partner. Or complete abstinence, right? That's another option. It's probably not the option that you're all hoping for. But, you know, periodic bouts of celibacy within a spiritual partnership are actually a very beautiful thing. You know? In fact, I find that if you engage in periodic times with your partner where you decide together, both of you happily, that's very important. You can't force it on your partner. I decided to be celibate. That gets into some issues and lots of talking late nights. But if you decide as a couple that that's good for you, or that you'd like to try it, like, oh, let's be celibate for a month, or let's be celibate for one and a half months or three months, or something like, it's really sweet, because you allow your partnership to develop in a different way. Like, you've got this communication, and a lot of it is a physical communication with you and your partner, but then you switch it to a different level of communication. And sometimes it brings you even closer as a couple because you find a nonverbal, nonphysical communication between you two that's so sweet, you know, and so pure. And it's nice, and it's refreshing, you know. And then when you start your physical intimacy again, After that period of time, it's like, wow. It's really, it's like, let me describe it to you. When I was in retreat, like three-year retreat, I hadn't heard music in a really, really long time. Right? Like, we just didn't hear any music at all. Like, we were abstaining from a lot of the things that usually affect your physical senses. Like, I didn't watch any movies. I didn't listen to any music. I didn't have McDonald's French fries. I'm doing like five cents. But then the first time I heard a piece of music, after a long period of time without it, it was total ecstasy. It was like it was coursing through my entire body. And I couldn't do anything but lay on the bed and close my eyes and just let it wash over me because it was engaging me so much that it was like, ah. And I think that's kind of how it is when you abstain from things. When you abstain from constant sensual overload, and you let your mind and your body rest for a while, then when you engage in it again, it's like you're finding it again for the first time. So that's an option I'd like to throw out to you, because I think it's a powerful practice for couples. It's a sweet practice for couples. But I don't know the answer about the birth control thing. There's a new birth control method being developed that hasn't been certified yet in this country, where it's like they put a little piece of something in the mail so that the sperm actually doesn't go out. And it's like a temporary blockage. And then it dissolves within a couple years. Like, but it's removable, you know. And so they're working on that. And hopefully, if we purify, you know, if we collect the red karma, the perfect form of birth control will start to come. You know, it will arise in the world. And we won't have a problem with this anymore. when you become a really advanced yogi or yogini you can control the release of the eggs in your body like you can actually tell them the ovaries when to release the eggs or not and then you don't have a problem but until you reach that level there are certain issues that are still I don't know, in my mind, kind of unresolved so use your best judgment yogis and yoginis when you're dealing with this practice safely don't risk your life if you're not in a very stable long term relationship with somebody and you're not sure 100% that you're not your partner, where your partner has been in the last, you know, couple years, then 10 years or something, um, you should be responsible. You should go get AIDS tests. You should, you know, it's, uh, you know, don't, don't be reckless with your body and your mind because it's so precious, It's so, so very precious. And you need it to get to enlightenment. And so cherish it. And this is all a part of taking this as a spiritual path. You honor your precious body and your mind. You honor the practice by being responsible. One more. No? One more. it goes with the other one ok we'll just do a short one so Lama Christi did more of the physical aspect I'd like to do the social aspect of the practice I asked my mamas if this is the fastest way to get to enlightenment then how come why is it not more open why is it secret and why... And they said... They sat me down, and it was a very interesting talk. And they said, look, the sexual urges in people are the strongest urges there are in human beings. You know, the sexual urge is the strongest power, emotional power within a human being. You know, so... and there's a craving for that state when the heart chakra opens. So you can think of your sexual drive, your libido, right? You can think of it as a very holy thing also. You have a craving that you don't quite understand for the heart chakra to open. And the only normal time you can get it is in the depths of the sexual experience. Or die, right? Which you can only do once each life. So, no, you have a... You have a urge for immortality, which is related to your sexual urge. You see? You have an urge to be more than a human. You have an urge to be a body, a being of light. And it's