Wouldn't it be nice if all our young people knew how to be happy? If they knew how to design, create & maintain gardens where all their needs were met? We think so too. Let's give it to them! Stewardship School teaches students the sciences of Yoga and Permaculture to cultivate health, skills and connection. These teachings guide students to live in harmony with themselves and the world. We do this through the teachings of natural sciences and ancient wisdom traditions. By donating to the Stewardship School, you are helping nurture future gardeners and leaders. At the same time, you are also helping to plant orchards and edible & medicinal gardens in our community. Each semester we partner with a nonprofit or local organization, bringing our students into their landscape to install a useful and intentional garden in their landscape. For our Fall semester, students will gather at Happy Tales Animal Sanctuary each weekend, to be educated, practice new skills and build community gardens. During our Weekend Workshops, students camp on site with our Mentors and Counselors. Our staff educates them in the Inner and Outer Methods that transform the landscape and themselves. In the mornings, we practice movement & breath exercise and review the principals of Permaculture and Yoga philosophies. After breakfast, we work in the land, applying Permaculture design to install gardens, full of perennial and annual plants used to feed & heal animals and humans alike. Students will  learn how to design, install and maintain this garden while learning how these methods apply to their inner landscape. Following lunch, we teach hygiene and mindfulness practices. Then, we help with the animals and learn the healing power of the horse through Equine Therapy sessions. We enjoy dinner together, enter an evening yoga session with a talking stick circle around the fire. Here we settle in and get to reflect on our day and share our true self before we head to bed. Throughout the week, students meet with us virtually for yoga exercise and to study together. Each student also receives a Dharma Design as part of their curriculum. This helps them create a new lifestyle with  ew habits meant to help them overcome limitations and achieve their personal goals. By generating donations and sponsorship for our program, we will be able to curb the costs for our students or diminish student tuition all together. Our dream is to provide these teachings for free for our students, allowing them to study and practice with reduced financial contributions for them and their family.
