And then do a prayer to set our intention for the class. Сочи, будь, души, мельцов, Kauri Ravim Shi Nyen Dey Nyen Padi Sangye Shindu Mejseo wa Jidyo unangam Shingvashupashom Satsang with Mooji Thank you. Thank you. We'll do a meditation. I know it's a little warm in here today, and you're really close together, and that's okay, because we had a nice rest over the weekend. Okay, some of us had a nice rest over the weekend. So, find a comfortable meditation seat, and then freeze your body still. Make sure it's something you can stay for a good, nice period of time, 10 minutes or something, without moving. even the slightest bit. Make sure your back is straight. Rest your hands gently on your knees and then slowly let your eyes fall closed. Focus your mind at the tip of your nose. Watch the air as it flows out of your body and then back in. Let your mind sink into this world. one single object of focus Thank you. So, you are a holy angel. already. See yourself now as you sit in your paradise of bliss, the most exquisite body of light you can imagine. Travel down your body and your mind's eye. See what you look like. Everything perfect, radiant, shining light. diamond See your holy exquisite face. Then your heart is wide open. Waves of love coming out. Everyone you sense around you. You are madly in love with all of them. You want to save them. And with your perfect mind you can reach out and hear the thoughts of every being around you know exactly what they need when they need it. Feel the light rays shooting out from your heart to go and touch the hearts of every being. Go to them. Serve them. Heal them. Set them free. You are capable of emanating of bodies to limitless planets throughout the universe, effortlessly and with infinite joy. You follow one thread of light down to a particular emanation on a tiny planet called or into the emanation body sitting in this room. You are here to save the world. You came in this exact form because that was the most powerful form you could take. You are an emanation of the holy angel. Everything about you is holy. Every thought you have. Every word you speak. every gesture. You take on this human form but it is just a facade. This body of yours is a shrine for the one who lives within. and it is in this way that you must go out into the world and do your holy activities It is this angel who practices the sacred art of unity. Okay, you can open your eyes. Thank you. I think there's something happening there. Gracias. Thank you. It's perfect. Thank you so much. It's absolutely perfect. so none of us would be here and none of this would be happening if it wasn't for Lady Ruth thank you for starting everybody needs a card you'll find out right later I had some people come to me they said that they just felt overwhelmed by the class they had a rest over the weekend but they didn't have and I just want to tell you we feel the same. And there's a couple of reasons. One is that the moon is on the way down this eight days. The moon is straight down. Around the time we finish the class on Wednesday night, the moon will be at its single worst time of the month. Best time. Best time. Yeah. Bring it on. I think Lama Kirsten did it on purpose. Just to see if we can go crazy. But also, if you think about it, it's been a long road. I mean, it started in New York in 93. For some people here, they've been working 15 years up to where we are now. And, you know, we went through the whole foundation and now we're up to the highest practices after 15 years. All these things are coming to fruition now. This book is finishing after 4 years. It's about 8 years now with Yoga Sutra and this. And then Diamond Mountain, they just finished the first stage of Vajrayana, Secret Wraith, after 5 years of hard work. some karpal book took 20 years the catalog that's been released with the book on Saturday took 14 years so you are sticking your head up and the demons are noticing and there are demons there are spirits, there are beings who because of their own bad karma they don't like to see people getting close to deathlessness? Like you're sticking your head out. Among all the people in this world, you have some serious chance to transform yourself in the world. To make it perfect, and to stop pain, to stop death. On this world, there are other worlds where they have stopped it already. And there are worlds that are worse than this one. We're somewhere in the middle. but this group of people you are you are giving now you are serious contenders against death and you are attracting negative forces also you will attract heavy they don't like what you are doing and then you just have to be a tough ass and the moon will get to its worst point and all this stuff will come to fruition this week whoever drives the truck of books God bless you, I don't know John drove the last one he got in a wreck on the way to the place last time we had this reception it's very powerful what you are doing is very powerful and so if you feel overwhelmed or you feel like you are going to have a nervous breakdown or you just had a nervous breakdown we all feel that way and it is a result of very powerful forces it is a compliment to have a breakdown sometimes it is a beauty in the breakdown so have your breakdown and then get back up because there's nothing else to do. Right? People are dying in this world and they don't have to. And you don't have a choice really. You just have to get back up and keep going. So, it's not so... If you know you have to get back up, then the breakdowns are easier. Okay? Alright. We're on to reading four. The practices of the combined fluid, the fluid of deathlessness and the diamond fluid together form a separate category. sprinkle ashes that you get from burning cow dung into some water so we're on the ten seals which is the main topic of the third chapter of the Hatha Yoga Padhita and we're getting towards the end of the seals but we reached one named Vajroli and Sahajoli and Amroli are considered part of Vajroli sometimes they're called the three olis say Trioli Trioli So sometimes they're considered all together, and that's what the author is saying here. These three practices go together. Why? They're all done with a partner, with a spiritual partner. If you haven't been in the course, if this is your first night, I have to give a, what do you call it, disclaimer. These verses are often taken out of the book. The book is sometimes published without these verses. Because they have to do with affecting the prana or inner channels by working with a spiritual partner intimately. And we talked for years. David, Life, and Sharon Gannon, they asked us, what are you going to do when you get to Vajrali? They asked us this three years ago. And we said, we don't know. But we decided to just try to be adults and teach it clinically. And so if this is your first night, I'm sorry for that. Tomorrow we go back to the boring stuff. But we thought like we should do it properly and do it justice. And in our tradition, in the Tibetan Vajrayana tradition, practice with a partner is the highest and fastest method of reaching enlightenment. And the texts even say no one has ever gotten enlightened any other way. So there are traditions where Vajrayana is not taught, like in Sri Lanka or Thailand or Burma, but they say people have gotten enlightened. In the Vajrayana they would say, it's not possible without working with a partner, either physical or imagined partner. So it's an important practice, and we can't go into it in detail here, it's not proper. you need an empowerment you need permission individual permission from a lama, your heart teacher to really engage in these practices so we're doing a review we're doing an overview you will know that there are such practices and I think you will come away with an appreciation for their validity or their authenticity we will explain why they work why they help you move your prana in powerful ways. And then, when your heart is ready, and when your teacher deems that you are ready, then they will introduce you to these practices. Personally. And you can't really do it in a... They do... We were at Sivananda in the Bahamas, you know. And we said, do you teach Kriyas to your teacher trainers? They said, yeah, we teach everybody the Kriyas, you know. So what do you do? What's your Gajakarana? what do you do about vomiting practice? How do you do that? He said, well, we take them all out on the beach, we line them up, and they stick their fingers down their throat and drink too much water, and they throw up on the beach. Recently there was a guy who walked over from Club Med, and all 50 yogis were lined up, throwing up, and he only saw the first one, and he stooped down to help her, and then she pointed down the line. But I don't think you can do it here, Bajrani, aren't you? So, well, just be aware. You need proper training. You need an empowerment from a qualified teacher. And you need a heart lama to teach it to you. And it's a very powerful and very beautiful and very proper, very pure way to save people's lives. Okay? All right. So, Sahajoli. I'm going to cover these two additional practices. They are tapped onto Vajroli, right? Vajroli being practiced with your spiritual partner specifically to try to reverse the flow of the downward moving wind, the apana vayama. So there are two variations on Vajroli called