connected to your sexual urge, because that's the closest you can get without training. so my lamas were telling me look so the urge for sex is even connected to the urge not to die so it's very strong in people it's really really strong in people and then you know a person who has that urge will do anything and they won't think of the consequences socially they won't think of how much it could hurt someone or, you know, a person really under the drive of their sexual urges will commit actions within a few minutes which hurt other people for decades. You see? And just unthinking, you know? And we both came from broken families. We know this story, you know? Neither of us had a father most of our childhood. And you have to consider, as a yogi, your practice with your partner can never succeed unless it's based in really traditional morality and traditional ethics. And there's a reason why Moses said, thou shalt not commit adultery. And there's a reason why Jesus said it again, and there's a reason why Lord Buddha taught that, and Muhammad, you know, because these great beings, Mahatmas, who have come to our world, right, they're trying to keep us out of trouble, they're trying to keep us happy, and they're saying, you will get urges to break your commitments to your partner, or to break your commitments that you've made to people, lifetime commitments, you will get urges, and then you have to refuse them, you know, Or the world is chaos, you see. You can't appreciate what America is in the history of the world, right? You can't appreciate what Moses is... When the Jews, you know, we went to Shavuot. We were at Shavuot. We were at the Wailing Wall in Shavuot, yeah? There are 10,000 people celebrating what? The bringing of the tablets to the temple, you know? And it should be celebrated, you know? If it weren't for that ethical code in the Western countries, right? Which then developed through Christianity, right? If it weren't for Moses' code, we would be living in chaos. We would be killing each other easily. There was a Mongol custom in Genghis Khan's time. Invite your neighbor to dinner and poison him. Genghis Khan's father died this way. Just poison your neighbor. and take their money. Take their wife and take their kids. His father was killed this way. It was just common. Invite someone to dinner and poison them. It makes sense. I mean, their house is right there. Their wife looks good. They have money in the house. So, no, you laugh because you are of Moses' lineage. You laugh because it sounds crazy to you. But there are planets, and there are nations, and there are times in history when they had no compunction about anything. No one taught them it was wrong to poison your neighbor for dinner. You know? No, you laugh, but there have been countries, and there have been times, on this planet, and there are other planets where there are no ethical codes. And people just kill each other, steal each other's things, and hurt each other's couples. They hurt each other's partners. relationships, right? Just, and we are close to that in America in some ways, you know, this kind of disregard for the vow that you took, right, after two years. We talked to a guy today, he said, I've been depressed, you know, I said, why? You know, and he said, well, I got married this summer, what's wrong with that? I said, well, she left me after five days. Five days. Five days. I mean, they did this whole big marriage, and then after five days, she just left him, you know? So we don't think, nobody's gasping. Like when you gasp about, nobody's gasping. You gasped about the story of Genghis Khan's father, you didn't gasp about the five-day marriage, right? It's the same. It's the same thing. The world would be chaos if yogis didn't Expect those vows. You know, you have commitments, you have vows, and they are holy. And you make a commitment to a partner, or you know someone else has a commitment to a partner. Don't even think about these practices unless it's a proper thing. That everything is clean. Everything has to be clean. Everything has to be pure. There can't be any monkey business involved because you will fail. It cannot work. because everything's karma. Everything's driven by karma. If your attempts to practice Vajroli hurt another couple's relationship or other people's relationships, by definition you will fail. By definition they cannot work. You see? A real yogi is like, you know, honoring all of their vows, honoring all of their commitments. They are Yama Ni Yama. Their middle name is Yama Ni Yama. You know? How are you, Joe, Yamani, Yamasmi? No, that's a real Yogi. And they are honoring other people's commitments, and they are honoring their own commitments, and then you can enjoy these practices. Then you can do them properly. But there's a reason why every religion talks about that. And it's to keep the world from chaos, and to keep us out of bad karma. These holy beings are making rules that we have no appreciation for, we don't understand, we don't appreciate why there's a rule about adultery. We don't really understand it. The reason is, if you commit it, you probably won't ever have a spiritual partner in your life. Period. You won't have the karma. You won't be able. It won't come