<iframe src="https://drive.google.com/file/d/1r7mO433-WtByXWcpunotuU3mg9WXqHCk/preview" width="100%" height="80" allow="autoplay"></iframe> We'll start with an offering to all the many Islamists who brought us these holy teachings, and then a prayer to send our intention. Thank you. Sampai jumpa. Satsang with Mooji We're going to start with the meditation. So, get comfortable. Lama Christi always says every time you move in meditation the person next to you might not see emptiness because you disturbed them So imagine that. Then we'll do the traditional preliminaries to every meditation you ever do. Just watch your breath coming out to your nostrils. Out-breath is the first half of the count. In-breath is the second half of the count. Try to count ten breaths without thinking about anything else. And if you think about something else, start over. If you're honest, you shouldn't get past two or three. Think of your heart teacher, whoever your heart teacher is. Think of one fine quality of them that you would like to have, and just admire that quality of them. Thank you. Think of the most negative thought or word or deed you did today and open your heart and confess it. Think of the kindest thing you saw someone do today and thank them in your might. Think of someone in this room that you've seen in the last few days of the teaching that their general behavior is such a beautiful example of what you would like to be, how you would like to act. They are teaching us by example rather than by words. And think about them, ask them to teach you in that way, continue to teach you by example. then ask the teachers all around you, the people who have taught you, the people who continue to teach you, ask them to stay in your life. Now I'd like you to start anuloma biloma, breathing into one nostril and breathing out the other nostril, even if it's just in your imagination. Don't use your hands. So we will exhale through your left nostril, inhale through the right. Exhale through the left. Inhale through the right. exhale through the right inhale through the right keep going You have this feeling that the breath from the right nostril is moving over to the left nostril about an inch behind your nose, right? It feels like the breath is moving from the right to the left inside your nose. But now imagine it differently. When you breathe in, all the breath comes down your whole right side of your chest and abdomen. The whole right side of your body, of your torso, is filling with the air. And then it all moves over to the left together and comes out your left nostril. So instead of the air circulating inside your nose, it's coming into your right nostril coming down into your body en masse moving to the left side of your body and then coming out your left nostril try to think of it that way Now, when you breathe in the right nostril, imagine that the breath goes down all the way down to your waist, and then a little bit lower, and then when you breathe out to the left nostril, the breath is passing from the right side of your body to the left side of your body, only below your navel, only in that smaller area. Into the right, down the body, passing over to the left below the navel, passing out the left nostril. Now I'd like you to observe when the breath comes out of your left nostril, how far from your face does it reach? How far does the breath reach in front of your face? If you held up your palm, how far away from your face could you still feel your breath? Maybe three, four inches? breath is still coming in the right breath is still going down the body on the right side breath is still passing to the left below the navel breath is still passing out the left nostril. Then you feel it going away from your face, four inches. Make it a foot. Change it to a foot. Exhale so slowly, nicely that the exhale is now a foot long away from your face, from the left nostril. Two feet now. The exhale is two feet long. Up, away from your face. The stream of breath goes two feet away. Sixteen. With your breath, you are touching the wall in front of you, 20, 30 feet away. Touch the ocean on the edge of Manhattan. With your exhalation, touch the edge of the ocean. Think of something you want nowadays in your life that you cannot get. You tried, you cannot get it. you feel frustrated maybe angry send that anger send that frustration to the edge of the ocean let it sink into the ocean on the exhale up out of the left side of your body up out of the nostril send it to the ocean let it sink into the water something I cannot get . . Switch your breathing now. Breath is coming into both nostrils, left and right, both nostrils. Then it's passing out of your central channel. Breath is coming in left and right. Breath is coming down your body, left and right sides. Breath left and right is joining below the navel. Both breaths are joining and then coming out of the, up along the spine. And not out of your nose, but out of the spot between your eyebrows. Maybe an inch up from your eyebrows, maybe an inch into your head. A place where the breath is coming out. breathe in through both nostrils breathe out through the space in your forehead into both nostrils out through the space in your forehead four inches 6 inches Up foot Touch the wall in front of you with the exhalation coming out of your forehead. Imagine the thing you cannot get. imagine in the world the person you like the least on the breath from your forehead send them the thing that you want make it a gift to them give it away to them breath coming in left and right breath going down the sides of the body breath gathering below the navel breath flowing up the spine breath leaving from the forehead and on the wind of each breath a gift to the person you like the least in the world of the thing you want the most Thank you. Think of your heart, teacher. Dedicate the breath to their long life. Ask them to stay with you. Not just this life, but all your lives to come. Ask them to bless your mind. ask them to protect you stand invisible over you like a great bird with its wings protecting you Okay, then slowly open your eyes. So we'll go to verse 95. Only those who are reaching good deeds, who have great knowledge, who have seen reality, and who are capable of deep passion can succeed at this kind of yoga. It is not for those who are squeamish about passion. Okay, so we're still talking about the olis here, and we've got a couple more questions to deal with for that. So like around half the class is going to be about that, and then we're moving away from the olis. So here Master Swab Marama is talking about four things that we need in order to succeed in this practice. And it's very important for us who are at the cusp of being able to practice things like this. I mean most of the people in this room are not at the point where they are practicing. They're at the point where maybe it's the first time you've heard of these practices or maybe you're getting the feeling that you should be doing some of these practices. And how do we go about actually doing it? Because we keep telling you we're not really going to teach it here. We're just going to cover the verses on the Hatha Yoga Pradipika that are in the reading because they're there. And then you have to go learn them somewhere else more fully. And how do you go about doing that? Well, first of all, he says you have to have incredibly good karma. We talked about it before, the karma to take a human rebirth with all the elements essential for your enlightenment within your very body is one kind of good karma. And I don't know how many people in the world today, how many human beings on planet Earth, there's like six billion people have that karma. But how many, out of all those six billion people, how many of them actually ever even heard of the red and white elements? No. And then of the people who heard of the red and white elements, how many of them would actually dedicate their lives to bringing about the transformation that you need to bring about in order to become the being who you're supposed to be? I mean, out of all the people in the world today, there's about, I don't know, 200 people in this room and it might be you. It might be no more than a few more than the people in this room. Just a handful of people compared to 60 billion people who even have the idea that you could reach the angel's body and mind in a single lifetime. By using the winds and channels, by using your inner body, by using your mind, you know, meditating on emptiness. And so, so rare. The karma is so, so precious and so rare. And you know, it can shift in an instant. Right now you're like, yeah, I'm going to practice. I'm going to be a great yogi. I'm going to dedicate my life. And then, I don't know, something distracts you. Something distracts you. Like