Sahajoli. Say Sahajoli. Sahajoli. And Amroli. Amroli. Saha means together. The S-A changes to C-O. The S-A-H changes to C-O in English, so it's like co-owners or co-partner or whatever. It means together, sah. And then ja means, the real root is jan, and it means to be born. So like generate and genesis and gene, all these roots are connected, all these words are connected to jan. So sah ja means, in Tibetan they call it henge. Say henge. Then means together, Sahah. Kei means ja, born. So Sahaja or Thenkei means they arise together. And we'll talk more about that. They come together. They grow together. Sahaja. Then Olme means fluid or oil. Connected again to the word olive or oil or fluid. And you can think of that. We call the practice the combined fluid. What does it mean combined? You're going to see later. So that's Sahajoli. Amaroli, the oli is the same fluid, right? Oil. And then Amar means not mar. A in Sanskrit, initial A, means negative. We get it in Greek, like atheist, or apathetic, or apolitical. So it means not. And then mar means to die, like mortuary or mortal. So ammara means deathlessness. It's like a marta, ammara. So amaroli means a practice which brings you to deathlessness. Why? What's the connection? You start with vajroli, you go to sahajoli, and then you do amaroli. What's the progression? Where are you going? Remember that Vajra we spoke about in last class. Vajra can mean a diamond. It can also mean the man's sexual organ. But it's also, its most important meaning is to represent emptiness. Emptiness is on a different level. Emptiness is on a higher reality. it's a reality which is around us all the time and it's a reality which you have never experienced so you are swimming in emptiness every object in this room has its own emptiness every hair on your eyebrow has its own emptiness every little line on the wall every tiny grain in the floor every tiniest part of the grain in the floor has its own emptiness. You are surrounded by millions of examples of emptiness in this room now. And you have never experienced them. You cannot. In your current condition of your prana, because of the knots and the chakras, you can't see what's really happening in this room. Can't see the emptiness in this room. One day you will, and it will save you. and that's the purpose of yoga is to get the prana into the sushumna, into the central channel which triggers the perception of emptiness and it will save you it will change your body into light it will change your mind into the ability to know all things at all times which is your normal condition which is your natural condition now it's a, what do you call it? a fluke this earth is a fluke you are in a temporary dip You know? And we are not that way. It's not what we are. We're just trying to open the channels back to where they should be, right? All of yoga is meant to be that. When you come out of your first direct perception of emptiness, you struggle for something to compare it to. How can I remember what I saw? Because you can't see it anymore. The karma is too expensive. You see? When you come out, you can remember it, but you can't see it. anymore. You're blocked from it again. The chakra is tightened up again. You saw it for 10-20 minutes the first time. Then you come down out of it and you're back to this reality. You can't see it anymore. But you're struggling. How can I remember what I saw? How will I remember what I saw? What's the one thing in this reality which is most similar to emptiness? And you always come up with the same thing. Which is a diamond. So a diamond is not similar at all. diamond is not anywhere close to ultimate reality but it is the one closest thing in this realm so in this broken realm it is the one closest thing so to name a practice Vajra Oli, the diamond fluid this is a high meaning you will use this practice to see emptiness then Sahaja, Sahajole there is a higher way to see emptiness A lower way is to read books, go to a teacher, debate, study, think, contemplate, meditate, harder, harder, do your asanas, do your mudras, do your kumbhakas, do your kriyas, right? Do all your practices. And then work very hard and you will open these channels. Sahaja is very, very important henge in our yoga tradition from India. Sajjah means don't use your brain to see emptiness. Don't use your mind to see emptiness. It is most easily observed with great bliss, with ecstasy. If you had a choice, somebody said, would you like to study emptiness for 10 years? Contemplate on it? Do all the ACI courses, all the homeworks? you know or would you rather sit with your partner go into a state of ecstasy and see emptiness like that the mind in a deep state of ecstasy is and at death in those two conditions at death and in a state of high bliss is very close to emptiness with training a yogi can use that state to see emptiness like boom easy fast so that's the sahaja means that sahaja means bliss and emptiness have grown together ja saha the bliss comes into the mind of the yogi or yogini and then they use it right away they think I'm not going to just enjoy this bliss I'm going to struggle in this moment of ecstasy can I see emptiness? Can I turn this state of mind towards emptiness? Not towards how I feel, not towards how warm it is, not towards what my body is feeling, not towards this feeling of communion with the other person. Block all that out. Can I use this state of mind to see emptiness? Can I at least use this state of mind to feel love for all people? Because that heightened the state of mind at sexual orgasm and the state of mind at death is the most heightened state of mind there is for a normal person. So can I turn it towards a higher goal? This extraordinary state of mind. And that's Sahaja. The mind comes up and then you force the emptiness out. Sahaja. Bring them both up, join them. Try to focus the mind on a higher thing at that moment. That's Sahaja. Sahaja. Then where do you get? Amara. then you get Amaroli you see then it can bring you to deathless state it changes your body changes your body to life the experience will change your body to life if you can experience emptiness once directly you are so close to enlightenment it's like I used to my dad and I used to hunt and we had this I had a 270 Remington right? it will go a mile it will go almost a mile if you see a deer you shoot over its head you shoot two feet over the deer and it's traveling so far the bullet goes like this it goes for a mile right and they have no idea where you are it just kills them you are like the bullet is just touching the the head you see after a mile after billions of years of work billions of years of lives after countless lifetimes you are this close to Amaroli you know, you are the bullet is brushing your head you see, that close after a mile, you see after traveling at the speed of sound for a mile you are that close now you see, and then you can use Amaroli flip over into a deathless state, into a different kind of being. You're all this close, or you wouldn't be in the room. Your karma would have spit you out of the room. There's 50 people who didn't make it here tonight, who wanted to be here tonight. Their karma spit them out of the room. When we gave empowerment to the first hundred and somebody people, the karma just spit out like five people. Like weird, terrible things happened the night before. and they didn't have the karma. You have the karma. You are here. You can go from Vajrali to Sahajali to Amarali. You see? That sequence. You are very close. So, learn it well. It's cool. To have a whole room full of people like this is very weird. And not, it attracts a lot of powerful forces both ways. Okay. So the last verse I get to Michael Redd says, sprinkle ashes that you get from burning cow dung into some water. Then we're going on to the next verse. Before practicing union, the diamond fluid, the woman and man should smear this mixture on their limbs. staying together in bliss this way, even for an instant leads them to freedom. So we have to go back to the first verse for a second. There's a word here that's not in your keywords that I'd like you to write down. It's a word called Pazma. Say Pazma. It's like a B-H. It's not just a Pazma. It's a Pazma, you know. Pazma. Pazma. Pasma. Pasma. Yeah, and it's sort of like, I don't know, it's like a low tone. P-pa-ma. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Okay, so that's Pasma. And that's what they're talking about here. The Pasma literally means like dust or powder, something like that. Like basmi kurya means crushed into dust, smashed into dust. And they use it in the Tibetan scriptures for describing your state of ignorance. That's smashed into dust as soon as you see emptiness directly. It's basmi kurya. It's smashed into dust. But here it's more literal meaning. It's actual dust. It's actual powder of something. And in this case, in the first verse, we see you burn cow dung, like dried cow dung. In India, it's used as fuel a lot because it's cheap. You know, it's like wood is very expensive in India. But also because everything that comes from the cow is said to be sacred. You know, so it's actually considered a holy fire if you burn cow dung. So you take the ash from that, and you blend water into it, and then you smear it all over your body. In places like Varanasi, where, I don't know if you know this about Varanasi, or Kashi was the old name of the sacred city of India, that's where everybody goes to get cremated when they die. I mean, if you have the means to go when you're about to die, dying in Kashi is the best way to go, you know. It's supposed to be a holy city. It's where they want their bodies to be burned. And then their bodies are burned on the edge of the river, cremated, you know, in these big, huge funeral pyres, and then thrown into the Gandhese River. And, like, not all of the body gets burned, So you see limbs floating down the Ganges River. And then the Ganges River is supposed to be a really holy experience to bathe in it. So you go at dawn, right before the sun gets up. And you go into the river and you're bathing. And then this arm floats by. And it's a really, really powerful practice for renunciation. It's really, really powerful to see that. Because you can forget, it's really interesting to me in America, in other Western countries, but America in particular, we are totally blocked off from death. You know, like, where is the, like, you don't see dead body ever, you know? Where are the funeral homes? Like, they're tucked away in these, like, nondescript little buildings. They don't even have, like, very big signs. Because nobody wants to look at them. Because we're in a culture that just lives with blinders on. We want our Starbucks coffee, and we want our laptops with our emails, and we don't want to think about death. That's not in my daily plan, to think about death. When is the last time you thought about somebody who is dying? Unless somebody just died in your family, in which case you're forced into it. But yogis think about death all the time. If you're going to be a yogi, that's part of your practice, is to constantly be remembering why you're practicing. I had a friend of mine recently, I hope they don't mind me sharing this, but they came up to me and said, I have this fear, like, nowadays that I'm going to die, you know. And can you reassure me that I'm not? And I'm like, no. No, I can't because, you know, we could go at any moment, you know. You could cross the street on 86th Street and some weird cab driver who thinks that's the break, but they just got to this country and they press the gas instead and, you know, there you go. It's, it's, uh, karma shifts in an instant. Like, it's this, this precious body, this precious mind, it's so fragile. You know, we talked about it. It's, it's the, the key to our enlightenment. We've got these precious elements in our bodies, these subtle elements and, and, and it doesn't last forever. You know, it doesn't last forever. You, as a yogi, you would want to remind yourself of that all the time. Because otherwise, what do we do? We just waste the time. We just waste the day away doing less important things. And meanwhile, the clock is ticking. And meanwhile, we're getting older. And meanwhile, we're getting closer and closer to that day. And we never know when that day is going to come. And so you wake up as a yogi and you think, maybe it's today. You know, maybe I'll die today. Maybe I won't reach my home tonight. Maybe that'll be it. Maybe this is the last time. You know, and then what happens is not so much a paranoia, but kind of seize the day, seize the opportunity. What can I do today which is the most powerful, most virtuous thing that I could possibly do with my time? Because I have very little of it. You know? And you get to this point where, like, every ten minutes is important to you. I guess Michael's really good at that. I'm not so good at that. He's been teaching me over the years and years. It's like, you've got to use every ten minutes, you know? And every five minutes. You've got to use every five minutes, you know? Even when you're like on hold for, you know, on the phone or like going to the bathroom or something like that. You could be using your mind space to review certain teachings. I mean, you can use everything. You can use all your time. And, you know, you're waiting for a bus and anything. Have a little tiny book in your pocket with a little, a few Hatha Yoga Pradipika phrases. a few verses and then flip through them you know at those periods through the day where you're just waiting around and uh and remind yourself oh i'm a yogi oh this is my mission in life oh i'm here to save the world oh how am i going to do that today how am i going to do that at the next meeting that i have with somebody at lunch you know how am i going to save the world at that lunch meeting And if you really thought that your time was short, if you really understood that you didn't have an infinite amount of time here, you would find a way. You would find a way to save the world at lunch. You would find a way to save the world while walking back to your apartment. You would find a way. So one of the reasons, like, you know, they're talking about a practice where two people get together, and before they have union, they take somebody's dead body's ashes, and they smear it all over their body. Now, what does that do to your mind? It reminds you, first of all, why you're there, why you're going to do this practice, you know? It really strengthens your intention. It's not for a momentary gratification. It's not simply for some lower kind of pleasure. It's because I believe that this practice with my holy partner is going to save the world. I believe that working with my channels and my drops, my two red and white elements, in this really powerful way, is going to turn me into an angel. And I can really help people that way. I believe that, you know, all the death that I see, all the pain and suffering that I see, that all my relatives are going through, you know, my mom, my dad, they're all like having heart trouble and diabetes. I believe this is going to help them. I believe this is going to save them. I believe it will save me too. So you set your intention in a very strong way with this practice. You know, it's not a light thing, smearing ash from some dead person all over your body. I don't know where you get this. In America, you've got to go to India, I think. Basma. They sell it on the river banks. You know, when they burn the bodies, they just collect some. And, you know, I have some at my house. And, you know, you stop and you think, you know, who was this? Who, who, who, what, what person was this whose ashes I'm holding? And what kind of hopes and dreams and plans did they have for their life? And they didn't make it, you know? Like, maybe they were doing a spiritual practice and they didn't, they didn't make it. Or maybe they didn't have a spiritual practice and they just kind of let their time flow out naturally, you know? There's nothing natural about death. We're not supposed to die. We're supposed to transform into something else. And it's a great, powerful reminder, this practice. So, you know, use the bliss. Use the bliss. The second reason that they use the ash of a dead human is that mostly the ash is made of bone, which is related to the white element. And the white element is the bliss. It's the element of bliss in your body. So it's like two very, very different things are happening when you use this ash. One, you're reminded of the reason why you're there, the reason why you're doing it. But two, it's like you're embracing the white element so completely by smearing results of it all over your body. It's the white element in you, which I'll remind people who, I guess people who haven't been here before. It's the white element which creates all the bones in your body, right? It's the subtle force that creates bones and semen and all that stuff. So you're taking it and you're thinking, you're saying, that's what my practice is and I'm going to worship it. I'm going to worship it so much, I'm going to smear it all over my body. And I'm smearing all over my partner's body too. One interesting thing about the Tibetan text is when they're, they also have, they talk about this in the Tibetan text. They talk about smearing ash over your body. And they say, they do different things. Like they have different accoutrements that they wear. Like they have special headdress and earrings and all these different ornaments that the angel wears to remind you of something or another. And usually they're related to the six perfections. Like one ornament is related to the perfection of giving. One ornament is related to the perfection of keeping your pure moral code. One ornament is related to not getting angry. One ornament is related to joyful effort in your practice. One ornament is related to samadhi, concentration. But then the last ornament is actually the ash. And it's related to your wisdom. And they say in the Tibetan text that females don't need the ash. Only the males need the ash. Because females are already the embodiment of wisdom. Hey, I didn't write it. I'm just relaying the message. So the females in the room have a choice. You can use the ash or you cannot use the ash, depending on how wise you feel that day. Oh, but it's interesting to see the differences in the two presentations to me, you know, between the Indian and the Tibetan systems, right? Yeah. All right, so that's Pazma. I think I need two first. Yeah. I need three. Okay. Yeah, I just read it. So the verse, it talks about before practicing union to smear this mixture on your body. The word for union here