to you. You see? Then you can't get enlightened this way. You see? So, as yogis and yoginis, you have to in your own interest, what the Dalai Lama calls it? Enlightened self-interest. In your own interest, respect your commitments, respect your vows. If you go off as somebody for a spiritual partnership that involves breaking your previous vows, what? I mean, come on, you're going to break them again in two years or three years. Come on, don't be naive. If you try to talk somebody out of their commitments so you can have a relationship with them, how long do you think it's going to last? You just train a person not to have a commitment, not to honor a commitment. You think they're going to honor you in a year or six months? You know, it's not the... It's naive. It's foolish. So we should be pure. We should keep our commitments. And then, oh God, then the practice. You know, practice that with a partner. You become like one being. You know, you become what they describe in the Bible. You know, one flesh. You become like one person. And then the practice is unbelievable. Then they can take you to heaven. So keep your other commitments. A yogi has to keep all their commitments. And then, oh man, then it's, wow. It's so cool. That's the way we should do bhajali. Yeah? I have something. A little bit. Maybe you want? Yeah. Well, I'm supposed to do this. So, I was talking yesterday about the karma of getting good teachings, which was, yeah. Which was? Yes, teaching others or helping other people teach, you know. And I brought you an example and then I forgot to show it to you. So I'm going to show you this example. I recently was asked by Double Day to write a book on meditation. So I wrote this book on meditation, and then a certain beautiful someone named James Connor helped me edit it. And he spent hours and hours and hours and hours of his time working on my book over and over again as I did chapter after chapter. and the main problem being that I like to start sentences with and, and he doesn't like that. But then, you know, James wrote a book of his own, and due to his, I think, due to the powerful karma of him helping me with my book, Like, as soon as it got out, it was reviewed in Business Week this week, right? In two weeks, it's going to be reviewed by Business Week magazine, which is like the huge business magazine of the world, you know? He wrote this book called Perfection of Marketing, and it's going to be a wild success, much wilder than my own book. Because why? No, and that's beautiful because he helped his llama with their book, right? And that's what we have to do. We have to like jump off each other and rise to even greater levels, you know, and like awesome that James's book is in business week, you know, and who's going to help James with his book and like, you know, and that's the way we're going to reach people in the world, you know, and I just wanted to kind of celebrate that very, very smart use of karma and show you how beautifully it's all going on. to create a paradise in our world. So, yay! If anyone wants to see the book, I'll leave it up here for people to check out during the break. Okay? That's kind of complicated marketing strategies. Because I don't understand, but maybe you understand it more and better than I do. All right. I have one more thing. Next Saturday, you know, we're having a reception, a big party here. I think it's going to be a problem. We actually have more people already on the list than everything fit here, I think. RSVP. But there'll be a big party here. So first of all, we'd like to invite you. If you're here for tonight for the first time, it'll be a really, really nice party. We're releasing an important art book about the teacher of the first dialogue. And that's what all those posters are about out there. But we have a more practical request. We need people who would like to help be waiters or waitresses or help unpack the truck. Do they have to dress in all black? I don't know. You have to ask the bosses of the program. Actually, all the waiters and waitresses and truck unloaders are getting it for free. As opposed to... Never mind. But, you know, by the way, the whole thing's good. Do they have to dress it all like that? They're going to tell them. They're going to tell them. Okay. So anyway, I think it'd be really fun. It'd be fun. We're going to have really exotic, non-alcoholic cocktails, but don't tell anybody you're non-alcoholic, because on a good station, we said drinks. But it's going to be really, really, really she-she, cool, organic, vegan, you know, snacks and drinks and stuff like that. So we just need people to like circulate around and hand it to people or people to help unload the truck of books. The books are really, you know, heavy. And then maybe, I hate to say clean up, but even some fools who would like to help clean up. So I'm asking for a show of hands if you have any interest in helping at home. So stand up. Those people stand up. You go to the back of this room now. Okay? We're not taking any chances. We're in the back room now. Sean and Christine are your new bosses. Just go there now. Really. Seriously. Okay. Everyone else gets to have a break. Okay, so have a nice break. If you haven't met us or you