you get involved in a job or you get involved in a relationship or you get involved. Something pulls you away from your practice. And then suddenly, like, 10, 20 years go by, and you haven't looked at this stuff. And you're like, what? I was supposed to transform into an angel's body of light, and then I just got busy. So it's really fragile, even for the people who have it in their minds, who understand the process on a theoretical level, which all of you do. Or you probably wouldn't come back the next day, if you're coming back. That we have these crucial elements within our bodies that could be used to transform us into something higher. Something that could save all beings. Even though we theoretically understand it, the karma that it takes to keep your mind on that constantly day after day. And committed to the path and committed to the goal. It's a lot. You know? takes a lot of really powerful good karma to keep your mind centered there. And one of the ways you can... Then all of a sudden everyone's like, well, how do I collect that amount of virtue? Teach it to other people. Doesn't have to be in the middle of pure yoga, a big 200-people class. share your knowledge with somebody else. Like over coffee, you know, over Thanksgiving dinner. It's a perfect opportunity to sneak, you know, like turn the conversation away from football. Or the Twilight Zone, which is what my family always watched. Do you guys, I don't know how many of you know, but there's like a Twilight Zone back to back all Thanksgiving. If you have nothing to talk about, you can just watch TV with your family. And that's what we did. So instead of that, you know, instead of, I prefer to football, actually. You know, that's kind of cool. But there's so much more important, cool things to talk about. And, you know, you've got to go away from the TV for a little bit just to have, like, the actual dinner. You know, when you're sitting around the table. The TV's in the other room. And then, no, no, no, no, no, no. I have a plan. I have a plan. So you're like taking a bite of the mashed potatoes because you're not eating the turkey. And then someone brings up some, you know, and then you like slide into some kind of, I don't know, really subtle conversation about, you have to think about a skillful way to broach subjects that would be, that would make people more aware, you know. And it doesn't have to be, you know, Hatha Yoga, Pradipika, verse 95, you pull it out of your pocket, no. It's not going to work like that. You have to be really tricky and use skillful means. That's what they, in the Tibetan scriptures, they have this word, tapke. Say tapke. Tapke. Tapke means skillful means. So, you know, you look at your family, and you look at their interests, and you look at their potential to understand these things. And then you gauge your topic of conversation based on the person, the individual person. Because that's the only way that you're going to get through. You know, you have to morph to your audience of choice. right? Like, we just took a picture with this famous photographer over there named Ruben, and he's trying to sell us as some... What? No? What's your name? Robin. Robin. I'm sorry. I just met him today, so forgive me. So anyways, he's famous to remember me. His name is Robin. And like, they're trying to make us into some business people, you know, for the cover of this business book and you know when we go to China we teach all about money and stuff like that and it's like you have to be skillful yogis and yoginis you have to learn how to morph according to the needs of your audience if people are interested in money then when you're at the Thanksgiving dinner table you're saying well you know the real way to get money I just learned this and you talk about you know how when there's a financial crisis going on in your country, the best thing to do is to give away money because, you know, it plants really powerful. There's this thing about karmic seeds, you know, it plants these really powerful seeds in your mind. And you see yourself give away money and then money starts coming back to you. And, you know, you, you, you gauge the level of the audience, you know, according to what they're interested in. So find some way to teach other people about higher truths And then your own path will never be wavering. You will always have the karmic seeds to be committed and interested and on your path to enlightenment because you're always regenerating that karma by helping other people. Second quality that Master Swatmarama says we need is, you have to have great knowledge in order to do these practices. So, we've been talking over the last couple of days about how much you need to understand karma and emptiness in order to do these practices. Like last night we were talking about how, you know, some Oli, you know, you are utilizing certain substances and considering them precious and holy and sacred. But really, they are neither, right? They're not gross, dirty substances from their own side, and they're not holy, sacred substances from their own side. They are blank. They have no nature of their own. But if you don't understand this in a very, very deep and real way, you can't do these practices. There's no way you could do these practices because they won't work for you. If you're not very, very well versed in karma and emptiness, you won't understand how these practices are going to work for you. So, you know, you need the very good solid training in the open teachings of cause and effect and emptiness. And then, which is like, you know, all the ACI courses that are going down at the Three Jewels and Lucky Lotus and other places, you know. All the open teachings, you know. Thousands of hours training your mind in how things really work. And then once you are very well versed in that, you need to be granted the blessing of an empowerment. Some people in this room are already in the process of taking the training to get their empowerments And I would like to thank all the people who have committed themselves to coming here and taking on the lineage of New York Sanghas. I think that's the way that the teachings will spread. It's the only way that the teachings will spread in this country, in the Western countries. You know, it's if you yourselves take responsibility to pass on the lineage to others. And then I'd like to commend all of you who are their students for really, truly seeing them as lamas and honoring them as such, because that is the only way that the teachings are going to spread in this country. You know, your teacher doesn't have to be a red-robed monk from India or Tibet or know a lot of foreign languages in order to pass on the empowerment. So that's a beautiful thing that's happening here. For those of you who are not in that circle of people, you might have some questions about what is an empowerment and who can get it and why do we have to take it and all of these interesting things. I'd like to talk a little bit about that because that's the doorway into these higher teachings and we haven't talked about it yet. The reason you would want to take an empowerment is because you have decided in your own mind that you will do everything and anything that it takes in order to get enlightened as quickly as possible because you love people and you can't see them in pain anymore. It's just unbearable to you and you've had enough. And that's the one and only reason that you would take a tantric empowerment because tantric path is for people who want to get enlightened in this life. They want to do anything possible to change their body and their mind into a holy angel in this life. And they don't have any other more important things to do with their time. So that's the people who take tantric empowerment. You also have to be very well versed in open teachings of emptiness and karma. You have to have a certain understanding of emptiness in order for tantra to work for you. And I think you've understood that in the past couple days with what we've said. So what is this empowerment? I mean, it's like there was a certain holy angel who granted a certain person certain precious teachings. And they, you know, came down and poured the knowledge into their body and mind, into their mind stream. And then that person found a worthy student, a worthy vessel, they call it a vessel, and came and poured the lineage down into them. And then it went on from teacher to student, unbroken throughout the ages, one after the other, just pouring this knowledge in. And it has nothing to do with the words, you know. It's a power. They call it an empowerment. It's a power. It's an energy of the teachings, of the embodiment of the realizations themselves. So, once you have had this embodiment of the realizations from all the teachers throughout the