is maithuna. Say maithuna. Maithuna. The maithuna in maithuna comes from the root mih, M-I-H, which comes into Latin as Mingiri, and it means to mix together. So the word mash, mush, mix, mingle, melange, they all come from this root, to mix. So Maituna means a mixing together of the female and the male partner, a union of the two. So if you say Maituna in India, you'll get in trouble. You don't go around talking about Maituna in India. because it's a very high practice and people will be offended if you mention it. So it's interesting that the Tibetan sages a thousand years ago when they had to choose a word for this practice they called it Nyomjuk. Say Nyomjuk. Nyomjuk in Sanskrit is usually Samapati. What's Samapati? It's the word for meditation. It's the word for a deep state of meditation. It means balanced meditation. Say sama. Sama. Pati. Pati. So sama means balanced, right? Like samastiri. And then pati means sitting in a state of balance. What's the balance in meditation? Between what and what? Dullness and agitation. Otherwise called sleepy and thinking about work. Okay? Okay? Samapatti means halfway between those. The mind doesn't fall into getting drowsy. What's the subtlest kind of drowsy? It's called subtle dullness, but it's the greatest obstacle of all meditation. Wow. Wow. You know, just like not thinking about anything. you know, it's a kind of dullness you're not using the mind for anything it's like like you just had a glass of wine and you're just like and they say it's a very, very great danger for meditators that you will go for years like that and think you're making some progress real meditative state, real samapati is like, you're watching this great movie like Twilight and you know, the guy is about to kiss her neck you know and you know and you're like is he going to buy it or not you know and you're like you're like this you know and edge of your seat you know like engaged you know if somebody said you want popcorn right then you're like even red vines or or goobers or anything you know you're like don't bother me you know and and this is engaged bright sharpy, bushy-tailed, sharp, you know, into it. And that's not like the glass of wine thing, you know. Okay? You have to distinguish, you must, if you're going to learn to meditate, you must distinguish between those two states of mind. One is a waste of time. One is a waste of decades of your life, okay? You know, and the other one is like, you know, it's like bright and happy and engaged. You have to try to get to that. So, it's weird, the Tibetans, they called Maituna Samapati. They called, to describe the union between the two partners, they used a word that means a balance between the two partners. They called it the balance of the two partners. Why? It gets us into a thing called, we have it here, say, Sanya, Bhasha. Sandhya. Bhasha. Bhasha means language, right? In India, Bhasha means any language. Sandhya means twilight. The dust between dark and day. Right? And in the three year retreat we did, we understood something about twilight. This is when all the animals come out to eat. You see, all the mice come out, and all the snakes come out, the coyotes come out, we would watch them, you know, the sun would just hit the horizon, and then everyone comes out to dinner. You know, why? Because the predators can't see them clearly. All the bunnies are running around in the twilight. Because the predators, they can't quite see them clearly, right? So, sandhya means that time of day when everything is difficult to see clearly. Sandhya speak explicitly about these secret practices. Let's use a secret language. I'll give you an example. Say, Om, Mani, Peme, Hu. Okay? I mean, the Dalai Lama's mantra, everyone does it. Everyone in the world does it. I mean, you go to China, they have it on loudspeaker, it drives you nuts. You know, you want to pay the guy to turn off, you know. Om Mani, Peme, Hu, Om Mani, Peme, Hu, Om Mani, That's Sanyabhasa. Money is vajra. Money is the man's jewel. Money is the man's organ. Badma means the lotus of the woman. Badme means in the lotus of the woman. So, long ago the tantricists made this mantra to describe my tuna. But it's Sanyabhasa. Nobody knows. It's secret language. At least it was. and and there's a lesson here for us you see there's a lesson here for us it's said many times in the Hatha Yoga Padipha Cup keep your practice secret keep your practices private why? one big reason is you go out to lunch tomorrow with somebody and they say where were you last night I was at Hatha Yorupadipaka, third chapter, we're on the eighth or ninth mudra, you know. And they say, oh, Vajroli, you know. No, but they're going to say, well, what's Vajroli, you know. And then what are you going to say? How are you going to explain it to this person? See, because the world's mind is dirty. The minds of the, most of the world is dirty. And you say that in a state of ecstasy you can see higher reality if you're well trained. But the world's mind is just, in the Abhidharma coaching, the opening lines, they say the world's mind is like thumbs up, like a, what do you call it? A swamp, or muddy mud. The world's mind is like mud, you know? And you try to explain to somebody at work about this idea, and they will just say you're crazy, or there will be some scandal, or they'll say you're a dirty person, you know? Because the world's mind is that way, you see? the world can't see those things. So you have to be careful. It's not so much that they're going to call you a bad person, or, you know, oh, they're doing this weirdo cult thing. We do have a cult, but it's a Hello Kitty cult. Everybody at Diamond Mountain has Hello Kitty stickers on all their cars. They're going to say, oh, you're in some weird thing, and you're doing some weird thing. It's not so much that, okay? I mean, it hurts your feelings sometimes, But it's not so much doubt. It's that they are collecting very heavy bad karma. You see, you... We are describing a way to take the entire planet away from death. We are describing a way to change the mistake of mortality on this world. And then, if someone doubts that, or someone speaks badly of it, or someone puts it down, then heavy, heavy bad karma, really heavy bad karma. So better not, they not know about it. Better not to tell them. Better never to mention it, you see. It's not that we're trying to keep everything secret and you're going to get incense burns on your head if you tell someone tomorrow. It's not like that. It's just we're protecting them, you see, from some bad karma. which brings us to Tibetan debate and you know we have the least popular course of all time in the last 15 years was course 13 of ACI what? logic no one wants to hear about logic why are you teaching logic? teach us ma mudra, or teach us partner practice, or teach us, you know, yeah, teach us some heavy thing. You know, we don't want to hear about logic. But the core practice of logic is a very high practice for spiritual people. The core concept of all logic, all debating, all thinking, nyaya, why is it so important in India? Why do Tibetan monks have to do it five hours a day? You know, what is it about it? it's the idea of helping someone understand something how could you get someone to understand my tender how could you do that how would you do that and the core teaching of debate the core teaching of logic only use ideas which they already accept never mention anything that they don't already agree to learn in your personal interactions with everybody when you are trying to teach someone spiritual principles you are trying to save their life never mention a thing they don't already believe in help them make new connections between ideas they already accept this is a great skill this is the skill of persuasion this is the skill of a debater this is the skill of a teacher don't pull people too fast work only with ideas that they already accept. And make that your goal. Make it a skill. Learn to do that as a teacher. Never present an idea that they don't already accept. Building on the ideas that they already agree to, show them that there's a new way to tie it together, which means working with a partner is the fastest way to enlightenment. Right? Then they'll go, oh yeah! And then they'll go, oh! And it's like that, okay? Don't, as a teacher, never pull a student with anything except their own ideas. You see? Just show them new ways to organize their own ideas. And bring them higher with what they already believe. It's a very challenging practice and it's the only way to teach a student in a way which they will continue to believe it. Because if you push them too far, it will break down. You must build on the foundation of what they already accept. Or else it won't last. They will believe it for one night or two nights, and then it will collapse, right? Build on what they already believe. And take them to deathlessness this way. You see? It's very beautiful. It might require not speaking directly about O Mari Pehmihu. Okay? Got it? Alright. Okay. So we're going on to verse 94. This way of doing it is called the combined fluid. It is something which those who practice yoga should always have a strong conviction for. This particular yoga, which imparts such pleasure, takes one to liberation, even as one submits to enjoyment. So we're going to talk about the word Shraddha here. What