haven't said hi, or you'd like to come up and say hi or ask a question about... Badroli. To Lama Crispy. So we'll be here. We'll be happy to meet you. Have a nice break. Happy Badroli any day. Thank you. so let's read some holy verses about the Yerba Kodipika in honor of her holy angel-ness I'm just going to read English because it is midnight the semen milk of men is something that stays depending on the state of mind life itself is something that stays depending on the milk of semen as such one must make efforts to retain this meal in the mind as well. So this is talking about retention of the semen during practice with your partner. And the idea is that, as it says in the verse, life rests on the retention of your bodily fluids. It's like semen, or for a woman, it's your red element, right? So, in the normal course of, like, sex, sexual intercourse, when you release, when you have an orgasm, for instance, as we talked about last night, God, everybody just suddenly pays such attention, I say these magic words. and uh yes so interesting it's so it's so amazing like i say the word like pronunciation writing notes not looking up and then i say the word orgasm and you're like what you see this is the state of of our realm you know it's it's like this is um this is like what it means to be a human being in the desire realm. That's what it is. It's like, you know, you start talking about it, people get to the edge of their seats because it's a burning drive in all of us, right? There's like this burning drive in all of us. But it's not really about sex. It's like we've got this burning drive in us to reach that state that we touch for a few seconds when we have an orgasm. Like we touch it just for a few seconds. We touch this magic realm where all the winds go into our central channel. And like for a brief second, we see the world as it really is. But we can't hold on to it. So it's like we constantly want to be back there. We're constantly driven to go back there. And it's a holy thing. And it's a precious thing. And that drive is like your life force, you know, and it's, um, and you should know what it is and, uh, direct it. That powerful drive, which is your life energy, direct it towards your spiritual practice, you know, channel it towards a spiritual goal. And then your practice will take fire, you know, and turn everything that you do into your spiritual practice. Like even turn your own physical relationship with your partner into your spiritual practice. Like everything. You know, turn your dreams into your spiritual practice. Turn everything into your spiritual practice. And then you will reach enlightenment in this life. That's the only way you can do it. Is when everything becomes to you a spiritual path. When everything you do 24-7 becomes part of your spiritual path, including a practice with a partner. So what this verse is saying is in the normal course of a sexual interaction, as we talked about last night, when you have an orgasm, this is a really good, expensive karma. Because winds are drawing into the central channel. You're like touching, like a taste of emptiness for just a few seconds. And it's like so, so precious, you know, and so amazing and so close to the ultimate goal of, you know, seeing emptiness directly that it's expensive. It's really expensive. And it's like if you don't use it specifically for a spiritual practice, then it's just you're burning off so much good karma with that. And you're burning off your life energy, your life force, and you're getting older. so if you're not using it specifically for a spiritual path it's like every single time you have an orgasm you're getting closer to your death you know and uh so as a spiritual practitioner you would either want to retain the element or you would want to learn how to channel that experience into a very, very powerful spiritual practice on emptiness. One or the other. Because if not, it's just kind of a waste. You know? And for spiritual practitioners, we don't go for that. We're wasting of energy. You know? So, but when I say that, I have to have a little caveat here because there's, I don't know, There are certain people that shouldn't practice this. There are certain people that would just drive them crazy and nuts. And they start to get a condition called lung, which is like an inner wind disorder. Because they so much want to release, but they don't. And then it's like this pressure, and it's like this struggle. And that kind of person, you have to be really ready for these practices. Like you have to already almost be at the point where you don't really want to release anyway or something like that. Or at a state of mind where it's almost automatically happening to you. And that's what he's talking about here. He's like, the semen milk of men, it's something that rests on your state of mind. Which means your motivation and where you are in your spiritual level and where you are on the path. You know, it rests on your concentration and it rests on your motivation. So you have to be at a certain level meditatively. And you have to have this really, really strong intention to devote your entire life to your practice, right? Before, you can do something like fooling around with retaining the