ages poured into you, then you have the power to practice these teachings. And then magic things start to happen to you. Just amazing. Like miraculous things. So it's a permission and a power to practice the higher teachings. And they say in some of the tantric texts that if you try to practice without the blessing of the lineage, it's like taking sand and churning it and thinking you're going to get butter. Like, I don't know if you know how to make butter, but you use milk. I mean, if you're from New York, you just buy everything, you don't make anything. You know, it's like you can churn sand as long as you want, and nothing will happen, right? Because, and that's the analogy of people who try to practice this without a proper blessing of the lineage, right? You have to have a very powerful, strong connection with the person that's giving you the empowerment. You have to think of them as your holy tantric rilama, and you have to honor them as such. And you make that relationship with them until you guys are enlightened. So it's a very serious commitment to make to somebody else, to take them as your tantric teacher. And it's not something that should be taken lightly by either the teacher or the student. You must both think very hard before you enter into that relationship because it's non-refundable relationship. it's um and it's serious right no matter um you know i've given tantric initiation to several people and um i can feel them wherever they are in the world and if someone's upset I feel it and I mean it's a very powerful connection and they say in the scriptures if you know it's you and your student are like two yaks yoked together and if they fall you fall like if they just I don't know It's like you're totally responsible for them once you take them as a student. So it's a very serious commitment on the teacher's side to take somebody as a tantric student because you are yoking yourself to their faith. Like whatever happens to them happens to me. And you take that responsibility like an honor. Yes, I will follow you wherever you, you know. All the trials and tribulations that you have to go to to get to enlightenment will be mine also. But it's a beautiful path. And it's an honor. And it's happening in this country, in this room. And it makes me so happy to see the lineage spreading here. and to see actual authentic teachings being passed on from teacher to student in a real and living way. And so please, you know, please continue, all of you who are doing that, right? All of you who are tantric students now have to think about becoming tantric teachers, right? There's no reason why you can't teach your own students when you have found, when the time is right and the student comes to you who you feel is ready. So, that's the knowledge part. He says, you have to have seen reality. So, you know, this would seem to refer to the direct perception of emptiness, right? So does that mean that all those always practices are only for people who have seen emptiness directly? Actually, you know, most of the time we sell this practice as something that can get you to see emptiness directly, you know? Because it's a practice that really powerfully brings the winds into the central channel. Which is what you need in order to trigger the direct perception of emptiness in your mind's stream. Where the winds go, the mind will follow. Where the mind goes, the winds will follow. So much of the time when we talk about this practice, we're talking about, yes, use it to see emptiness directly. and bridge your partner and go into union and focus on the emptiness of the bliss and get your wins into the central channel and go into the clear light. And that's the goal. But, you know, Master Swatma Ram is like, those who have seen reality, those who have seen emptiness, get to practice this. And I think there are other goals to this practice besides seeing emptiness directly, someone who's already seen emptiness directly, if they practice this, it would lead them to reaching the state of an angel's body and mind in this life, for instance. Because they would learn how to use their winds. And this is the path of gom lam, you know, the path of habitation, where you are getting rid of all of your negative thoughts after using what you've seen in the direct perception of emptiness to perfect your mind. But this practice would be using what you've seen in the direct perception of emptiness to perfect your whiz, which would perfect your mind. You see, because they're the same thing. It's just a physical representation of your mental state of being. So you use the practice of working with a partner to purify the body, which purifies the mind, ever faster than you could if you were just on a path of trying to work with the afflictions alone. And that's the reason why you could do it in a single lifetime. But I think for most of us, you could take number three as we need to understand emptiness very, very well before we practice. Then the last one that Master Swatmarama talks about is those who are capable of deep passion. I think it's really important to say that these practices are not for everyone, right? It's not, like we talked about before, there are, you must use inner and outer means to achieve the angel's body in this life. That is true. You don't necessarily need to work with an outer partner to do that. You can focus inside and use a path free of desire to work with the inner winds and channels and drops. And get your mind into the central channel that way as well. It depends on what your propensities are. If you are the type of person who has a lot of life energy, and you have a lot of desire, and you have this, I don't know, kind of a zest for life, I guess you'd say. You like food, you like music, you like sex. No, seriously. Maybe when you were younger, you've got this very powerful attraction to sense objects. And then that's an energy in and of itself. That's a power. That's a prana, like a life force in and of itself. And what we're doing is we're taking that and we're channeling it towards higher means. Like we're taking that life energy that's such a powerful energy in and of itself, and we're just directing it towards a higher focus and using it for enlightenment. Right? But it would be difficult to practice this kind of practice if you weren't really that into it. You know, like if you were like, you know that smearing substances all over myself, that sounds really gross. You know, if that doesn't really appeal to you as a practice, you know, or that like, oh, the dead body ash thing, I really just can't do that. You know, like it's not something that you should force yourself to do if you're not attracted to it. That's what he's saying, you know. Like, it's definitely not that kind of practice. It's for people who are like, they read it and they're like, wow, I've got to try this, you know. It's for those kind of people and not for the other kind of people, right? So, then there's this one little side issue of, you know, maybe you were that type of person when you were 16. And then maybe your energy or your life force has started to dwindle as you got older. And then what do we do about that? Because in the text it says, in the Tibetan text it says, you'd want to capture your partner from age 12 to 30. You know, because after that they start to lose their life energy and it's not so good to practice with them anymore. Right? No, seriously, there's stuff in Tibetan texts. And they're all very male-oriented, right, too? They're all written for Tibetan monks. And so they all just talk about the woman as like, you've got to find a girl from 12 to 30, that's it. But there's a caveat always in all of these texts that says it doesn't matter how old you are. If your understanding of emptiness is at a certain level, your life energy will always be at a certain level. So if you wanted to increase your life energy, meditate on emptiness. Think about emptiness. I would say also, you know, a daily regimen of meditation and yoga, keeping your morality nicely. And those things will all help you in maintaining or heightening your life energy. If you really wanted to heighten your senses, go do a three-year retreat. it's a nice perfect way if you want to hear music like you've never heard music before go be in silence for a good period of time alright We are on verse 99, chapter 3. Pūsopindum samakunca samyaka bhyasa patava yadinarirajoraksha vajralyasa piyogini. Suppose a woman is able to retain her ovarian fluid through the practice of the diamond fluid because she has practiced well and is adept at drawing in the man's vital drops. Then too we would call her a deep practitioner of the female kind. Next verse. It is beyond any doubt that the ovarian fluid of such a woman would never then decline in vitality. The