does Shraddha mean? Ah, yes, Radha means faith, but how is it translated in the verse? Yeah, conviction, right? There's a reason for that. I think it's partly what Keshe Michael was talking about. It's a logic-driven faith. It's a logic-based faith. It's not just, oh, you see these two weird people from Arizona, and they feel a little special when you come into, when they come into the room, you feel some sort of nice energy, and so you believe what they say. That's not Shraddha, right? Shraddha is not based on some kind of emotion of the moment, because emotions fade. Shraddha is based on logic. Shraddha is based on things that you know to be true. You can't do this practice because your teacher told you to or because you saw it in a text that you like. You have to do it because the only way to embrace these kind of practices is through coming to the realization to yourself that you must do them or somebody else is going to die. That you have no choice but to practice these things. And then you should practice. Once your mind has led you through all the logical permutations that lead you finally up to that point. Oh my God, I need to practice this as quickly as possible. I need to go find someone who will teach me how to practice this as quickly as possible. Because people are waiting for me. Because I need to change my body into light. And that's the fastest way to do it. Because I've got these elements and I don't know what to do with them. And that's, you know, I need it now, you know, because there's no time to waste. If you bring yourself up to a faith based on those things, you know, based on that, then you will have a strong conviction for this particular yoga practice. It's really hard to get a strong conviction, even for people I know, you know, The people at Diamond Mountain, I think, are the smartest people in the entire world. I don't think I'm biased. Or maybe I'm a little bit. But literally, we go around the world and we teach everybody. And I've never met a group of people who had to hire a worldie, you know, except for maybe you guys. But you're like family. You're like lineage of Diamond Mountain anyway. So it doesn't, you know, it's all the same thing. it's like the New York Sangha and the Arizona Sangha of Diamond Mountain lineage so even people I know who have studied for 20 years and are practicing the very highest teachings and are embracing this practice even they struggle to maintain a kind of strong conviction because what we talked about before this is totally opposite to the ways of the world. You know, it's totally opposite to everything that you've been brought up to embrace in your entire life. It's totally opposite to everything that your family embraces. It's totally opposite to everything that the people around you in your office embrace. It's totally opposite to everything that you have been taught to be true. Right. I mean, nobody is doing this. Nobody is telling you about this. It's, um, but then you have to look at the world and what's happening. Like, what does the world embrace? What have you been taught to follow? And what have you been taught to go for as a goal in this life? You want a good career. You want a family that you can live with comfortably and happily. You want some money, enough money to get the things that you want. You want 2.5 kids, a car, and a house. Well, I mean, these are all the things that the world has been aiming us towards. But you know in your heart that the things that the world is aiming us towards are shallow and hollow. I mean, they are not going to bring you to ultimate happiness. Everyone you see in the world is unhappy. Everyone. If you look at them closely enough, they're unhappy. They are trying for their worldly goals, and either they fail or they succeed, but when they succeed, it still doesn't make them happy. If they manage to get everything they want, if they manage to get a good job, if they manage to get a good partner, if they manage to get enough money, if they manage to get... they're still not happy. Why? Because it doesn't work. What the world is doing doesn't work. So then you have to think in your mind, you have to wrap yourself around this thing in your mind. Everything that everyone taught me was wrong. Since the moment I got here on this planet, since the moment I was born, every single thing that people have been teaching me to go for as a goal in this life was mistaken. And that's really hard to wrap your mind around. Because sometimes we love the people who taught us. You know? It's like, my mom was wrong, you know? And it's hard, you know? It's hard to do that. I remember, you know, everybody wants to know the true meaning of this life. And when you're in, like, I don't know, you're like 18, 19, 20, you've got all this energy to go find it, right? And then as you get older, it gets more and more squished, that tendency to try and find the true meaning out of this life. I was in undergraduate school, and I was going to graduate school. That was my plan since I was 10. And then something shifted in my mind when I was a senior in college, and I realized that I didn't learn anything I wanted to learn in college. Like, they didn't teach me anything. And it was just all meaningless, like, drivel, really. It was just blah, blah. And it was nothing about the real meaning of this life or why I was here or what I'm supposed to do in this world, you know. And so a friend of mine said, I'm going to India. And I said, I'm going with you, you know. And I didn't go to graduate school. I went to India. And I was searching. And, you know, in our hearts, we all know, like, deep down inside, we want to give to people. We want love people. We want to save people. We want to heal people. That's what we were meant to do on this planet, you Know? That's what we were meant to do. We weren't meant to try and go out and get things For ourselves. We were meant to go out and serve other people. To go out and save other people. And then once you know that, once you've tasted that in your heart enough to know it to be true, then you have to figure out what is the best way that I, as an individual, can serve others. What is the best way that I, as a person here, can channel my energy and give to other people and help them and heal them and save them. And you look at all the things that the world tells you to do, and you know it must be the exact opposite. And you know that what you have to do might look a little bit crazy. Because it's completely opposite to the ways of the world. It's going to look strange to everyone. Because it's not normal. You know, like, we get in a cab and someone tries to cheat us or something like that. It doesn't happen very often. But, and then, Kishi Michael gives them extra tip. You know? And it's crazy. It's crazy. Like, someone, we got in a cab and they're like, they're like, I don't know, something. The meter is broken, you have to give me 20 bucks for, you know, we told them where to go. And it's like, we knew it was only 12 down there. But we were like, okay, fine, we'll give you 20 bucks. Then when we got there, our karma totally shifted. Like, that's what we both heard from the backseat, right? We're like, give me 20 bucks for this ride, the meter is broken. We both heard this. And we were like, cool. Okay, you need the money. We'll give you 20 bucks. And the meter was running fine, too. You know, we were like, hmm. So then we get there, and we stop. And we try to give the man the 20 bucks, and he holds up a 20 in the front seat. And he's like, no, no. Someone already gave me 20 bucks for the cab ride for us. You know, somebody paid for us. And he was trying to tell us, and he was trying to be honest. You see, but... Like... If we had argued with him in the back of the car when we got in, no, no, it's, you used the meter. It's only $12. I know it's only $12. Would that have happened when we got there? Like, it was a shift in our minds that made that happen. it wasn't it was not the case that when we got in he had 20 bucks in his hands and he was going to uh give us a free cab ride because someone had paid for us it was not the case it was the case that he was asking us for extra money at the beginning and then because we were because we reacted the opposite way of the ways of the world like totally opposite way then reality shifted totally shifted and uh and he held up this 20 and it was so beautiful and um and that's that's where we're going with this practice you know this is a practice that is turning something the most worldly thing that you could possibly think of like sex with two people you know And we're taking it and you're turning it into something holy and something sacred. And something that is going to save the world. And if that's not exactly opposite to the ways of the world, I don't know what is. It is a very powerful practice of transformation. Because if you make this sacred in your life, then what's left to be profane? right? like what's left what do you have in your life that's not sacred if this is sacred maybe they'll tell you they're like I know so this is this is the kind of shraddha that we need in our hearts you know going through that kind of logic thinking about how the ways of the world don't work and how because of that, this practice is what is going to save us. We are reaching in and transforming our channels and we are