bodily fluids. You know, and for a male, that's retention of the semen at the moment of orgasm. But for a female, it's a little bit different. It's a little interesting. You know, the female is primarily red element based, and it's the monthly menstrual cycle. And to be quite honest, I was, you know, we were talking about yesterday, I think, or the day before, I don't remember, how an improper lullabanda would cause some problems and maybe like stop your menstrual cycle and cause some problems with you. But there's a good kind of stopping of your menstrual cycle where you are so driven on the path and your mind is just so single-pointedly focused on getting enlightened that it just stops automatically. Because your body knows that you're not that interested anymore in other reasons for having sexual interaction. And it just automatically, you know, you don't have a period anymore. And that's a very sweet thing, you know. And that's a really good sign that your mind and your body are, your body listens to your mind, you know. You are telling your body to do its thing, whether you know it or not, you know. And then you, like, you suddenly send a message to your body, no, I don't need that now, you know. I'm doing something else right now. I'm on a spiritual path now. I don't need that monthly thing, you know, that would enable me to have a child because I'm not doing that, you know. And that's the beginning of you being able to control kind of autonomic functions in your body. Like you start to be able to control your heart rate, for instance, when you're in deep states of meditation. And it's very, it comes very naturally. When it comes, it comes very naturally, you know. So that's a good sign. If you get to that point, you know, if you're meditating a lot, if you're doing a lot of holy practices, you know, your body will reflect it. Right? Whether you're male or female, your body will start to reflect it. Right? But you shouldn't try to induce it artificially. Like, either male or female. Like, if you're a female, you shouldn't try to hold your mulabana so much that you stop your period because it could be unhealthy for you. You should let it happen naturally. If you're a male, you shouldn't decide that you're going to practice, partner practice, and then retain your C-unit the last minute because it could be dangerous for you. You know, it could drive you nuts and give you lung conditions in your heart, right? One of the reasons that you might want to do something like retain or pull back at the very moment of orgasm is there is a place that you get right on the edge where you could maintain that particular state of bliss for a really long time. Instead of it being like a couple seconds, it would be like half an hour or something like that, you know. And when you get to that level, you can go in a very deep state of meditation on bliss and emptiness at that point. And that's what it's for. That's the ultimate goal, you know. When you're fooling around with, you know, retaining your orgasm at the very moment of the apex of it, you know. The reason is that you want to extend that state so that you can be in a deep state of meditation, so that you can actually use it to draw the winds into the central channel and see emptiness directly. That is the ultimate goal for us as yogis, for this practice of a physical nature in our body and minds, is drive our winds into the central channel, get to a state of stability of the bliss, where we can just then reside in it enough to enter into another reality altogether. Use it to enter into another reality altogether. And you can do it. It can happen. It takes training. But we talked about it before. You have to train in just plain cold, hard, old, logical emptiness. You have to get good at meditative concentration because you cannot hope to get into a state with your spiritual partner where you can go into a deep state of meditation if you can't get into a deep state of meditation on your cushion by yourself. You know, you must be able to get into a deep state of meditation on your cushion by yourself first. Don't even think about the other one. Because it's harder. It'll be more distracting with some other body there. Right? Right? I mean, you can see that. It's logical. So, you need emptiness training. You need meditative concentration. And you need a really, really strong motivation. Because otherwise you're just going to get swept away in the bliss and you won't want to think about it. Right? but it's the doorway to your enlightenment and you owe it to everybody that you love to figure out how to do this so you know we don't normally teach this especially not to crowds of people that we haven't initiated personally but it came up in Hatha Yoga Pradipika this day and you guys were in the room for it and we trusted that that was what you needed to hear at the time you needed to hear it. Whether we met you for the very first time or not. And take that as a sign. You know, like we don't teach this lightly. And you have been granted something very precious. You know, this seed in your mind that this holy body has the elements necessary to get you to a state of total enlightenment in this life and use it well. Okay? Use it well. Gracias. Thank you.