mystic sound within her body would also transform into the essence of the vital jobs themselves. I think we've mentioned, Because of John Brady's project, Asian Classics, we've been able to have access to about 17 different editions of this text. Because texts in India were copied by hand. They didn't have wood blocks. So there were errors introduced every generation. So we've been able to piece together an authentic version of the text. All the sections on practice with a partner have been deleted from many editions because they were thought to be impure. And then these two verses were deleted from almost all the texts. Why? Because they deal with the woman's side of the practice. They're dealing with, you know, how does it feel from the woman's side? In Tibetan tradition, we have thousands of pages on these practices. They are the main practices of the secret teachings. Lord Buddha taught about 40 volumes, 40,000 pages on these practices. But there's no mention of the women's side, that I have found. It's always from the men's side. It's always advice for the monks. who are practicing. So I think in one sense, the fact that these verses are even in the Hathiyava Padipika makes it a special book. It makes the Swatmarama, if he was a guy, I don't know, a special yogi. And you get that feeling from the opening verses. I mean, if you know yoga, if you've tried all these practices, then he opens his text with like, here's what your retreat house should look like, here's what kind of fence you should have, You should have this kind of well. Nishishadjutanjitam. Watch out for bugs. You know, like, he did retreat. You can tell he did retreat. You know, you can tell this person who wrote it is a yogi, which is very refreshing. Some of the Tibetan texts are 14th hand by some guy in a monastery who never had time to do a retreat, you know. So, it's great to see the woman's side of the practice. We were in Varanasi. We studied for a few years in Varanasi. We kept a room there. And we had one opportunity to study with a very, a good, like, youngish yoga teacher, very, what do you call, well-trained in the ancient tradition, in the very traditional yoga, Mata. He was from a very, he was brought up in a yoga Mata. He studied in the ancient tradition. And we asked him one day, we said, we were up on the roof doing our yoga together, and we said, what has changed in yoga in the last thousand years or so? Or in the last few generations? What's new in yoga? He said, women. And he was all upset. And now women are doing asanas and teaching asanas. And we were shocked. because we thought he was a pretty cool guy and a pretty good teacher. But there's always been that kind of bias in the tradition. I think now in modern times, I don't know, we went to Om Yoga today, we had a fun class, we had a nice class. I was the only guy in the class. And that's not too unusual. And among teachers, it's mostly women now. And I think it's kind of cool. I think it's a sign of good times. We are in enlightened times. I think it's a good sign. They talk about the woman being able to draw up the man's vital drops. This is a reference, if you think about, if you remember, the main pranic reason to practice with a partner is to reverse the apana bayi. The downward clearing wind, which eliminates feces, eliminates urine, and eliminates a lot of your energy, is brought back up. So, from the man's point of view, the man would practice contraction of the male organ, and even practice drawing water up, and practice trying to reverse the inner winds, and bring the prana up to the heart. Why? For people who weren't here, it sounds weird, right? What are you trying to do? If you can draw energy towards the heart, instead of away from the heart, you get younger. That's why people say, Dharmamitra, if you go to one of his classes, he'll talk for an hour about, oh, some yogis just do shoulder stands their whole life. They do two hours of shoulder stands every day. That's all they do. Because it draws the energy down. Well, you're upside down, meaning up. So the downward clearing wind is being drawn back up. And he's, I don't know how old he is, 70? 69. Okay, so he was in what, Vogue? Doing a... Vanity Fair. Vanity Fair, doing a no-hands headstand on the top of his head on a... On a manhole cover. On a manhole cover on New York Street. In the middle of New York Street. With no hands. A headstand at 69. You know? And you feel like he's just a kid. You feel like he's just starting, you know? And he's... If you can draw energy towards the heart, then you are conserving the life force. You are actually creating life force. And then you can use that force to see higher truth. So it's not all about getting young, it's about getting young and then seeing higher things. Using the energy to see higher things. So, from a woman's point of view, she contracts her organ, she drives to draw what they call vital drops out from the man. It isn't semen. that's not drops of consciousness semen is a reflection of an energy in the body in the same way that menses is a reflection of energies in the body you're not trying to draw the physical elements out of the person's body you're trying to draw energies or consciousness itself up out of their body and specifically when the man is being the main practitioner he's trying to reverse his apana vayu, right? He's trying to draw her apana vayu, her downward wind, he's trying to draw it into his body to push his downward wind up, right? And so for a woman it's the opposite. Then the woman has her turn. Or she probably went first. And then she tries draw his downward clearing wind, now she tries to draw it out its normal way, its natural way. She tries to draw it down and then up into her body to force her own downward moving wind up. What was the example in the scripture? Incense smoke in a straw. There's incense smoke sitting in the straw. If you take some incense smoke in your lips and blow it into the straw, it will force the other incense smoke back the way it came. And that's always the example of how the partner's downward clearing wind, one partner releases it and tries to drive it into the other partner. And then the second partner tries to draw it up and reverse their downward clearing wind. It's the same as a good headstep, but more fun. Then the result that he describes for the woman is that the woman's sexual vitality and her vitality in general, her the strength of her life force will increase. If she can reverse that prana, then the strength of her life force will increase. If she is able to draw down the... pranavaya. Who said? Yeah. And raise up the pranavaya. If she If she creates a compression at the heart chakra, of the two winds, right? She will start to go into higher states of consciousness. You see? In the beginning, she will hear inner sounds. And we gave examples, like a sonic boom, but there's no plane. Someone's slamming a huge door, but there's no door. Just this feeling of a, what do you call that? A concussion feeling. inside the body, inside the mind. And that's a sign of nada, right? That's a sign of inner soundness. And then soon after that, and that might be accompanied by physical contractions also of the body, right? And you might notice when you're falling off to sleep, consciousness reaches a certain point, your body jerks and then you start falling asleep. So it's the winds traveling to the heart. These signs will happen. And then soon after that, breath will stop. You just go and kevalat kumbhakar, right? A spontaneous suspension of the breath for 10-20 minutes. You didn't breathe for 10 or 20 minutes, right? And then that woman will go into direct perception of higher truth, higher reality. What's the big deal about that? We have to repeat it, right? What's the big deal about that? If you can pull it off for 10 to 20 minutes in an entire human life, you will become the person who can save countless worlds. Wherever Jesus came from, wherever Buddha came from, wherever Muhammad came from, they did this already. They came to this world, we say, from some higher plane, from some higher reality. They're not just guys who showed up in Israel and just got smart somehow. We don't believe that. They were somewhere before. We were all somewhere before. People don't happen by accident. They reached a certain level and then they were able to come to a planet to help the people on that planet. And they're not restricted to a single body. So the purpose of what the woman, if she can draw up the wind of the man, and if she can compress the winds at the heart, and if she goes into sounds and movements of prana, and then make contact with a higher kind of reality. Then, within weeks or months, she will perceive her own enlightenment. She will see directly the day that she can serve billions of people by