transforming the flow of our channels that make the time pass, that make us get closer and closer to death. That's what we're doing. We are reaching in and reversing it. We're reversing the flow inside. We're reversing the flow of time and death. We're reversing the way of the world. Thank you. and I wanted to describe some things that happened. Because the purpose of this practice, the purpose of Vipariti Karani, the purpose of Mula Bandha, the purpose of Jalandhara, all the things we've covered, the only purpose is to force the prana into the central channel, which triggers the direct perception of emptiness. And throughout the text you see this theme, right? It's called the channel of emptiness even, in the beginning of the third chapter, the central channel. So, what happens? How does it feel? What goes on? I'll just tell you a few things, okay? Just a few experiences, okay? One cool one is that you see your future and you see the day you will become enlightened, directly. You see yourself being the enlightened being who protects the whole planet full of people. You know, five, six billion people. And you are taking care of all of them. You see the day you will be that. And you are looking down on this world and you are taking care of six billion people. directly at the same time. And you see the day directly right after you come out of emptiness. Right after you come out. You see it directly. I said another cool thing. Your heart chakra opens fully for the first time. And there's this experience of a clear light coming out. And then with your eyes closed, you can see the face of every living being on every planet at the same time. And you feel like their mother. You feel like, I will take care of each one. I will be the one to take care of each one. These things go through your mind in five minutes. The direct perception of each living, not just humans, okay? Amoebas, rabbits, mice, whales, see them all face to face at the same time and you know you will take care of them imagine how that feels try to imagine how that feels you can read other people's minds clearly directly the people around you when you come out not forever okay maybe for the first 10 hours you can read other people's minds directly it's kind of fun But the one I wanted to mention the most, the one that I wanted to talk about, you come out of that experience, and then you pick up the Hatha Yoga Pradipaka, and you say, there's no other writing in the world that tells people how to do this. This is like the recipe for the cure for AIDS. This is like the only copy of the recipe for the cure for AIDS. Like, oh my God, all that stuff, all those classes, all those verses, all those thousands of books in India and Tibet, they're all true. You get this thing, like, oh my God, every one of them is true. You can do all those things that they talk about. Because when you read it and you study you don't really believe 100% of it. Maybe that's right, maybe that works, maybe it doesn't work. They're all absolutely true. Yoga Sutra, Hattirapadipika, all the great books of the Heart Sutra, Diamond Cutter, when they talk about reaching deathlessness, when they talk about saving everyone on every world, That's the only books in the world that are correct. That's the only writing in the world which is true. You see? So then you start getting really freaky about what? You've got to save these books. You've got to preserve these books. You know, whether the world understands what they have, which they don't, right? They'd rather have a Time magazine than a Hatha Yoga Padipika. Really, right? The world is insane. The world is crazy, you know? this precious thing is in their world and they're rotting you know, you go to Mysore you go to the library in Mysore these books are rotting I sent all these messages to Guruji I heard you found a copy of you know, Hatha Yoga root text Mula he mentions it in one of his books can we get a copy? he says, no, you can't I saw it in Calcutta it fell apart, it rotting there's no other copy you know, it's gone you know so so I don't know, for 21 years we are trying to save these books and and then we we thought of a cool way to do it we taught refugees to save them, you see so Tibetan refugees, and almost all women now, okay because they cannot get work in India they're not allowed to own a business in it's against the law, they're not citizens they can't own anything so we started a project 21 years ago Hewlett Packard gave us 20 computers, we started this project and they started typing in all the holy books so I don't know, we have now if you count the scans, it's about a million pages or something from many countries and we've been paying for it for 21 years just a small group of people we used to get grants from the US government we used to get grants from big computer companies the last 5 years we got these huge grants from Wall Street companies and then this year it's gone, there's nothing we shut it down for 2 months for the first time in 21 years we shut it down for 2 months we have hundreds of people around the world working refugees, poor people they are feeding their families we just said we can't do it the money is gone the companies have gone out of business so I don't know, we were in San Pancho, Mexico we were teaching a yoga program in Mexico and we had this idea we said half the world is eating too much see, half the world is overweight 66% of Americans are overweight 30% are dangerously threatening their lives by eating too much food right? so we live in a country where everyone has too much food and then all our friends in the refugee camps, all the people who are working on saving the books they don't have any food you know, they don't have enough food and they're Indian Mongolian, Tibetans Chinese enough food. They just don't have food. We shut down the centers for two months. They couldn't feed their families. No food. And you just can't imagine. You go to the center, you say, what's for lunch? They pull out a little bag and they have one japari. And it's purple. And you say, what's wrong with the japari? You're like joking with them. Is that all you have for lunch? That's my whole day's food. What are you talking? But why is it purple? We can't afford to have wheat which is properly ground. This is wheat which was not properly ground. And this is all we eat. That's all we will have today. Then I say, give me a glass of water. They bring a glass of brown water. It's brown. It's mud. It's almost mud. And I say, I can't drink that. They say, there's no other water in the building. There is no other water. We drill a well. Who can afford a well? We get it from the side of the road. And I got sick. I got violently sick. We were sick for years after that. So it just seemed so weird to me. Half the world is hungry. Half the world is dying from eating too much food. Come on. What should we do? I mean, we were sitting in Mexico. We're like, what are we going to do? How are we going to feed these people? And then we're like, shit! You know? It's so... Don't tell Sharon. Ask people. We came up with an idea. You adopt one of them. Everybody here, you adopt one. Period. It's a Tibetan woman. She has two or three kids. She has no other income. She is saving these books. For you. Right? That's the worst thing she's doing. She is saving these books so you can sit here in New York and enjoy them and maybe not die. That's her only job. That's all she's trying to do. But she needs more food. She just needs a little food. So adopt one. That's what's on your card. You take a card. You put your name. You put your email. I'll give you two options. We call it a new family. We call it a Buddha family. Five family, right? if you want to adopt one woman and her family how long? how long? forever you don't adopt somebody for two years or three years I'm sick of this grants I'm stopping grants we're not taking grants anymore we're not taking charity or donations anymore at all you want to adopt someone you adopt them they sit at your table they eat what you eat and you don't send them away after a year because it's inconvenient for you to pay 20 bucks a month or such you know what I mean? come on what would happen if everyone in the civilized world did this? I mean that poverty would end tomorrow come on it's so duh we don't even need Obama to figure it out even we can figure it out You know, so, if you want to be a head of a family, say I want to be a head of a family, it costs you $100 a month for the rest of your life. Okay? If you're not ready to do that, don't give us anything. Don't offer anything. Not interested. If someone can eat at your table for the rest of your life, put $100. Okay? If you can't do that, if you don't have a good enough job or something, put $25. I'll be a member of a family. Then we'll hook you up with four or five other people. You can support one family. Okay? they can be your family if you can do one dollar a month three dollars a month in Mexico people said I'll do five pesos that's about 50 cents and we said cool we'll put a hundred of you guys together and you can support one family so do it but don't do it unless it's for life I got all these cards because I gave such a heart stirring speech in Mexico and half the people haven't sent their money in not interested I'm not going to chase you I'm going to throw the goddamn card out you know, it means you don't understand what's going on you know, and I'm not going to feed the lady I'm going to fire her and she won't have food okay, so if you and those of you who signed a card and you didn't do it, you know I don't want to hear about it, really it's corrupt, it's weird you know, if you can't do it do it and no one's going to chase you or bug you for it you know, it's a PayPal you just do the thing online we'll send you an email and you do it online. They take it out of your credit card for the rest of your life. No, someone is eating at your table. Because if they were here and they were starving in the audience and we were all having refreshments, come on, you wouldn't give them some? Would you let someone in this room go hungry? But that's what we're doing. Because you can email them. I can give you Shaila's email in Kaibayadam in La Navla. she's hungry tonight and her three kids are hungry because somebody didn't pay their thing I don't have the money so if you can do it do it it's not going to hurt you you won't notice it after six months it'll be like your pure yoga bill your monthly 140 it's less than a pure yoga membership really come on you know so do it if you can do it do it have some courage and do it for life and that's the last time we'll talk about it okay we're going into three year retreat in two years we don't have time to fundraise we won't have any more time whatever women are working and fed at that time we'll keep them the other ones we'll let go and they won't have anything you know so if you can do it do it okay that's all you can have a break now I need to see you two guys and you can and and they are in charge of the adoption program so you can give them your cards thank you, see you in a while what is this? Okay, I have to teach you the most important to patent teaching that I receive from my teacher is how to make yak noises. Female yak noises. Okay, everybody try. Okay, okay. It's practice. Take care. I have some quick announcements because Mama Christy likes it to get all sentimental at the end and she doesn't like me to do them later. I didn't say that. Yeah, I didn't say that. There's a spiritual warrior workshop. Bruce Lee's reincarnation is coming. It's Venable Ningbo. I use martial arts practice and yoga as a spiritual practice to awaken your inner spiritual warrior. Martial arts meets yoga November 29th, 2 to 4 at Lucky Lawyers in Brooklyn? Brooklyn. That's a country east of here. Bokjinba, if you don't know Bokjinba, Bokjinba is Lama Christie's advanced meditators course that started. She was supposed to do it once in 2003, and it's still going. She's on the 14th semester. The Trans-Series Sports is better, but this one's okay. So it'll be a book to have one class with Anique Lamarand and Can they raise their heads? If you notice yoga in that other country, Wednesday, December 3rd and 10th, 8.15. So you can pick it up. That's it. If you want to learn to meditate seriously, that's good. Mama Christi has a new album. Thank you, Michael. Thank you, Michael. Thank you, Michael. Thank you, Michael. Michael is also on the album. These are songs inspired, Kirtan songs, mostly from India, also Tibet. We actually did it to raise money to fly to China to teach in China for the last year or two. And then Rob Ho kindly did all the work. Where is he? He did all the work. Yeah, me. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you. Rosa, a vegan designer. And Perrin spent like 3,000 hours mastering it. I think it's really corny new age stuff. But anyway, I mean, I'm going to put out a separate Jimi Hendrix here later but good albums take time as my okay we're about to meet some deities so I need Ningbo and Anna Marie we're going to do that now are you around Anna Marie is teaching a children's version of the Tzetsukapa exhibit at the Rubin Museum. It starts December 5th, which is Fridays. Fridays in the afternoons. And the idea is that kids come and learn how to be a deity. And her painting teacher, Pema, has designed these... Which other one? Thank you. So this is for young children, ages? Three to seven. Three to seven. They're going to use coloring books, puzzles, and creating. Coloring book was Marcha Petty's group, right? Created a beautiful coloring book for children. Thank you for that. Yay! - Oh, where's Juliana? - Right there. - Oh, which brings me to another subject. Juliana created this extraordinary, it's a brochure about the paintings. And we wanted to give you, we did an advanced printing of it, and they decided, Marcha Petty and Juliana and their group offer each of you a copy tonight. So it tells you what the heck's going on in the posters. And then this won't be released otherwise until Saturday. And then this will travel with the posters to any yoga studio that wants it. And it's free. So we just like to teach people about Tsongkhopla's way of life. You have to meditate, you have to do yoga, you have to learn to dance, you have to find your partner, you have to sing. you know what he really taught in his life we would like to have those posters be up in different yoga studios around the country and in fact Barcelona was here tonight we're taking you to Barcelona after that so if you have a studio or you know a studio and you'd like just to put the posters up and give a free booklet about what the heck's going on like how do you meditate how do you find a partner how do you make dance spiritual? They will bring it to your studio for free. And you can keep it as long as you want. And then we'll just keep going around the world. And maybe we'll make more than one copy. So if you'd like to know about that, talk to Shyam and Christine. Right there. Okay? I think I finished all that. Those paintings outside, the big original paintings by Ori, which took him a couple years, three, four years. Those are being offered for sale Saturday night, 12,000 bucks each. He's donating half the money to different spiritual projects like the Three Retreat and the Temple in Howl and the monks at Sarah, who are in a financial crisis right now. The money we gave them for food, which we took 15 years to raise the money for food for them, has been lost in the stock market. So he's offering to do that with the paintings. So if you know any fat cats who want to come Saturday, then you can do that. In the meditation room as you go out, there's a film on Ori's paintings, and there's also an iPod that you pick up at the desk, and there's guided meditations by Lama Christi on a wide variety of guided meditations. There's only three so far. I'm supposed to be doing them every day but you can sit with a nightclub and you can go to their meditation room and it guides you through a meditation that's something also if you'd like it to come to your yoga studio with the posters they're like 10 minutes long each and it's perfect for people I know it's probably not for you guys in this room who have been meditating for a while but it's perfect for people who have never meditated before you know so it'd be nice if there's a lot of things about this project, like if you were going to bring it to a yoga studio near you or far from you or whatever, that you would be bringing along with this project, like meditation for the first time, introduction to Dharma for the first time, introduction to something called emptiness for the first time, you know, and it's not just about the life of Jatsang Kappa, you're bringing a whole spiritual world to people's lives in the form of jetsan kapha. So it's a really beautiful opportunity to spread the teachings in a really fun and unusual way. Right? So. Yeah? Yeah? I think so. Yeah. Oh. All right. Do you want to do this? Yeah. No? You do this. Okay. All right. So we're going to quickly do one last thing. We will read a couple different verses. I'll just read the English since we're sort of pressed for a time. This is the verses on Amaroli. It starts in verse 96. Atta Amaroli. In the opinion of the skull sect, the practice of the fluid of deathlessness is performed by differentiating between various parts of the urine. The first part of the flow should be disregarded, as should the last, since it lacks any essence. Use instead the cool middle part of the flow. 97. but we call it the practice of the fluid of deathlessness. When you perform the practice of the fluid of diamond well, every day, always drinking the divine nectar from the practice or inhaling it through your nose, take any essence of moon that may flow out from the practice. Mix it with the ashes of cow dung and put this on the upper parts of your body. It will give you the eyes of God. So Amaroli, the fluid of deathlessness. In the beginning, Master Swatmarama talks about another school's version of Amaroli, which might be the more commonly known version, which is the practice of drinking your urine. And, you know, in this country, we're a little bit squeamish about things. We think that urine is an impure substance, and it creates diseases or something like that. And we've got a problem with it. But in the Eastern countries, it's very well known for sustaining youth and vitality in the body. In fact, one of India's most famous prime ministers named Maraji Desai, he was elected when he was 81 years old. I mean, we just elected a president who was 47. Okay, he was 81 when he got the job and he lived to be over 100. And he did this every single day