sending out Jesus's and Moses's and whoever needs what. She will reach that. That's the point here. Is it possible? Is there such a thing? Is it just all some kind of religious mumbo-jumbo? You can find out for yourself. No, do a little practice. Do a little meditation. And you will see those beings. You will see one and then you don't worry anymore. you see, you meet one and then you're like, okay, okay alright all that blah blah in the class I guess it's for real you know don't be, they call in Tibet they say, don't be the frog in the well you know the frog told the crow who perched on the side of the well the frog said I'm the biggest I'm like king of the world and the crow said, oh really why? I am the king of this entire body of water. This is the world. This is the whole world. And Kro said, you want to take a little ride? And Frog said, where? I mean, this is the whole world. He said, well, just humor me. So Frog got up to the edge and Kro came down. This is Hiropodesha, okay? And Crow took frog to the edge of the ocean. This is always what happens in the Hidupadashi. Crow drops frog down on the beach. Frog opens his eye. Frog sees the ocean. Frog's brains explode. He never went home. I mean, these Indians, these are the mother of Aesop's fables, right? But don't be like frog in the well. I mean, don't think, Oh, I've seen all the kinds of people there are. And I didn't see anybody who was emanating. And don't be like frogs. We're just... If you exist in the universe, there must be billions of people exactly like you. Because the odds are unlimited. There must be Hatha Yoga Pradipika classes going on on billions of planets at this moment. By somebody who looks just like us. Don't think small. No, if the odds are infinite, what are the odds? If the odds are infinite, then this is being repeated countless times in countless worlds. Don't be... That's just... Anybody would accept that. Anybody could... If the odds are infinite, and you roll a dice, will you get a one? Yeah! If the odds are infinite, then could this happen again? Infinite. Can this be going on somewhere else? Can other people be, just like us, be doing the same thing? Of course they are. There are countless kinds of beings, and you can practice this practice, learn to draw up his wind, and that's the first step. Okay? That sounds fun. Verse 102. Any woman who can retain her ovarian fluid by drawing it up is truly worthy to be called a yogini. She will come to know the past and the future and will surely become a dancer in the sky. Ketchari. So we're going to talk about two different meanings of sky dancer. So, you can achieve certain concentration levels that give you certain powers of like being able to fly, for instance. You can work with your muddara chakra and your swati sana chakra and learn how to levitate off the floor. It's not so difficult. and you can learn how to change your body into air or change the air into water and swim through the sky because you understand the emptiness of certain elements around you. And because of your understanding and because of your meditative concentration, you are able to focus on them and then transform them into something else. And this is the same for people who walk on fire. You've seen things like that, right? And it's a kind of siddhi or power that comes to you as you are trying to get to the ultimate goal. And obviously it's not the goal itself. It's just some kind of nice perk. And sometimes it comes and then it goes away again. But things like this will come to you. if you are really committed to the path. Like, really neat, nice, interesting things will come. And sometimes people start to get a lot of dreams that they're flying. And that's actually a really powerful sign that it's a really, really good sign in your mind. It's almost as good as getting it in real life, you know. So if you ever get those dreams, you know, that you're flying in the sky, then you can just be happy about them. And try and figure out, like if you're really interested, like try and figure out how you did it in your dream. You know, like pay attention. How did I fly? Is it like that Superman thing? Or is it like, I just, you know, you know, it's because, you know, this reality and the dream state are very closely related. You know, it's just a step away. They're both mental images coming from your mind. They're both just pictures, right? And it's just, like, this world is like a dream. And it's the same thing as a dream. There is no real substance out there. It's all just a picture in your mind. But you feel things, and you see things, and you smell things, and touch things, and taste things. And it feels real, right, when you're dreaming. It feels like you're actually flying in the sky. And the only difference between those mental images and these mental images is that those mental images, you perceive that they are a dream. And these, you perceive that you are awake. It's a different label attached on the same picture. You see? It's a slightly different label attached to the same picture. And so it's that close. So if you're getting dreams of flying, it's a good thing. But Sky Dancer always refers to something else as well. It's a metaphor for something higher than just a simple city that you can attain. They say it's a common attainment. Flying in the sky would be considered a common attainment. Something that someone could do who didn't even understand karma and emptiness. You could figure out how to fly in the sky even if you didn't understand karma and emptiness. And that's why they call it a common attainment. And it doesn't in and of itself get you anywhere on the spiritual path. Your ability to fly in the sky is not going to save your mother. So, let's talk about the deeper level of flying to the sky, which is flying to the sky of emptiness. Sky is always a reference to emptiness in the scriptures. like in the Mahamudra text that we were just doing this last term at Diamond Mountain it's a reference to the true nature of your own mind like they said like a bird leaves no tracks when it flies through the sky so too your thoughts leave no marks on the true nature of your mind. Which, you know, you're trying to figure out what is at the very bottom of you. Right? You have done the emptiness of your world, and you've done the emptiness of even your own body, and you're like, oh, it's all just a mental image, it's all just a mental image, But what about your own thoughts that are going through your mind? Right? They, too, are just a mental image. And then you learn how to sit back and watch them come. And it's like mental images are popping up and then leaving. From where? From this vast, God-like space that is your mind, you know? And so you start to get closer and closer to what they would say is the true nature of your mind, which is emptiness itself. And it's very beautiful. Qualities, you know, the sky is infinite. The sky is immutable. You could think of it like empty space or place, location in space. And the reason they equate space or sky with emptiness is because it's an unchanging thing. And emptiness is also an unchanging thing. But space is something you can wrap your mind around versus emptiness, which is really hard to get your mind around. Like, when we were in India and we were studying Shrongi for the first time, Geshe Tipton Rinchen was demonstrating space for us, you know? and he's like, here's the space. Now it's filled with the cup. Now it's empty space. Now it's full of the cup. But did the space itself change? No, it's always that place. You see, that's always that space. So that's what they mean by it's unchanging. It's like that, you know, it's like a bird that crosses it. Here's space, and you put something in it, and then it leaves. But did it touch the space? Did it alter the space? No, you can't touch it. You can't change it. It's immutable. It's empty space. And then you start to get an idea of what an unchanging thing is like. And then you start to get an idea of what emptiness might be like. You know, so it's like a cop's skip and jump to emptiness from that metaphor. And it gives you a good picture in your mind of, like, for instance, what the emptiness of your own mind might look like. immutable, infinite. So, the idea here is that the yogini who has mastered these practices can dance in the sky of emptiness. Even as she walks through the normal world. You're like dancing through the world like it's a song. Like it's nothing but a projection. It's nothing but momentary shifting mental images that come and go. And it's like a dance, right? It's like if you were at that place where you really understood that everything around you was nothing but mental images, coming and going, totally shifting constantly all the time, coming and going, and everything was like a song or like water, it was just constantly moving, constantly in flux, And it would be very different than your reality now where you think that there are actually fixed things in the world like cups or platforms or people that don't change. that aren't constantly shifting because they're constantly being reborn every instant because there's a constantly different picture coming from your mind. So you would have a very different relationship with your world, walking through knowing that everything was like a dream. Everything was this ephemeral nature that you could reach into and change in a moment's notice because you understood its very nature. This is kind of what they're talking about when they're talking about dancing in the sky of emptiness. It's like this beautiful dance to the world. It would be like you were the master creator of your own universe at every given moment. And that you were painting your world as you went. And you knew it. and you watched yourself do it. So that's a beautiful image. I have lots of announcements and stuff, but I'm just going to do a few now and some later. last night if you were someone who wanted to sponsor a refugee worker who's putting on the computer putting in ancient text to save them for the next generation like we are using up all the world's trees we live in a desert right? we live at Diamond Mountain it's these foothills of these beautiful mountains you know there's not a single good tree there. You know? It's all... And we go there and we bought the land. It was cheap because there's nothing there. No vegetation to speak of. The lady in New York Times said it was like Mars. But we had some specialists come because we wanted to plant new things, you know? And they said, you don't know, this was an oak forest. And there was grass up to your chest here. You know? And we said, well, what happened? And they said, Highway, what's it called? 80? 10. Highway 10 from El Paso to Tucson was a railroad. And they needed wood for the railroad ties. And they needed wood to burn for the steam, you know. And they cut down all the oaks. And they didn't leave a single oak there. You know, there's not a single oak there. You know, everything's gone. And we're just trying to replant some trees, you know. But, then you're kind of like pissed off. Couldn't they think to save like five trees for us? I mean, it's hot, and it's in the desert. It would be so nice to have just a few trees left. How thoughtless to take them all, and so perfectly that we don't even guess that they used to be here. How thoughtless of them. And now we're doing the same thing. 80 billion barrels of oil, what? Per year. 80 billion. I mean, you can't even count billion. How do you ship a billion things? 80 billion. You know, we use 80 billion. We are sucking out, there won't be any trees at all. There won't be any oil in a few generations. Nothing. You know, and we're just, you buy a dinner in New York It takes me 45 minutes to throw out all this stuff. Really, it's weird. So at least let us give the books to the next generation. At least let us save the books for them. They will say, how heartless. They cut down the trees, they took the oil, and they didn't photograph the books that were rotting in the Mysore library. I mean, come on. So thoughtless. Just get your digital camera. It takes some shots for us, okay? So that's what we're doing with the project. If you'd like to help, people signed up last night. But Lama Ora brought some cards, okay? If you need more information about the thing, like all the websites, you can see what they're doing. We put in about a million pages already, and they're up on the web for free. And we've translated maybe 10,000 pages. So we have 150 years to go. So those are those cards. I'd like, if Lama Kimberley maybe would be willing, in the last five or six years, we have tried to transmit to the Western audiences yoga as it came into Tibet a thousand years ago and how it developed in Tibet. So, you know, we worked on these manuscripts. We studied with lamas. And so far we've done seven series of Tibetan heart yoga. From very beautiful lamas like, well, the last one was from Niguma, who lived a thousand years ago. And she wrote a beautiful yoga series about how to use yoga to fix your negative emotions. Like, I have a jealousy problem. oh, well, you need to do some twists at the waist, and here are three poses for you, you know. Like, if this kind of yoga got into the West, can you imagine how cool it would be? You know, like if all the people doing yoga to get skinny also used it to get over their jealousy at the same time, with an authentic series from a thousand years ago, I mean, that's what they're doing. That's what the yoga YSI people are doing. So I think it's just really cool. I think it's going to change yoga in the world. They just started their first 300-hour teacher training program. So I'd like Kimberly to get up and can you talk about it? Sure. All right. Yeah. Here, take this. Take this. Hi, everybody. Hi. Nice to see you. I'd love to see you when I sit up here. So thanks for coming. Just really quickly. Thank you, Mumas. I'm very happy to announce, you know, We come to these amazing courses taught by our founders and our principal teachers and our translators and our course developers and everything else that these amazing teachers do for us. And we come for four days or six days. And this is a teacher training, if you didn't know that yet. This is a teacher training. So it's June 5th through 17th is the first module. This will be in Tucson. The postcard that you need to pick up is this postcard. You'll see them around. They should be passed around right now, Mr. Lackerdale, perhaps. And pick one of these up and register. I tell you, the buzz, we haven't advertised this yet. The buzz has gone out, and already we have people registering, so it's going to fill up. Spaces are limited. We're asking just for a $500 deposit right now to get your name on the list, and I highly recommend that you do that. And I just want to ask the teachers who will be teaching this teacher training to stand up very quickly. Marish Shani is a leader in our teaching training. Marish Shani is amazing and extremely experienced in Tibetan Heart Yoga, Inner Method, all of the lineage of this school as well as Anushara, very senior teacher in that lineage as well. And then also Christina Pouchain. and we can teach them in New York as well in all of those ways and also a specialist in the Timamuki method which is wonderful Ted Lafferty will be teaching this course and then Lama Sumati Marut And I'm going to be helping out a little bit too So we hope that you get One more thing So Saturday we're all stressed out about this party We're having a book party We're releasing a 500 page art book and 100% of the money is going to help a Mongolian Buddhist temple where I was trained which is totally broke and needs help so we think it will help them for maybe 10-15 years but I asked Anatole and Andriana they invented ananda get it? catering and so back in Arizona for the last 3-4 weeks we've been experimenting with organic juice cocktails for this party, right? So, like, they would come out and say okay, this one is anise, coconut, persimmon, you know and then they give it some name like knockout or, you know and we were doing this for the last 3-4 weeks because we expected about 80 people to come and we are already with that we have all the anise and we have all the almonds and we have three people to grind them almost 600 people have already RSVP'd I think we might get close to 800 or something and we're we ain't gonna make it and we're trying to do everything for free we're just trying to give all the money from the book we raise the money to print the book So all the money from the books going to the temple. And forever. We signed over all the royalties forever. And so we didn't have any budget, you see? So, no, it's just you. Shami and Christine have spent their last pennies. They sold their last possessions. Actually, they did, okay? To pay for all the posters and stuff. And so we had this idea. You can guess what's coming up. We're going to pass out index cards. and you're going to write down I will bring drinks for 40 people. I'll bring something to eat like cookies or donuts. We're forgetting the organic thing. We're forgetting the... Try to make it healthy. Try to bring something healthy. Try it. If it ends up dunking donuts in a rush we won't excuse it. Try like Friday's the day off. I'm not even a spider doll. Thursday, you know, steal some of your mom's stuff. Bring the rest of the fucking pie. But we're really, frankly, we're very desperate. And we have nowhere to do it. So you're going to write down, I'll bring drinks. You know, I'll bring some kind of drink. Put your email too. You