and he swore by it. So, I don't know. It's a practice that, you know, it's a cultural practice, right? It's a cultural practice. And cow urine especially has been used for anisectic purposes either in the house or on the body for ages and ages in India and in eastern countries like that. So this is the practice of the Kapalikas, what he calls the skull sect. And we don't have a lot of information about this. We don't have a lot of firm information, I would say, about this cult in India. But most likely it's a Bhairava sect of practitioners. And the reason they called it the skull set or kapalikas is that they carried around a human skull with them and they used it to beg their food. And this is a very common practice of people who have given up the home life and are wandering yogis. To take something like a skull from a human body and use that as their only means of food. Because every single time you take a bite, you're going to remember your own mortality. And then you won't be so, I don't know, attracted to the taste of the food. You won't be eating for the wrong reasons. Let's put it that way. You're only going to be eating to nurture the body so you can have fuel for your practice. So you can get enlightened as quickly as possible and stop this death. Jatsangkapa, who is, you know, we were just talking about it. Sankapa carried around the skull of his mother with him at all times for the same reason. You know, like every time you look down, there she was. And it's a very powerful practice. But that's not what Master Swatmarama thinks that this practice is. He says, his version of the practice of Amarali is when you are in Maituna with your partner, you know, you are practicing Vajrali, and then some kind of nectar flows out from your body, or their body, or both bodies, and you take that, and you use that as a holy substance. Right? The whole practice of these olis, vajrali, etc. is based on knowing that you are in the hands and the arms of the holy angel and that they are guiding you to enlightenment. Right? And then also seeing yourself in the moment as an angel as well, while you are in the process of practicing with them. And so any kind of substance that comes out of your body is the most sacred substance in the whole world. It is deathless nectar itself. It is the element of enlightenment, which is, you know, the white and red elements in your body. They call it the element of enlightenment. Why? Because it brings us there. Like they call the six perfections, perfections, because it brings you to perfection. They call the substances in your body elements of enlightenment, because it brings you to enlightenment. So, it's the highest thing in your body, because it's the thing that's going to bring you to enlightenment. And so, it's something to be worshipped. Not only is it from the body of an angel, but even if you wavered in thinking of yourself as a holy angel, it would still be the highest substance in the whole world. It would still be the method of deathlessness for you, because it's the thing that's going to bring you there. so very powerful it becomes a very powerful substance ritualistically and you know you put it on your third eye here and it says it will bring you the eyes of a god what does that mean eyes of a god there's Lord Maitreya described five different eyes that you could get in your spiritual practice. And one of them is the eyes of the God. And we're going to go through all five, just so you know exactly where it is in the levels of spiritual attainment. So the first one is called the eyes of flesh. And this is a practice where, well, these are all cities. These are all spiritual, like magical spiritual powers that come to you as you are going to the ultimate goal. It's not necessarily something that you would work for. It's just something that happens to you along the way that seems kind of cool. You know? And then certain people get distracted by them and stay there. But that's, it's not, it's not the goal. It's never the goal. It's just as your spiritual practice increases, you start to get certain abilities. So the eyes of flesh is like you're staring up at the sky at night and you're looking at a star. And then all of a sudden you focus in on the star and you can actually go to that star and go to the whole solar system and see the people living there. Just by focusing on the star itself. And it happens in an instant, as if you were looking across a field. And it's that clear. So you could see objects from very far distances away. then the second one he describes is what is referred to in this text which is the eyes of a god and this is where you know you can you can just close your eyes and see somebody sitting in their living room world away or anywhere in the universe, right? You can see people across the world, like really see them sitting on their couch or something. And you can see into the past, like maybe you're looking at somebody's face and then all of a sudden you just see their past life. or you can see into the future You look at a place and you see a hundred years later, people will come and bow down to it. And these are all like what they call the eyes of God. So, why would putting the combined fluids of your holy partner and yourself on your third eye give you this ability? Any ideas? But why would it open your third eye? Why is the red light? And would it always work? yeah there's a central element here you know the stronger you're perceiving of yourself and your holy partner as an angel the more that substance is going to be able to bless you and give you these powers and the stronger that you perceive of the elements within your own body as the nectar of deathlessness that's going to get you enlightened, the more these substances are going to be able to grant you these powers. So the substances themselves are totally empty, right? They don't have any power in themselves. I'm not going to get up to you and say, Oh, you can get magical powers by smearing this stuff on you. No, it's not the point. It's what you do with your mind, you know, about these holy substances. or about these substances which are not holy or unholy in and of themselves. You are placing a certain mental image onto them and you are imbuing them with some kind of power and then you are taking them and using them once they are fully loaded with this power that you have given them. You see? So, any number of different kind of ritualistic activities with this holy substance would be powerful, depending on your state of mind and what you were thinking at the time. Like, tasting of the nectar of your holy angels' most holy substance of their entire body, if you had the perception, right? Could send you into throes of ecstasy for days, right? You see? But it's you that's going to give them that power. Because of your pure practice. Your transformation of something that is nothing, neither sacred nor profane, into something that is the holiest thing in your world. So, I have three more I's to give you, and then we're done. The third one is the I of Wisdom. And that's the direct perception of emptiness. So, these are going step by step, up from level to level. So, all these miracle powers, they come before seeing emptiness directly, you know? Like, they're not as high. for the eyes of Dharma. And this is something that happens to you after you've seen Emptiness Directly. You just pick up any book at all. and you're immediately able to grok the contents of it and understand it in the highest way. Even if someone has taught a certain book in a lower way for hundreds of years, you could pick up the same book and it would seem like the highest dharma to you and you could teach it that way. And the last one is called the eyes of a Buddha. And this is only when you become a completely enlightened being. You are able to be in the direct perception of emptiness and simultaneously see every single thing that exists in the universe. So you're able to have deceptive reality and ultimate reality at the same place at the same time, right? So you're looking at every single thing in the universe because your mind is totally omniscient. And at the same time, you are directly perceiving the emptiness of every single thing in the universe. And I don't think that our minds can even grasp what that means right now. Right? It's just... Like, we're still worried about what's the direct perception of emptiness, right? but to imagine seeing every single object in the universe. Can you even imagine that? Can you even imagine focusing on more than one object at one time? Because we can't do that right now. Our minds are single-pointed, but just very quickly, shifting from one object to the next. But we can't have more than one thing in our mind at one single moment. It's impossible for us right now. And to even imagine having more than one object in our minds at a single second. It's just so hard. You know, so then, you know, multiply that by infinite. And then put emptiness into it. It's just, it's so beyond us, you know. The Buddha's minds are so beyond us. But it's so powerful for us to think of. How beyond us it is. It's so powerful for us to imagine what we will one day be. So those are the five I's. And we'll end the class there. Thank you. Thank you. Satsang with Mooji Sonam Yeshe, So, So, Shin. Salam Yeshe Lejong Lej. Danpar Kuni Tovar Shog. Thank you. はい