know what? If everyone puts drinks, he's going to email you and say, please bring donuts. And if everybody puts donuts, he's going to email you and say, please bring some drinks. Fruit is nice. Write down your email. Write down what you're going to bring for 40 people, okay, if you can. What do you want? He wants healthy stuff. No, you want his suggestions? Do you have suggestions for the people? He has a list. Can I see it? Okay. Apple cider, lots, lemongrass, flax oil, talk to him if you want to help him shop. Ginger, vanilla beans, anyway, almonds. I'll make some of it. Vegan cookies, cheese and crackers, olives. This is paper napkins in beautiful colors. paper towels pitchers hot plates any hors d'oeuvres vegetarian or vegan that you like I think the thing bring something that you really like vegetables it's a potluck grape and strawberries it's a potluck reception anyway it gives you an idea of what we're looking for you gotta everybody's gotta bring something how many people come in? yeah Please, please don't be lame, okay? Bring something. No, if you don't bring something, there won't be anything, really. If you're lazy and you're rich, then donate some money. Anatole and Andrea are here. I have this idea, like, they're gonna go into crisis mode at about half an hour after it starts because they're gonna run out of everything. and then if they had like a thousand bucks they could go to the grocery store and buy Oreos or something. It's going to happen. I'm telling you it's going to happen. If 500 people, 600 people RSVP it means double it. Which is going to be very interesting in this space. But bring something, okay? Don't be lazy. Bring something. Write down your email. Write down I'm going to bring a drink or I'm going to bring cookies or I'm going to bring flux. organic, triple, sure, un-cooked, but bring something or we're in big trouble. And then Anatole will get all the cards back tonight, and they'll figure out if they need more, and they'll email you. So just do it, okay? It's a party, and you have to make it happen. Because we used up all that little money we had already. And we don't want to spend the temple's money. We want to give it all to the temple. Okay? All right? Ko? Baza? Ba! Have a nice break. Some people know better. Ramamaru is teaching, re-teaching this class also in Vancouver, February 12th, 15th. Do you have any friends there? 3JulesVancouver.com Mahasuka Center Center in LA but on Arizona Avenue. I didn't know that. We are doing Kaleisha Karshurs, Tibetan Heart Yoga, December 9th and December 20th with Jessica and Steph, Stefan Dreyfus. You want to raise your hand? Woohoo! Where's Darcy? Darcy Jones. Where's Darcy? Where's Darcy? Raise your hand. Okay. You want the bad news or the good news? Bad news. Bad news, okay. Two or three people should raise their hands to be here at 9 a.m. tomorrow to go to New Jersey. to help carry the books. Two or three people. I see two hands. How about one more hand? Okay. There's one waiting in the back. Darcy was itching. Okay. Okay, Darcy and the other two guys. Meet Sean. Sean, you've got to stand up. Make sure you see them. Raise your hand again so he knows who you are. Not you, Sean. The other two. There you go. All right. And then here at 1.30 p.m.? Two more hands. For to do what? They're going to unload the stupid trucks. Okay, Shami, make sure they don't get out of the room. All right. It always goes wrong at this point. That's your problem. Okay. I told them, they're starting to look all exhausted. It's really funny. Okay. Three Jewels, New York, is having its birthday celebration on December 6th, Saturday. 6.30 to 9.30 yeah I don't know if you realize but all of you have a free place to teach in New York City because one woman and one guy who's not here I assume took all this headache on themselves for like 10 years so I think you owe a hand to Nancy Karen Thank you. So, Ani Pelma, who founded the Three Jewels, the irrepressible Ani Pelma, Fireball. My lama called her. Pelma means Fireball. She'll be making a guest appearance that night. So, okay. I like this one. Sexy flyer. Sexy flyer, right? I mean, the level of flyers is getting higher and higher. Yeah, people are competing now. Yeah. Flyer-kun. So, the Zets, the Flyers are being overtaken. But, uh... It's an upward spiral. Go Yoga, Jesse Shukung, and special guest, Ian Thorsen, son of Thor, will be at Go Yoga on December 4th and 5th. A first course for yogis who want a sexy yet scholarly taste of Sanskrit. How do you get that out of that? That's the fourth only. It's the retroflex. It's really sexy. No, but they're good at teaching. It's the mother tongue. It's the source of all languages. If you really know Sanskrit, you can pick up the New York Times and see, the whole front page in Sanskrit. So, you should learn a little bit. It's really good. Good to know. They can teach you, they can get you a good start. Okay. You are. She gives me all the boring ones. Then she says, your problem because you wrote it. Okay, the 10th mudra. We're going to do it fast. The 10th mudra is called Shakti. Say Shakti. Shakti. Chalana. Chalana. Shakti. Shakti. Chalana. Chalana. Shakti means, shak means power, to be powerful. It's in the words Siegfried and Siegmund, but also it's in the word persevere and calisthenics and scholar and school, because that used to be a place where you stopped and gathered your power. Sekul. So that's the shak. And then T makes it feminine. So shakti means feminine power, woman's power. Chalanan means get it moving. That which gets it moving. Chal is char, comes into kal, and we get like car, chariot, chorus. So together they mean what? Yeah, moving the woman's power, moving the feminine power, shakti chalana. So the last of the ten mudras, you're like almost to your MBA in inner body now, like you're two days away from finishing Hatha Yovapadivaka, right? It's a big deal. You're the first of many generations in this country. You're the first. You're on the tenth mudra, you're on the last mudra. It's a big deal. I mean, if you don't know. So you've reached Shakti Chalana, moving her power. So we're off the three olis. Okay, we finished the three olis. If you weren't here in the last few days, you're never going to hear that cool stuff again. Okay, maybe. He gives some different names for kundalini. Shakti Chalana is the same as raising kundalini. Okay. He calls her kundalini, which means coiled serpent lady. He calls her kuttilangi, which means lady of the crooked limb, snake. He calls her bhujangi, which means the snake woman. He calls her shakti, the feminine power. He calls her ishvari, the lady of power. And kundalyarundati, which means the circling lady. All of these ideas are what? With kundalini, you know how you make pots with clay? That's a kundal. That's an original kundal. And they used to make Homa, they used to make fire offering bits the same way. So it got to be connected with fire. So kundalini, the whole idea of kundalini, think potential, think spring. Think a spring. Like coiled and ready to spring. So the idea of Kundalini, calling her Kundalini and all these other names means she has a tremendous power waiting to straighten. And as soon as she straightens, then all this power goes through. So her name is, you know, coiled spring, ready to shoot, you know, like that. So you have to think, when all these names mean power waiting to be released, okay, like that. that's it? yep okay so yeah we'll do one more we're going on to verse 105 Udathayet kapatam tu yatha kuncikaya patat kundalinyat patayogi moksha dvaram pete dhyat. Using the serpent power, a deep practitioner breaks open the door to freedom. the way you would use a key to force your way through a portal that was locked. So the keyword here is hatha. Say hatha. What does hatha mean? Not here. Do you see sun and moon in this verse? Okay, so what is hatha? Yeah, it's a... It's about forceful means, right? Using forceful means. So this is the last of the Hatha practices of the Hatha Yoga Pradipika. After we get through this last mudra, chapter 4 is all about the mind and working with the mind to understand emptiness. So this is like the last thing that Yogi Swatma Rama has to say about the practices of working with the body. And he's reminding us again that working with the body is a kind of forceful means where you take the inner winds that are naturally running through the two side channels because we are misperceiving the world in a certain way. And you force them some other direction, even though your mind is not there yet. Right? Even though your mind has not reached wisdom yet, and the winds have not naturally migrated into the central channel, you are going to force them there through your intense practices. Right? And this is... Geshe Michael and I were talking a little bit about this verse and about the idea of forcing something that's not quite there. You know? And it's an interesting idea. But it reminded us of this story of the wheel emperors, which I know a lot of you know already. But in the ancient Tibetan scriptures, they've got these stories about emperors who ruled the world. And they traveled around on these big spaceships. They really did have these spaceships. And some of them were gold wheel emperors. Some of them were silver wheel emperors. Some of them were bronze wheel emperors. But they all came in their spaceships to a certain planet and they ruled the world. But how they ruled the world depended on the level of their particular status. Like, if they were a gold wheel emperor, they landed on the planet, and everyone unanimously bowed down to them and said, please rule the world, right? Please rule the world, and it was, like, effortless, right? They just landed there, and they were like God. Then the silver wheel emperors, though, they landed on a planet, and they had a campaign. They're like, I'd be a really good ruler of the world. This is the reason why. And they put up a lot of posters. And, like, eventually they won. But they had to do a little bit of work to get there. Right? Then the Bronze Wheel Emperors, they were, like, even worse off than the Silver Wheel Emperors. They landed on the planet, and no one wanted them to rule the world. And they just forced themselves. Like, they got all their armies together, and they say, If you don't let me be the ruler of the world, I'm going to kill you or imprison you or whatever. They threaten people. So these are like three levels that we have of our own karma in any given situation when we are practicing a certain thing. Like we're trying to get the winds into the central channel, for instance. You know, you could be at a level of the gold wheeled emperor where like wind is starting to fill your central channel automatically and you're just going into these ecstatic states of bliss like Ramakrishna. I don't know if you guys know Ramakrishna. He's a great bhakti yogi of the 1700s or 1800s? No. Not really 1900s. Is he? 1800s. Late 1800s, right. Because Vishnadevananda was his student? Right? Swami Vishnadevananda went to the first... Swami Vivekananda went to the first world conference of yoga in Chicago. She got the same award that Jayashree just got. Oh my God. In Chicago. On November 3rd. Wow. She put her in Chicago on November 4th. That's amazing. That's amazing. Just coincidence. Yeah, just coincidence. We're still trying to push that. You know, it's not going to work. We're not going to work. You know, all right, so now that Lady Ruth has actually brought this up, we've got this issue where Lady Ruth wants her teacher, Jaya Sri, to sing the last Hatha Yoga Patipuka, but we feel like Lady Ruth should do it because she's done it every year. She's our teacher. And she's our teacher. And we are trying, no, really, we just gave this big, huge impassioned pitch about how to pass on the lineage in the West, and how it doesn't have to be like an Indian yogi who speaks like this. It can be an American yogi who speaks like this. It speaks American yogi who looks like that. And our connection through this, you know, lineage of getting the blessing of the sound of the chant has always been through you. And so we would like you to do it. And we'd like everyone to ask Lady Ruth to do it because she's a little hesitant. So please, everybody. Thank you. Okay. If that doesn't work, I don't know what's going to work. Peace and love. Yay! Okay, so tomorrow, Lady Rose will give the last of the... The loom for Hatha Yoga Pradipika, which is like the blessing of the sound of the words as it had been passed down from generation to generation by someone who truly understands the text. You know, passed directly from your mind stream into, from their mind stream into your mind stream. You know, without, like, logical explanation, but just the prana of it. So, yay. Good job, guys. Anyway, drastic means. We're back on to drastic means, and then I'll let you go home. um real emperors so we could be at a level where our inner body is just something is happening and um things are being triggered and magical things are happening in our inner body just i don't know as your holy teacher says a certain word or something like that a wind will start to course through their central channel and and and you'll feel this blessing and then you're at the level, like gold wheel emperor, because things are just happening to you and you're not even putting any effort into it because of the power of your previous practice, right? Because of the power of your previous practice, you have reached this beautiful state where, um, it's like magic, right? And things are just, blessings are just falling upon you. Or you could be the type of person who really has to work a little bit, you know, like, like once you do your daily yoga practice and meditation, then something starts to happen to your inner body, then wind starts to happen through your central channel, and you start to feel something, or you could be at the level of the bronze emperor, where, like, you really have to struggle to feel anything in your inner body, Like, you don't really feel your inner body right now, and maybe if you fasted for a really long time and you didn't get a lot of sleep for a while, and you did some really, like, extreme things, then you would start to feel something happening somewhere in some channel somehow, you know? So, and that would be like a more forceful kind of practice. But there's sort of a balance that we wanted to talk about in dealing with where you are at any given time. You know, it doesn't matter what you're going for. Like maybe you're going for a job or maybe you're going for a certain partner. Maybe you're going for ultimate enlightenment. But whatever it is, you're always going to be on one of those three levels. You know, you're going to, either you're going to have the karma perfectly, or you're going to kind of half have the karma, or you're not going to really have the karma at that particular moment for that thing. And what do you do if the case is not gold emperor? You know, what do you do if you're struggling to get something and it's not quite happening for you? Um, first thing you have to say is you have to, you have to address working at the level of your own karma. Like, I, I haven't quite, um, collected the seeds for this to happen yet. To see magical things happen in my inner body or whatever you're going for. You know, and I have to go back and work at cause level and create the seeds for that. like by teaching others these practices or, you know, trying to help other people in their yoga or whatever you can think of that would plant powerful seeds for you to see yourself succeed. But at the same time, you can't succumb to this fatalistic viewpoint of, oh, it's just my karma, I can't do anything about it. Like there are two kind of cliffs you can fall off of. right the first cliff you can fall off of is trying to struggle externally for something that you just don't have the karma for right now which we've done our whole lives and hasn't worked you know that's what the whole world is doing right now is trying to struggle through things that they don't know how to get properly you know but then the other side of the cliff that you can fall off is, well, oh, that's just my karma, I can't do anything about it. Right? Oh, that's just, I just don't have the karma for that thing to happen. And then just not work at it. Because is that really true? Like, you have, once you understand karma and emptiness, you have ultimate power to plant the seeds in your own mind to see exactly what you want to happen. So, you know, if you have to maintain a balance between those two viewpoints in a moment, in a given moment, when you're struggling for something and it's not quite happening. So there can be a little bit of forceful means in these practices. But at the same time, you always have to work. You always have to be aware of exactly where they're really coming from, where it's where it's going to come from. from, where the success in your practice of the inner body and channels and winds are going to come from, right? And that's from the goodness that you have planted in your own heart from helping other people. It all boils down to that. You can hold your breath until you're blue, you know? You can, like, go into sacred holy union with whoever you want, but it's not going to work if you don't have the seat. it all depends on the seeds in your mind I think that's a a good place to leave off our our hata practice Sashivu Kyi Chushim Veto Chagmira Nishi Que eu adique o mundo Salam Geshe, so so sheen. Salam Geshe, le John wey. I am my goody, though I show.
